A related question. Does anyone know what the sound pots left and right are for my spy hunter arcade game are? I have the sound especially the music where i want it. But i would like to turn up the sound effects? I know the pots on the coin door are labbelled left and right. But i dont know which one is for the music and which one is for the sound effects? I know i can experiment to find out i.e. turn one or both either all the way up or off and listen etc? But like i said i have the music where i like it. And would just like to tweak the sound effects. It would be nice to know anyway. The sound is good as it is. But i know when i ran the self test, the sound effects sound low. But maybe ill play it more might be ok as it is. But just curious what pot is for what? Also would love to hear what people felt about the mrs. pacman volume? I have the games positioned where i want them. Once i set the sound volume like i want it i plan on leaving the machines set.

Hello, As stated in another thread i recently bought a mrs. pacman arcade game. I wondered what people thought of the sound level. I have been progressively turning my sound down. I have noticed some distortion, in particular when you die you can kinda hear a distortion when the sound effect plays. I like the sound of most of the rest of the game it is intense and really gets you into the game. What i was trying to do was in increments keep turning the sound down(i have to remove the back door to adjust the sound) until the dieing sound didnt distort. But i wondered what people felt, i remember arcades but i was a little young to actually remember an arcade like lets say from the 80s. But i wondered if there is a sweet spot where the sound is intense but no distortion? Or is it ok to have a little distortion? I also bought a spy hunter which i have right next to my mrs. pacman. And i have its sound pretty good i think? Maybe i could turn up the sound effects a little i.e. the machine guns, oil slicks etc. i think there is a seperate volume for the background music and the sound effects but not sure. But i wondered what people thought of mrs. pacman especially when you die. Like i can feel the machine vibrate a little. Anyway would love to hear what you guys think.

Hello, I recently bought a mrs. pacman arcade machine. Just wondered if any mrs. pacman had a high score board where u could input your initials? My mrs. pacman only keeps a high score if the game is left on, it resets when u turn the machine off. And you cant input your initials?

Mitch Yeah on the 2nd board of my cart. You walk over certain areas and they dissapear. Like there are lines that once you walk over them they become holes.

I can climb ladders in board one and board two? But when i get to board two, to the top. The upper most level i cant get up any of the four top ladders? How can you get past board one without climbing the ladders? I have donkey kong by nintendo for use with atari? Again i dont want an answer to get past board two, but just want to make sure its possible? I was thinking my cart is ok because all ladders work on board one and two? But when i get to the top of board two i cant get up two the girl on top. All ladders work with my cart, atari 7800, and joystick. But only one ladder works on the two ladders of board one. I am thinking this is how the game is supposed to work. i.e. only one ladder works on the top level of each board. But i cant seem to climb up any of the ladders on the top of board two. I dont understand why you say i shouldnt be able to climb up ladders, isnt that a basic part of donkey kong?

Hello, I dont know if this is the right place to ask this. But i own an atari 7800 and was playing donkey kong and had a question. One thing i should say i didnt want to look up the answer online because i am playing the game. In other words i dont want someone to tell me exactly how to get passed the 2nd board of donkey kong. But i got past the first board but when i get to the second board, i have gotten to the top. But i cant seem to get up any of the ladders there is four i think compared to the first board which has two ladders. I have tried to the best of my ability to get up each of the four ladders with no luck. I guess i am asking is there something wrong with eather my controller or my donkey kong cartridge. Again i dont want someone to tell me how to get past the second board. But just to reassure me that everything is working as it should but i just have to figure it out. I have tried all four ladders and none of them seem to work. But i dont know if there is a trick i am missing? Again i dont want details, just reassurance that that game is working correctly, and that i have to find a way to get up one of the ladders. Thanks in advance

Hello, Thanks for the reply. I now am using dasm on my mac with the terminal program. I tried to assemble a sample program, clock.asm. I was following a small tutorial on installing and testing dasm on a mac. I have dasm-2.20.11. And i also have stella as an emulator on my mac. The tutorial suggested trying to assemble a clock program. I found the program and copied it into text edit on my mac and called it clock.asm. I ran: dasm clock.asm -f3 -oclock.bin When i ran that command in terminal on my mac. I got like 5 errors one error is: clock.asm (21): error: Processor '6502\' not supported. Aborting assembly Terminal did create a .bin file, but when i go to open the .bin in stella i geat an error: Error creating console (check ROM file/bankswitch scheme) I am trying to test dasm and stella. The clock program i cant get to run though? Any idea what i am doing wrong?

Hello, I could use some help with dasm i went to the main site and downloaded the latest version. My question is how do i set up the assembler? Can i use it in dos, i tried to load dasm onto freedos which is a dos emulator on my mac. But when i type make i get an error message. I have tried testing dasm where the directory that contained dasm.exe is, but when i go to test it i get an error this cant be run in dos mode. Does anyone know if dasm can be installed for dos? Or what i am doing wrong? Or a link to a tutorial of how to install and set up dasm?

Hello, Just read this whole thread. If I could still get on the list, I definitely would want a cart.

Hello, Just a little background, I bought an atari 7800 on eBay. Also got some games and a couple of joysticks. I am interested in programming for my 7800. I have fooled around with programming on and off for several years. I even took a class on assembly language in college. I am not the best programmer, but I love it. A lot of times I will get a programming book and follow along as best as I can. A couple of noob questions, I see post of people talking about games. I wondered are these games, original? Or are they games ported to work on the atari? Is it possible to write a new game from scratch. Are these games available to buy? Like could I buy a game cartridge that I could plug into my 7800? Anyway, I'm trying not to be to ambitious. But I would love to learn.
