  1. Maybe you're playing it with only one joystick? Part of what MAKES Robotron the game is the ability to move in one direction and shoot in another. This total independence of both movement and shots is integral to playing this game and making it fun. Any other way.. and it's no fun, and you're up shit creek :P

You can read in my review how I play :)

  2. It's amazing how good my scores have always been for Atari original games and how everyone and their dog could pick me up and kick me in the junk when it came to Arcade Classics. I was surprised I got 7th out of 10 in Ms. Pac-Man LOL

  3. I just realized that I suck badly at this game. Couple that with the fact that I don't find it very fun and the Cousin Vinnie fans need to bet on someone else this week.

I will get something up by Friday that will be halfway decent tho.

  4. Hey Trip, my goof up. I'm sure you knew that. I fixed it for ya.

And I guess I have the final say so on this, but I am NOT a Robotron expert or anything so after seeing those crazy scores I'm gonna agree with the people who know on this one.

Let's play this one on Expert Level!

  7. Only thing that puzzles me about the game is that the people you have to rescue seem, well, brainless.  Think about it... these happy-go-lucky people feel compelled to walk around in circles without caution as to what might happen should a passing Hulk trample them.  In most cases, these people seem to walk right into the things.

Way I see it, I figured that these bundle of pixels we call people would make at least some attempt to escape death, right?  Perhaps not.

Ah well... still a good game.   :D

Yeah, little crap like that is what seperates new games from old ones. The modern graphics do not wow me as much as the little touches game designers are dropping in the games now. Today's games are awesome.

  8. I think the farthest I got into the game was about the third boss. But then, wouldn't you know it, my ears started bleeding from the laser fire sound effect, and I had to turn it off and go to the emergency room.

    Amen brother!

PS: Apolloboy, I will do the Computer Classic and Arcade Classic voting next week, bro. Sorry for the confusion.

  10. Yeah, Ikari is rare in Aussie land. But that just goes to show you that we all got screwed one way or the other.

PS: That reminds me. Why are my daughter's morning children shows bombarded with Australian programming? The Wiggles, the Koala Brothers, good Lord make it stop. ;)

  11. Let's vote for the next game, ladies. We'll only do one this week, and we'll end the voting Thursday night at 11:59PM.

I'll vote for a more common game so everyone can play this week...

    How about:

    Ms. Pac-Man

    Cousin Vinnie

  12. The remaining games (at least 95%) listed in the AA rarity guide are available in both PAL and NTSC. Rarity on PAL games are actually quite a bit different than good ole US games. For example, Donkey Kong games are rare over there.

This is a good way to pick up the boxes you need for your loose carts. Buy the common PAL Planet Smashers, Ikari Warriors boxes on ebay and put your loose rare NTSC games in those boxes...

Most pal games are sold overseas. Look for the GBR/ AU/ AUS tags on ebay listings to clue you in.
