  1. Rubs hands..oh man this is gonna be neat. Yeah I play all my games on the standard setting so no problem there. Thanks for throwing this out to me. I broke my score on Asteroids last night but I still have some work to do to top the scores in your forum. This should give me a little more incentive to kick some ass on the games now. In order to be accepted in your rankings do I have to register at your forum or would a simple picture by email showing proof of accomplishment do the trick? Also-I'm playing Asteroids VE. Other than the graphics I can see no real difference between this and the regular game. Which would you rather prefer I use though,I mean if there is a difference in difficulty between the two I haven't noticed. I like the old school look to Asteroids VE more but really I can play either one, just let me know which you prefer that I use in my scoring. Thanks. You could post them in this forum, actually.... that would be the easiest way for me to see it because I rarely check my email. I kind of use Atari Age as my forums and news source for my site anyway. Also, if you post it here it might generate some interest in the High Score Club. You might be interested to know that the high scores on my site were taken from past 7800 High Score Clubs, Early 90's Gamepro mags, individuals that email me, and Twin Galaxies. So that's pretty darn diverse sourec info, meaning that if you beat a score on there there is a good chance you have one of the best scores around (on the popular games at least) I would prefer you play the original 7800 games on cart or on the CC2-no hacks or emulators. Just so it's 100% even. Cousin Vinnie
  2. Check your scores against the best scores around the world here: www.flipsiderunner.com/7800/hs.html If you beat some, send them too me! Screenshots appreciated but not required Cousin Vinnie
  3. Do you mean Pac Pollux? If not, holy crap. How many French Cratoon Pac Man hacks do we need??? Vinnie
  4. I like this game. I also like rancid milk Vinnie
  5. www.flipsiderunner.com/7800 Vin
  6. That's the link to my band, but I probably should switch that to the 7800 site here. LOL It's also on the links section under Atari 7800 at Atari Age www.flipsiderunner.com/7800 Cousin Vinnie
  7. I've been to he VGC site tones of times for 2600 games and because of that I seek your opinions first. Because sometimes that guy is right and sometimes he is WAY OFF. -Ray Try Cousin Vinnie's Froo-Froo. It might not have as many reviews as VGC does, but it gives you a second opinion. Thanks! And I have more 7800 reviews than anyone............... cause I got them all! That reminds me, I have a Review of Robot Finds Kitten coming this week! Cousin Vinnie
  8. I know, brutha! The only person that agitates me here is Zylonbane (he has little man syndrome) No offense taken Thanks. My site being compared to the VGC's site is sugary sweet of you Vin
  9. I put in a bid of $560 just to say I did and I have been the high bidder for a day and a half. My wfe will kill me if I win! (I know I wont win, this thing will sell for $1100) Cousin Vinnie
  10. Well, I slammed the game in my review for being too easy because the instructions give everything away. Now the boss battles are a nice challenge regardless. I hate being cheesy, here is my guide/ walkthru on the Atari 7800 Froo Froo site that John Harvey wrote: http://flipsiderunner.com/7800/mmc.html Hope it helps. This game is great, all you need is a little help and encouragement. Cousin Vinnie
  11. Not necessarily more effort went into Tank command than Commando. I was referring to the effort put into Tank Command versus most of Froggo's lineup. Commando took a good deal of work, but I just don't like the result. Tank Command is faster, to me, and I think it's a bit smoother. I never did get into the game where you play a dude running around and shooting things up. I can, however, see a game where you're making a trek from point to point and have a little firepower to blast anything in your way. My type of shooter is similar to Raiden or R-Type. Out of the two 7800 titles, Tank Command is simply my own prefernce over Commando. (Then again, what would you expect from someone who didn't answer, "Joust and Centipede."?) Of course, I get the feeling that Vinnie doesn't share my preference. With an emulator, one can try them both before spending $20 to get Commando shipped, or three times that for Tank Command. Man, I dont know what you are smoking, but pass some over here. On the positive side: TOP 10 7800 MUST HAVES: 1) Tower Toppler- The best graphics on the system with some of the best challenge 2) Alien Brigade- Best shooter on the system/ original storyline 3) Basketbrawl- Best Sports Game with several gameplay options 4) Midnight Mutants- Quirky Adventure game with lots of depth/ big boss battles 5) Ninja Golf- Novelty game that mixes basic golf, Kung Fu Master and Shinobi 6) Ms. Pac-Man- Best classic port of this game (fast) 7) Ikari Warriors- No flicker, lots of explosions, two players at once Ballblazer- Far and away the best sound on the system coupled with fast gameplay 9) Food Fight- People dig this game. It's fun and has instant replay 10) Beef Drop- Brand new homebrew that is amazing... may be the best game on the system Cousin Vinnie
  12. It kinda makes me sad that the top three games listed were Asteroids, Tank Command and Galaga... which are far from being the best the system has to offer. Galaga sux compared to the NES version and Tank Command SUX Let me repeat, Tank Command SUX Vinnie
  13. Cousin Vinnie #7 (God's number.... and Elway's)
  14. The cartridge has secret play modes. I dont know if the demo does Vin
  15. I don't think anybody did. Really, it's a total pain to use it for serious development, especially when you have to change your controllers between keypad and joystick all the time. The CC2 at 115K baud just totally blows it away. As for debugging, I ended up writing my own monitor (linked in by including its asm source) that does a serial connection through the right joystick port. That was usable enough for me to fully validate the chain-checker in Tubes. Yeah, and you need to finish that game, Bruce.... its awesome Vinnie
  16. $$$$$$$$$$$$$ SENT FO' YO' A$$ Vin PS: This may be the best 7800 game ever created. You better buy it!
  17. Huh? I thought Scrapyard Dog had tons of variety -- City levels, Junkyard Levels, Sewer Levels and a Factory Level -- 17 in total. I agree that there's a lot of repetitive 7800 games, but don't agree about Scrapyard Dog being one of them. Scrapyard for the Lynx rocked, I still haven't been able to get into the orginal 7800 version yet....God knows I try. I went ahead and downloaded the ROM for Scrapyard tonight after reading the posts about it here. Um...yeah... I'm not exactly sure about what to say, except that if this was in direct competition with Super Mario Brothers then the 7800 stood little chance of survival. -Ray Well, two things first: 1) Emulation from Downlaoded ROMs Suck 2) Scrapyard Dog gets way better after the first level.... and it's no Mario Vin
  18. I don't even see how you can play that game on the Flashback. It's not even the same game by a long shot. Here's my Planet Smashers blurb from my website's review so I dont have to type it again: Planet Smashers: Now, here is a weird 7800 game to include in a compilation. This 2D shooter fails to impress many anyway, but there are several strategies in this game that make it unique. However, this emulation cares nothing for strategies, because it gives you shields when you don’t need them, and it never gives you enough cloaking devices to beat the mini-bosses. Also, I thought the graphics here were pretty close to the original until I saw the first mini-boss. Man, they didn’t even try.
  19. The game is nuts, but I like it alot too. Vin
  20. Oh hell yeah. The 7800 version was marginal at best. It's a shame. Redoing Galaga 90 (Turbographix-16) for the 7800 would be awesome Cousin Vinnie
  21. Is the Gameboy player worth the $$$? Does it ever mess up? Do the games look OK on a big TV? Does gameplay suffer? FUNK
  22. The game friggin rocks. Have you played it? If not, you will be happy when you do. Vin
