Does it work to set your 6K ECM3 sprite pattern table at >3000 and let it extend into the extra 2K at >4000 to >47FF?

Unfortunately the answer to my question is no. The address seems to wrap around to 0 instead of proceeding into the extra 2K. @matthew180 would it possible to fix this in a firmware update?

I'm working on a project that requires 30 ROWS, ECM3 tiles (6K), ECM3 sprites (6K), 2D scrolling (4K), TL2 (1K) plus 256 bytes for tile attributes and 128 bytes for sprite attributes. Without the extra 2K I can only store 32 sprites patterns, which is simply not enough. All 256 tiles are also needed.

I dunno yet the details. He just said, I'm trying to load SNP with editor assembler on my finalgrom and it doesn't load with the option 3 and entering the program name.

So I told him to try another loader, like RXB loaders, or reinstall the EA.bin files.

Anyway, here's a cartridge image of you program, so that FinalGROM owners don't have to use E/A to load it. 🙂

So I'm guessing that the user was using a weird version of EA.bin, or it was corrupted, I guess there's a possibility that the ram on the finalgrom he is using could be bad, I think those finalgroms have a ram chip for ram? Not sure...

Or maybe the user put SNP on his FinalGROM and thought it could load from there (which it can't because it's not a cartridge image)?

Sorry, but you misunderstood my issue at the beginning. But everything works for me in Flashrom99. I'm not sure about finalgrom, because I don't own one to test with.

So what you're saying is that you can load SNP from E/A loaded from FlashROM99. But that's not the same as loading SNP directly from FlashROM99. To do that you need to convert SNP into a cartridge image.

The game using the Eric's file works fine on my FG99. But it doesn't work using the RockRunnerC.bin and RockRunnerG.bin you made, with or without the 32K RAM expansion. I have the same symptoms as for Nick99.

Which version do you mean by Eric's file?

This game's header is on it's ROM! It also needs to access GROMs.

It seems that the FG99, wont load GROMs, unless one of them has a header.

That would certainly explain it. But why it works for Fabrice I don't understand. Are there different versions of the FG?

I did rename the files. I have attached the files I use to my last post.

I'm using 1.9, and I've noted that some of the demos don't work.  Does it make sense to downgrade to 1.8?

No I, think we should all use the latest version.

It just meant "I need to find and download that ZIP file with the collection of everything" which I have since done.  I'll try the stuff you've attached, thank you!  :)

OK. Do you use version 1.9 of the F18A firmware? Some of the demos have been done for earlier versions of the firmware, and in 1.9 some features were removed.

renamed to romc.bin and romg.bin, still the same result with a black screen text on top of the screen (the four hearts is visible) and I can hear the sound that is played while the graphics should appear.

My TI is a PAL maschine and I use SAMS memory, if that can be information that helps solve this mystery.

Still, the old version works great!

    Thanks Eric!

Hmm, it doesn't work on my FG either, with the same symptoms. And not with the version @Eric Lafortune posted either. They work fine under emulation.

Tried RockRunnerC.bin on my TI with FG99, it starts but the graphics don't show, just the time counter and score on top of the screen, rest is just black. The version Rhodes shared works.

You need both RockRunnerC.bin and RockRunnerG.bin.

@Asmusr I played a bit with the game too and it is really playable and I really like. The result is Impressive, I just have to admit that textures sometime camouflage objects from my sight 😛

I would want to ask also if it could be possible to replace the dot used for the position with a directional arrow indicating always the right direction you are looking in the 3D view

    Something like this for example:

I would find it very useful to orientate well in the map thinking to the 3D view
    what you think?

I hope this will help with the orientation.

    Yes that should be possible.
