back in the day I lived in a tiny studio apartment, I hocked my TV for some spending money on a weekend trip but I had a powermac 8500 which had composite & Svideo and a big trinatron VGA screen (along with my main computer) so I used that for my PS2 and Genesis along with some light mac gaming (as it was an obsolete machine even 20 years ago)

on my icade conversion I panel mounted a button for power and ran a wire over to the netbook's power switch and soldered it keep in mind pi's dont exactly have a graceful power solution either ... or storage (well the pi4 finally gets usb 3 but they are hard to find for most people since they just came out, and dunno the status of retropi to take advantage of it)

yes I have never figured out why media mail is so difficult for people, if its media, it cant go media mail, if its useless dead trees bought and sold by the pound in 37 locations within 10 miles of your house THEN it can go ... but no one wants that crap besides, if its under what 13 ounces it saves you a whole nickle over first class and takes 3 days longer

there is no real discussion, they keep makin promises and changing things around meanwhile since 2017 and less than 6 months to go the best they got is STILL some 3d printed shells and a dumpster dive pizzabox pc behind a black shroud running a generic big box frontend

Cheap Heatsinks for Astrocade Custom ICs
Osgeld replied to boxpressed's topic in Bally Arcade/Astrocade
use the dremel and sand off a bit of heatsink, its only aluminum and a sanding drum will make quick messy work out of it -
Cheap Heatsinks for Astrocade Custom ICs
Osgeld replied to boxpressed's topic in Bally Arcade/Astrocade
as long as its making good contact and has a little dab of heat sink compound otherwise your far better off with the thermal tape (or if you want to commit, thermal epoxy, artic silver makes some that's good and fairly cheap) -

Osgeld replied to norm8332's question in Forum Questions and Answers

Anyone see the Video Game Wars on History Channel?
Osgeld replied to ACML's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I meant to watch it, totally forgot though ... its history channel they will replay it a thousand times though (or just watch it on demand thanks internet), and I forget if it was them or another channel that did a similar series years back, cant imagine its changed a huge amount -
