    Kids today are getting even more bird brained than previous generations. I don't think I'm the only one noticing the influx of technical idiocy on tech sites in the past few years as millennials grow up, and it is made worse when tech writers appear to cater to such FUD ideas.

      Have several Millennials working for me, and they are amongst the best employees I have. All are punctual, willing and eager to learn. They don't have other entanglements which makes them more focused on the task at hand. I always dislike threads like this that generalized an entire segment of society.

    ENOUGH with the updates! The festering rot that is Apple.. They botched iOS 8 in a minor way. They made a patch 8.0.1, and that broke hundreds of thousands of phones. Why didn't they get it right in the first place? Why so quick to push 8? Why not wait a couple of days till 8.0.2 came out, then just release it as 8! I mean next we'll have 8.0.2.0.2.1.0.2.1.1.0.1 This is ridiculous! I mean like I haven't updated (nor reinstalled) XP in years, and it works fine.

      In a perfect world that sounds great, but there are always issues.

       

      He speaks of Windows XP being a great example of software that just worked for him. Ask early users how service pack 3 worked out for them. Users of Microsoft;s point of sale software had their data corrupted with SP3.

       

      So, just like Apple did with iOS 8.01, Microsoft halted the release.

      As per usual, its always safe to wait a couple of weeks to upgrade. Rushing in may be alluring, but there are always scenarios that programmers do not consider.

       

      Let a few weeks pass. See what pops up and then upgrade.

    Just finished watching the second The Hobbit. This could end up being the greatest movie trilogy.

      I enjoyed the second one quite a bit. The first one in the trilogy seemed to take way too long to get going. The carefully carefully with the plates scene seemed to take an hour.
