  1. Yep, I have a few and they're silver. Guess I should dig them up and sell my extras.
  2. I don't know much about SMS homebrews, but you might want to check out the Bruce Lee port. http://www.smspower.org/Homebrew/BruceLee-SMS
  3. This is all so awesome guys! Just within the last year or two I was reading about the Plato cart and Cyber1 to see if anyone knew of a way to get an Atari connected. It didn't sound like it was possible, so I kind if gave up. I thought it'd be super cool to play some Moria, dnd and pedit5 on an Atari! Fantastic work everyone. I am definitely going to delve into this before too long. My thanks to all you dedicated Atarians!
  4. Sounds fun JD! Glad you enjoyed the blog post. I was hoping it might be helpful to people in the US who were interested in ZX Spectrum's. This shop makes cases, membranes and keymats, in case anyone hasn't heard of them: http://www.retroradionics.co.uk/ I think their stuff looks really cool!
  5. The Harlequin is a bare PCB, but it does fit inside an original ZX Spectrum shell/keyboard and is the same dimensions as the original 48K, so once it is assembled, you can have an NTSC Speccy inside a ZX Spectrum. Some people prefer keeping the board bare, but I got an old 48K keyboard for mine along with a new membrane. I was in the same boat as you Vic, being in the US and wanting a Spectrum. I'm very happy with how it works, but it did take some time assembling and I'm not sure if you're into that. Also, you might want to go with the S-Video mod as it clears up the video in a major way. I have covered my assembly along with a post on modding for S-Video in the blog link above. Cent
  6. You might want to consider a Harlequin, which is what I ended up doing. It works great: https://drunknretro.blogspot.com/2016/06/sinclair-zx-spectrum-ntsc-superfo-harlequin-rev-g.html Also, keep an eye out for the upcoming ZX Spectrum Next: https://www.specnext.com/
  7. Ah! Never thought to head for the mouth. Crazy yokai! Thanks Chart!
  8. I am really enjoying this game, but could someone tell me how to beat the first boss? It's probably really simple, but everytime I get to it, I can only take a couple hits from his hair before dying. Not sure if I'm supposed to dodge the hair and attack with the beam or something else. A small spoiler would be helpful to get moving along in it. The instructions are very vague. Thanks
  9. I really love this Digress! I'm with everyone else on not having the flying levels, but do think the overworld would be very cool. I imagine Conan on horseback shooting arrows at Hyrkanian horse riders and Picts, hopping off and swimming to ancient ruins, visiting villages which could open another overworld type screen with shops, taverns(would have to have taverns if it was Conan!), black lotus could be your suicide option ala Tank Mission(haha). Having vertical sidescrolling levels could allow for exploring towers and such. Maybe have the map key locked until you speak with shady characters in the corner of Taverns who offer to sell you treasure maps, or when you find them throughout the world. Just a few ideas. I think you're onto something very cool!
  10. Wow, can't believe I missed this. Dungeon is an awesome game on the 2600! This will make a fine AA store addition when it's finished.
  11. Very cool! I'm happy to see this. Thanks for the link Jose!
  12. In case any readers weren't aware... Collectorvision are taking pre-orders for Tank Mission now! Check it out! http://collectorvision.com/shop/colecovision/tank-mission/
  13. This is so sad and shocking He brought a lot of happiness to this world and for that I am very thankful. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication through the years Keith. You will be missed. The Intellivision Lives On!
  14. @First Spear, the ad looks great! Screenshots look really nice. Stoked about the storyline/music. Charityware too!
  15. I'm looking forward to this. I like the idea of an all-in-one Spectrum (SD, Joystick, HDMI, etc) and it can operate in NTSC, which is nice.
  16. I hope this turns into something. I love the keypad idea and have felt it'd be perfect for this type of game.
  17. I love it! If the theme is a sample of what the other tracks will sound like, I could see this being very cool. Looks like a lot of songs.
  18. Looks like a nice mod. I see your logic now thinking it could be a cap issue. Since both video outputs are giving you trouble. My Colecovision had really bad RF and Yurkie's A/V mod totally cleared it up. I don't have enough experience with Astrocade's to be of much help, but it might be worth opening it up and examining. My video issue was beyond ghosting. It was completely garbled and covered the whole screen.
  19. Thanks Adam Hmm... Not sure on the ghosting. Does it ghost on multiple TV's? Does the S-Video upgrade run through the RF modulator at all? Could be something with your RF modulator possibly. I mostly relied on a visual inspection for my repair. In my machine the two caps I replaced were leaking.
  20. Well, there's an old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I don't have a lot of experience with Astrocades, so I can't really give too much advice on whether this is a wise move or not. But I did replace a couple of caps on my machine and will say that anytime you open an old machine like this, you run a risk of damaging it. Desoldering on old PCB's isn't easy and some of the caps inside the Astrocades are in tricky spots too. Here's a blog post I made when fixing a video issue I was having: https://drunknretro.blogspot.com/2016/06/up-from-crypt-bally-professional-arcade.html?m=1 Might help you decide. I'd personally leave it alone if it's working ok.
  21. I haven't seen much discussion on this yet, but it sounds promising. I'm curious to hear more about it. Thought I'd mention it, in case anyone is interested. http://intvprime.com/2016/09/13/the-minstrels-legend-is-in-development/ Here's a little writeup about it I found: http://www.indieretronews.com/2017/01/the-minstrels-legend-open-world-rpg.html?m=1
  22. I took the plunge and ordered the C64 Collectors Edition. It was just too cool looking to pass up! Wasn't an easy trigger to pull(pricewise), but I'm fascinated by this game. Looks and sounds great. Happy I went through with it now. With all the effort going into the game and packaging, I feel like it's a good project to support. I do hope they release another run of cartridges after all orders are filled though. Just so everyone that wants a copy won't have to pay hundreds of dollars on eBay.
