  1. Its open source, quit complaining and go ahead and take care of it Otherwise you get what you pay for
  2. That already happened they came back in the late 90s
  3. 375 bytes is not far off from 4k bits (aka 500 bytes) and not everyone (especially the auto industry) packed every single bit full of data ... there's a lot of 0's as far as changing bits make sure your not using some generic profile and set voltages specific to the make and exact model of chip ... and make sure there's nothing else sharing the usb port as even motherboard ports are shared though a hub so the available current is split limiting the boost voltage of the mini-pro which is taking 5 volts jack shit current and boosting it up to 20 something volts (maxed) 1970's level current
  4. late 2019 now equals late 2021 lets be fair guys, for a linux soc developed by other people and some douchewaffle that did something insignificant for the xbox ... 20 years ago being in development hell since what 2017 aint that bad meanwhile in every other part of the world shit is actually happening
  5. Just about anything over 10 bucks is overkill for low voltage digital electronics I have a Tektronix handheld and a hp bench top meter but I'm also an engineer....
  6. most of the time those things are in series with the video output, I guess it could have one side grounded
  7. big caps only smooth out slow changes, small caps filter out higher frequencies (based on maf)
  8. just short it out with a blob of solder (actually that's an easy way to remove chip parts like that but you still need to short it)
  9. some power supplies are just shit I had one from a ras pi kit (radio shack) that when adapted for my 65XE looked like a worm farm was crawling over top of the picture, got a different one and its razor sharp
  10. I got a pal 65XE junky machine for like 35 bucks here in the USA a couple years back sure I could turn it into a 130, but its currently hosting 512k (cause I am too cheap for a Ultimate 1MB) UAV (though it supported svideo already), dual pokey's and a intergrated SIO2SD as someone who never owned an atari computer before phht 2014 (though grew up with every other 8 bit on the market) there's not a compelling reason to get a upper end model darn well knowing that if I want to play along with today's scene ... I am going to end up buying the same upgrades it would be different if I had a boss atari from back in the day and its been in my hands since childhood and I love it cause it did, but yea there's your case for the lower end atari's ... its cheap arse mod nerds wanting to dive in the deep end for as little investment (and possibly offence) as possible
  11. They tend to be cheaper to get and with the current offerings in upgrades everythimg is about equal
  12. Just cause no one has mentioned it check ground continuity from the tab of the voltage regulator to the end of the composite cable
  13. except for the Mark III, which was the original master system as far as SSD's intel and sharp did have bubble memory in a few machines of the mid 80's (like most of the early model GRiD laptops used it as non volatile storage)
  14. every nuc I have ever seen has them, they are usually just not populated / broken out, but its still a place on the board for them and they do work
  15. almost all motherboards still have a com port, but usually its just a header, even my brand new MSI gamer blah blah blah AM4 board has a com port and since I work in a factory full of antiquated machinery, com port's are not really that common
  16. It can be expensive and hard, it can be done on the cheap and easy depends on what one is trying to get out of it ... I am not a pokemon collector, I don't have to catch them all, and in perfect condition or else that hole on my shelf demoralizes me as a person, so I just kind of kick back and enjoy what I happen to find along the way back to your sound blaster example, sometimes I don't get people I had 2 sound cards for sale recently a sound blaster 2.0 and a crystal audio sound blaster sold instantly for a silly amount of money, couldn't give away the crystal audio card (I tried and eventually found a home for it) even though its superior in every way to the SB 2.0 ... people what are you going to do
  17. yea I mean its not worthless, but its a core2 in the age of practically free 3rd gen core iX's
  18. more in stock https://osgeld.fwscart.com/CX-40_Atari_2600_Tactile_Switch_Drop_In_Replacement_PCB/p5988195_19269795.aspx
  19. I sold one very similar to that for 40 bucks I also bought just a couple months ago a hp pizzabox desktop with a i3 3220,8 gig, 250gig hard drive for 50 bucks shipped So you might be able to get some.money out of it but no frills commidity computers can be had for next to nothing all day long from about a thousand places
  20. Valid points but I have one reason genesis is far better 60hz
  21. Buuuuuut it wasn't its not even first to have game programs on cart (thats the channel f) But atari had a large fanbase when it came out which helped a ton
  22. or my kia even with the engine in place (its a really tiny motor)
  23. BBB is a useless joke and a drain on resources the only thing good about it is the fact that you can see the endless complaints on a A rated company, back before the internet was a everyone thing
