This may be the goofiest topic ever here, but I just realized why I have always followed the 2nd and 3rd place video game systems. (Atari 7800, Atari Lynx, Turbographix, N64, Gamecube) I'd like to know if any of you think the same way as me, or if I'm just a goof. Since I don't have time or the money to really investigate, rent and buy tons of games, I like systems with a smaller library because their quality games are easier to keep up with. I also wait at least a year or so to buy a system b/c I like to pick up really cheap games and hardware... and 3rd place companies are the cheapest. Am I alone in thinking that way? Cousin Vinnie

Tyson's Punchout, hands down. It's fun, challenging, unique and whimsical. I also like it because its one of the only boxing games that stresses the importance of defense. Greatest Heavyweights and Ring King are great too. Cousin Vinnie

I was playing I-Ninja for a review and a part of the game reminded me of Perfect Dark's last stage. I started to fondly recall that game & Goldeneye and it dawned on me that Goldeneye really had some awesome final stages. What do you freaks think is the coolest last stage/boss of them all? Mine is the 9th hole of Ninja Golf. Just kidding. Mine probably is the Cradle in Goldeneye, but the bonus stages were awesome as well. Starfox 64's last stage gave me vertigo. That was pretty awesome back in the day. Cousin Vinnie

Ms. Pac Man vs. Robotron Finished! Vote for the next game!
Cousin Vinnie replied to Cousin Vinnie's topic in Atari 7800
Conspiracy!!! Seriously, if this game wins... what difficulty should we go with... I remember playing one game for several hours back in the early 90's, and I wasn't particularly good at it. Cousin Vinnie -
Ms. Pac Man vs. Robotron Finished! Vote for the next game!
Cousin Vinnie replied to Cousin Vinnie's topic in Atari 7800
This is the 3rd time I have voted for Basketbrawl, hee hee. Besides Tower Toppler, Ninja Golf, Alien Brigade and Midnight Mutants, my favorite game on the 7800. Cousin Vinnie -
I can't believe it, but being unemployed has its benefits! I was able to stay up late this weekend and notch my best scores ever in the two games, and I came away with my first win in several weeks. Again, I barely beat out Trip Cannon in a close one. Jedi Jeff still has a commanding lead on us all, and it was good to see BJK (who moved up into 6th) and newcomer Fire Tiger! It's up to the HSC to vote for the next game to play. Here are the ones that we have already played. Any other games in the 7800 catalog are eligible for voting: Games to be excluded from the voting: Alien Brigade, Asteroids, Ballblazer, Centipede, Choplifter, Desert Falcon, Donkey Kong, Food Fight, Impossible Mission, Mario Brothers, Ms. Pac-Man, Ninja Golf, One on One, Pete Rose Baseball, Robotron, Tower Toppler Here are week 13's results: 1) Cousin Vinnie 243,785 2) Trip Cannon 237,045 3) Jedi Jeff 170,950 4) BJK 170,310 5) Fire Tiger 30,140 Here are the total point standings: 1. Jedi Jeff 66 2. Trip Cannon 50 3. Cousin Vinnie 47 4. Rockman X 27 5. RJ 17 6. BJK 14 7. NE146 13 8. Shannon 9 8. Goochman 9 10. Devo 5 11. Fire Tiger 1 12. Atari Wizard 0 12. CShell 0 12. Apolloboy As always, keep up with all of the cups and in detail results at the 7800 High Score Club Homepage: www.flipsiderunner.com/7800/highscore.html Remember! Voting ends Wed at midnight! Typically... what price would you pay for a 7800?
Cousin Vinnie replied to EricDeLee's topic in Atari 7800
55$ with no games is a joke. You can get a used Gamecube for that price at some of the pawn shops around where I live. These guys at Flea Markets are out of their minds right now. When people quit buying at those prices what they donotated to the Goodwill 8 years ago, classic games and systems will come back down to Earth. CV -
Now the jibber jabber in the forum has gotten out of hand and over my head. I feel like my simplistic rant will be overlooked over there, but I just want to say that ROF is a great friggin' game. Thanks to Curt for bringin' it about. Did you get this from all of that stuff you recieved at the 7800 20th Ann. Speech? I am excited about the finding of this, but I can only be 100% excited if the game gets finished. Somebody please take on the project! CV

Finally beat Pikmin and about time too...
Cousin Vinnie replied to Jasoco's topic in Modern Console Discussion
That's exactly how I did it. I dunno, I normally suck at Video Games (except 7800 originals), but Pikmin gave me little trouble and I beat it in 2 or 3 days time. I was pretty proud of myself. Since then, I have given up on Wind Waker, Eternal Darkness, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Twisted Metal Black, Scrapyard Dog, Rampart, Dracula for the Lynx, Super Monkey Ball's Expert Mode and ever being really good at Super Smash Brothers. Uhhhh.... Try putting it in upside down. Cousin Vinnie

What happens when you only get 29 parts? I know some parts are needed and some are not. Did you still beat the game, ie: ending and all CV -
Froo Froo Review: Pool Paradise
Cousin Vinnie replied to Cousin Vinnie's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Now I could be hopped up on Nyquil, but I could have swore that I read somewhere that this game "Killer" was developed by someone working with the game. I wonder where I read that... Anyway, I believe you, and I'll edit that part of the review. Thanks for the info. Say, last night while I was playing PP, it looked like another game could be unlocked. It has a rack of balls with a dark hole under it. Is this One Pocket? That's my 2nd favorite pool game... that would be awesome if it was included. Care to elaborate, Sigma? Or does pookey have a cold? CV -
