  1. I have fond memories of Aladdin's Castle and LeMans. I loved how they were so dimly lit and how magic it looked with the glow of the machines. Tons of great games. A friend had a birthday party one time and we all got a cup full of tokens. I felt like it was MY birthday! I had such a great time. Even got tickets and traded them in for cheap little HE-MAN figures and stuff. It must have been the late 80's, because during the mid 90's they started getting rid of the older machines and that's when arcades around here started going south, iirc. I really miss good arcades... But, I did get to visit the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas recently and had a wonderful time! Love that place. Thanks for the memories
  2. I received my copy from GDG about a month ago and wanted to mention that I was quite impressed by the overall quality of the release. The game is SO tough for me though! lol. Kudos to everyone involved
  3. CIB vs Cart just kind of depends on the game for me, if I have the option. With this game, I'd love to see it with a full release, since Digress did such a nice looking job with the box design. Also, this game appears to be pretty loaded with different gameplay sections and such, so a manual would be nice as well. I feel like we're pretty fortunate Al offers carts at such a fair price in the AA store, but not sure it's as lucrative for publishers to offer a $25 cartridge only option, which could be part of the reason for that. I'll just be happy to play Tank Mission in some form. Looks unique and fun to me.
  4. I'm stoked to play this digress! My most anticipated CV title in the works. Hope everything goes well with the publisher. Salute
  5. I am curious if anyone ever made a new or clone XE Super Cart PCB? I know there's been talk about it over the years. A board with a GAL chip like the bankswitched Pixels Past boards would be really nice.
  6. Yes, actually. Sounds like work has been keeping him busy lately. He mentioned not having any plans to put together any more Dungeon Hunt packages, but didn't mention anything about digital downloads. Hopefully his schedule will open up and he can answer that for you guys. It's a fun game and I hope everyone that's interested gets a chance to own some form of it, be it a cartridge, disk or download. It deserves a spot in the AtariAge store IMO.
  7. Thanks for the update Luc. Those boxes look nice! Keep up the good work.
  8. I'm not sure what version you have, so I'm not sure. I have the original gold disk version that included the registered ATR, which I put on a Maxflash cart, but the saving didn't work. That's around the time Jacobus released the Maxflash cartridge edition(which also included an ATR with the saving feature enabled on the Maxflash). I am unsure if he sold digital copies of the Maxflash version or not. Hope that helps
  9. I sent him an email, so hopefully all is well with him and he can chime in here to help you guys. Yes, there is a digital version that works with the Maxflash carts and has saving, but each copy is registered individually.
  10. I actually just saw one of these machines at a thrift store a couple of days ago, but it was priced at $350.
  11. Thankfully a couple of the games I was always wishful of seeing released have actually become reality thanks to our awesome scene. I always thought the isometric Dracula and Lord of the Dungeon looked really neat over here: http://www.colecovision.dk/unreleased.htm
  12. This is looking really cool and I'm happy to hear it will be a remix. I'll be on the pre-orders for this one! Thanks for sharing.
  13. Thanks for keeping us updated Luc. Looks like there has been some good progress on an epic task. It's nice you're hearing people out regarding Frostbite. I would also prefer it being as good as possible, even if it takes a bit more time. And congrats on getting The Cure! Looks good.
  14. Do you just need a scan of the Atarimax 8MB cart label? I have a couple of those carts that Steven Tucker sent me. Just not sure I'm reading your request correctly.
  15. Welcome to the awesome world of Atari Home Computers! I personally love using 5.25" diskettes and have had decent luck with new old stock floppies. Using a "new" tech device alongside physical diskettes can open up a lot of possibilities with these systems . I own a 1050 disk drive along with an Atarimax MyIDE-II and SIO2PC from Lothartek and can run just about anything with some work on my 800XL. I'd follow Gilsaluki's suggestion on researching your must-own carts, then branching out. Just the cart based software alone on the A8's is pretty awesome, but delving into the richer disk based software is where it's at.
  16. I highly recommend Yurkie's Colecovision AV mod. If you play CV and still use RF, do yourself a favor and get this!

      Master Phruby

I'm waiting for one to arrive right now.

Didn't he stop doing these (or maybe stopped selling pre-modded consoles). I would consider, but need to get a more reliable console first. Not high in the priority list.

I just got the DIY kit. I'm not sure if he still sells pre-modded systems or not. It made a huge difference compared to my RF, which was getting really bad.

  17. Love how you took that guard out midway through dropping down on him. Lol This is looking great! Thanks for the update
  18. I really like how most CV games have difficulty selection. Here are some ideas: Private - Unlimited Continues Corporal - 3 Continues Sargeant - No continues Maybe use corresponding insignias that'd show up when completing a stage, finishing the game or getting a game over screen with the final score. If all that is too much, maybe just a simple undocumented continue button (*) at the game over screen, kind of like an easter egg. Just some suggestions. Thanks for listening.
  19. I hope you add some sort of continue/password/secret code sorta feature to this, as it looks to be getting pretty big! I'd hate to get far in and then stuck on one act and not be able to progress without starting over. Just going off what I'm seeing, that thought comes to mind. Just a suggestion. I'm excited for this!
  20. Oops, this timed out at the 3am reset and double posted
  21. This is a very thoughtful endeavor Luc. Positive vibes Óscar! Hang in there. I wish I could afford more, but sent an email for 4 titles. Will get PayPal sent asap.
  22. Alone in the Dark really made a strong impression on me back in the day. I only had PC speaker sound on my old 286 and that game somehow utilized it really great. Had never played anything like it at the time. I'm not huge into the SH genre, but have recently been playing a lesser known From Software title on the PS2 called "Kuon". It is a Kwaidan ghost story set in the Heian Pariod of Japan. It's very influenced by the Resident Evil style of gameplay and is very creepy. It's pretty cool.
