Hey Trip Cannon! (Or any expert on Impossible Mission)
Cousin Vinnie replied to Cousin Vinnie's topic in Atari 7800
I have absolutely crushed this game now except for ONE FRIGGIN' PUNCHCARD!!! I'll try to describe the room and hopefully someone can help me. It's a baby blue room with red floors, and two levels are exactly the same length and parrarel in the upper left hand corner of the room. You need to get the lower floor of the two, but there is no lift to that level. You can jump across the room to that level, but if you miss, you'll land on the robot in front of the fireplace. Also, you'll be fried by the robot on the top floor if you try to jump to it. It seems like a 1 in a million shot... I have no idea how to get to that 2nd platform. Please help CV -

You'll be hard pressed to find a more engrossing, perfectly ramped, incresingly addictive game than RE4 Cousin Vinnie -

If you can't tell, I'm posting alot this week because I have been too sick to work. It's nice to have some time to spend with my 7800 hobby and update my website. For anyone with a little time, tell please tell me which review lay-out you prefer. I like my old ones because I think they are unique, but someone's complaint has opened my mind up a little to at least try something new. http://flipsiderunner.com/7800/gvgrrare.html Better? Same? Worse? http://flipsiderunner.com/7800/test.html Thanks Cousin Vinnie PS: To any fan of the site, I have updated the high score forums, updated the cart list/ rarity guide, updated the 7800 bio, added two new cheat pages, and done three reviews... along with tweaking some typos. Enjoy!

I just read an article about how great the joypads are over at the Atari Times. I heard from before that the buttons were "mushy". Is one 7800 controller really superior over the other? Vinnie

That's great. I'm gonna add some info to that map later today. (Namely the one triple secret can bonus I know of on this level and the locations of the money bags in the bonus rooms.) Oh yeah, I'll add whatever else anybody comes up with. Cousin Vinnie OK, here is my 2 cents along with most of what John (propane) added as info for 1-2. John, I don't get what you mean by "jumping left and right off the stairs gets you 2 cans" I know its before th 4 bag money drop, but I can't find it. Cousin Vinnie

Thanks for updating it with the correct palette. Does anyone have plans on hosting the info on their website? I can host it on Atari7800.org if no one minds. Mitch I was, I guess we both can, yo. Vin

I may be a little stupid and half drunk, but Ms. Pac Man on the Atari 7800 always felt the best to me. It's nitty gritty or something. Can't put my finger on it. Galaga and Donkey Kong missed the mark, but Ms. Pac-Man was always awesome. I've played Ms. Pac Man on cell phones, the Gamecube, the Genesis, the Playstation, the Lynx and I have always been disappointed. So I guess that's why this version impressed me so much. Good job Bob... and Ken... and Schumtz, and Gambler, and Curt, and Harry... and the rest. Keep 'em coming Funkmaster V

After 6 years of reviewing 7800 games, Granny Vinnie has never given a perfect rating until today: Pac Man Collection http://flipsiderunner.com/7800/pacmancollectionr.html The odd thing is that I still prefer Beef Drop... but most people in the world would take Bob's new cart any day of the week over anything else in the library. Is there a BETTER Pac Man collection anywhere? I know some might have those god-awful 3D Pac Man games or Super Pac Man, but is there a better top to bottom collection better than this? I think the Random mazes options sends this one over the top. Cousin Vinnie

HAHAHA!!! After I do my Pac-Attack Special, Possible Mission Special, and review Pac Nestor SE, I was gonna start doing 2600 homebrews, but that is a good suggestion. The problem is that the games released at that time really blew. Besides Solaris, none of them were good. Midnight Magic, Double Dunk were OK at best, and then Radar Lock, Sprintmaster... Oooh! Road Runner was good, too. Hmmmm.... I'll think about it! Cousin Vinnie

Please list your top 5 favorite Atari 7800 games and your least favorite. Thanks! The results will be used for my website and you will not be compensated for your time. Cousin Vinnie

Mord... you rock. OK guys, let's start helping this guy out. I'm dusting off Scrapyard Dog today to see what I can add. I can't do any screenshots, but I'll try to find secrets, piano sequences, etc. But to be honest, the real pain in the arse is the third world. The one with the ridiculous jumps (3-2 or 3-3). That one needs to be mapped big time especially the pipe lines... I'm sure it will be a pain, but if we can do it, we can help alot of people finally beat this game (including myself) Cousin Vinnie

I made a mistake and linked to the video which was located somewhere else. It's not there anymore. If the guy that made it sees this post, I would love to host the video. Just PM me. I try to collect odd Atari 7800 items on my site that aren't anywhere else since I'm not technical. I can't really jump into any development conversations or design any 7800 games of my own. Needless to say it bugged me when I realized the video was deleted.... it was an amazing video. Besides my Super Skateboardin Map and Touchdown Football plays, it was one of my favorite things on the site. Cousin Vinnie

I think the sound effects and music in the game are really incredible for the timeline you had to program this. Cousin Vinnie

My biggest problem now is that dam room with all of the spaces in the floor. There is a fireplace, its red/ black and yellow, but there is no way to get to the center lift. Any tips? The floor looks like this (The C means Computer, L means lift) ___. .____. .__C__. . __L__. . ____. . ____. -

how many different lay outs does the game have? -
How many punchcards are there to find? Is it 32 punchcards to make 8 passwords? Last night I had 31 and I could have screamed (after finally aquiring Possible Mission). Couldn't backtrack fast enough and ran out of time. Help a negro FUNKMASTER V

That really is awesome. Is there any way you can do that with all of the levels? We could fill in the info as a community effort (ie: what is in the trash cans, what's for sell at the shops, pipeline info, etc) Cousin Vinnie
