7800 vs. XE - Desert Falcon and Dark Chambers
Cousin Vinnie replied to birdie3's topic in Atari 7800
Desert Falcon gets a bad rap from a lot of people, but I think the game is really great on the 7800. I have never played the XE version, but I am totally happy with the 7800's take on it. CV -
I'll communicate with Albert until then you can check the HSC: www.flipsiderunner.com/7800/highscore.html Here is my ASS score: 167, 425 Cousin Vinnie

www.flipsiderunner.com/7800 Thanks to Mitch for letting me trade for Pete Rose and borrowing Tank Command. I hope these reviews rock half as much as he does. Woot CV

It's amazing how good my scores have always been for Atari original games and how everyone and their dog could pick me up and kick me in the junk when it came to Arcade Classics. I was surprised I got 7th out of 10 in Ms. Pac-Man LOL Cousin Vinnie

I just realized that I suck badly at this game. Couple that with the fact that I don't find it very fun and the Cousin Vinnie fans need to bet on someone else this week. I will get something up by Friday that will be halfway decent tho. Cousin Vinnie PS: the 7800 HSC webpage has been updated... www.flipsiderunner.com/7800

Hey Trip, my goof up. I'm sure you knew that. I fixed it for ya. And I guess I have the final say so on this, but I am NOT a Robotron expert or anything so after seeing those crazy scores I'm gonna agree with the people who know on this one. Let's play this one on Expert Level! CV

Oh yeah, contest ends Friday at 11:59PM CV

Alright, another Arcade Classic has us in the mood for love. Anyone can enter the contest. Visit the Atari 7800 website for the results from previous weeks and more glorious colors. www.flipsiderunner.com/7800 There will be two new additional point standings races as well as the main points standings list. This is just for fun, but this way more people will be in the running for Titles of some sort. You can compete for imaginary cash and prizes in: 1) The Total Points Standings List 2) The 7800 Arcade Points Standings List (for Arcade conversions) 3) The 7800 Domestic Points Standings List (For Atari orignals and Computer conversions) Anyway, hope this adds to the fun Cousin Vinnie Here are the Total Point Standings: 1. AHEM! Stupid question, but I never understood the concept of a Cuttle cart. What the heck does it do? CV
-
Yeah, little crap like that is what seperates new games from old ones. The modern graphics do not wow me as much as the little touches game designers are dropping in the games now. Today's games are awesome. Cousin Vinnie

Amen brother! CV

Super Cart was a term they used to make games sound cool. They pretty much slapped this on everything that wasn't an old arcade port during the early years. CV

Yeah, Ikari is rare in Aussie land. But that just goes to show you that we all got screwed one way or the other. CV PS: That reminds me. Why are my daughter's morning children shows bombarded with Australian programming? The Wiggles, the Koala Brothers, good Lord make it stop.

Looks like I might get this crappy website done after all. Only 4 reviews and a few cheat pages left to go! http://flipsiderunner.com/7800/ssc.html Cousin Vinnie

Let's vote for the next game, ladies. We'll only do one this week, and we'll end the voting Thursday night at 11:59PM. I'll vote for a more common game so everyone can play this week... How about: Ms. Pac-Man Cousin Vinnie

Aye Aye capp'n. Cousin Vinnie

The remaining games (at least 95%) listed in the AA rarity guide are available in both PAL and NTSC. Rarity on PAL games are actually quite a bit different than good ole US games. For example, Donkey Kong games are rare over there. This is a good way to pick up the boxes you need for your loose carts. Buy the common PAL Planet Smashers, Ikari Warriors boxes on ebay and put your loose rare NTSC games in those boxes... Most pal games are sold overseas. Look for the GBR/ AU/ AUS tags on ebay listings to clue you in. CV
