  1. Question for homeowners. My dishwasher is kaput. Easy to self install a new one or recommend a professional install?

      I've done this a few times, and it's fairly easy, assuming the old washer has a flex water supply and same connector as the new. I think they're mostly standard these days.

       

      But search youtube for "replace dishwasher" to get an idea if it's beyond your skills and comfort level.

      Since you already have a dishwasher, the power, drain, and water supply are already in place and ready to be connected. If you verify the new one will fit in the existing opening, then the absolute worst case scenario is you have to hit the hardware store for a fitting or adapter, but even that probably won't be necessary. If you have even a shred of confidence in your DIY skills, and an hour or two to spare, you'd be crazy to pay somebody to do this, IMO.
