Using Europe 220v Falcon/C-Lab MKX in USA for 110v?
Fletch replied to AtariSociety's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
I believe you swap in a USA 110v PSU for a UK 220v PSU and all will work. I bought a 110V replacement PSU for my Falcon from Best Electronics last year. He probably still has more. -
Roger, Does the 130XE do anything at all when plugged in?
-
I seem to recall that those boards were limited to 2.5mb

No problem. I'm trying to go through my stuff and see what is missing. If I find more things I will post it. I too saw that it only seems to work on TOS 1.62 or older. If I run the game on real hardware Its usually on my Mega with TOS 1.4.

Micro League Baseball II - PASTI imaging fail
Fletch replied to Fletch's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
I figured something odd was happening on the disks. For example, on the STAT COMPILER disk it appears blank if you access it from TOS. However, if you use the disk in game, there is data on it. -
Micro League Baseball II - PASTI imaging fail

They have added features is all. MLB and MLB II are the same game, but MLB II adds rain delays, injuries, arguments, and a couple of other things. It spells out the differences in the manual. -
Another thing marked as missing on Atarimania. Enjoy! Dizzy Collection.zip

Micro League Baseball II - PASTI imaging fail
Fletch replied to Fletch's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
The quick reference cards are the same for MLB and MLBII. I have the box and the full MLBII manual. I will scan those when I get a chance. I know it is odd that MLB II is not referenced in the game. But believe me, I own both MLB (Atari 8-bit) and MLBII (Atari ST) and though quite similar, the ST Version is MLB II. -

Maybe if we are really nice to Paranoid Little Man, he'll make a hard disk adaptation -
Micro League Baseball II - PASTI imaging fail
Fletch replied to Fletch's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
I think I got it! The General Manager's Disk and the Stat Compiler Disk imaged successfully tonight so I figured I'd try the game disk again. Same issue as the other night. Track 41 would fail to read and the program would abort. Throwing caution to the wind, I poured a bit of isopropyl alcohol on the disk and tried again. It worked! I transferred the STX images to my Mac and they work in Hatari. I'll make a copy of the manual at some point, but for now it is fairly self explanatory. I've attached the quick reference card. To play a game, boot the MLBGAME.STX image. To edit teams or make your own team, boot the MLBGM.STX image. The MLBSTAT.STX is used with the MLBGAME.STX disk. At the end of a game, you can compile team stats. This disk is used for that. MLBII.zip -
List of songs done on Atari ST machines
Fletch replied to Master Phruby's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Most Fat Boy Slim tunes as well. -
For kicks, I decided to break out my Atari ST version of Micro League Baseball II and enter the two World Series teams. I think it might be fun to see how well MLB II does at simulating the series outcome. Typing in all the players's statistics is a bit of a pain, but I'm almost finished. Anyhow, I checked on Atarimania and saw that MLB II is listed as missing from their archive. I tried to make PASTI images of the disks, but during the reads the imaging software encounters a read error and won't continue. I'm wondering if MLB II might utilize a damaged sector for copy protection which is causing havoc with the software. I tried it on a 1040ST and a Mega ST. Read fails at the same point on both machines. Does anyone have any suggestions for imaging these disks? Thanks, Pete

Atari Mega STE booting from system floppy
Fletch replied to krisu13's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Try holding CONTROL during the HD boot. That should bypass the Auto folder items. -
My Falcon started to have issues last year and thankfully a new PSU from Best Electronics cured it. Don't want you randomly tossing money about, but maybe you'd have the same luck. Oops, I didn't notice that you used it with a known working PSU. So forget the suggestion.

Apollo "68080" new 68K Core running on Atari STf

Now that would be interesting! -
I just want to get myself a copy of Space Bike IV. I hear it is way better than Space Bike III!

The trouble I see with an ST high score club is that so many of the versions available to people will be vintage cracks that way too often have Trainers or Infinite Lives, etc. I hope players are mature enough to ignore those as an option, but my faith in humanity keeps dropping. Regardless, throw out a game to play and we'll see where it goes.

On boot if it says MINT is now TOS then it is Multitos. If not, standard TOS it is. What sort of software do you need or want? I can make you some floppies if you have specific requests. Congrats on a beauty of a Falcon there! -Pete

Start VT52, hit the help key. Set the terminal speed to 1200. Click ok, type atdtxxxxxxxxxx (replace the x's with a phone number). Modem should dial. If the gods are with you, you shall be connected to the BBS.
-
Here is a link to the manual. The VT52 emulator's use is covered starting on page 12. http://www.atarimania.com/documents/Atari_SX212_Modem_Owners_Manual.pdf

Any terminal program will do, even the VT52 program included on the Language Disk.
