  1. next month AMD is going to announce its 4th followup to ryzen (Zen, Zen +, Zen 2 and soon Zen 3) since 2017 this shitbang started with a A8 was it? from 2014 then moved to embedded zen 1 ... maybe zen +

one could build a zen + cpu with a dedicated gpu with 8GB ram at this point for around the same price, maybe even with a windows 10 license

just for fun here's my wife's 3600x computer I built for her birthday, discounting the fact I had the graphics card already its about 500 bucks worth of parts ... with 5TB of storage and 32 gig of ram

An FPGA core is just another clone hardware in practice.

And this is the biggest misconception, no it is not a clone, its an approximation and just like I said at the beginning of this thread it all depends on who makes it.

There might be emulation that is extremely accurate

There might be FPGA implementation that is just enough to make it work

it might be vice versa, but that magical acronym doesnt mean its instantly the best of the best and flawless, its just a chip off digikey that someone chose (I mean here's one for 1.18$ im sure it plays a mean game of breakout, has to its FPGA)

Nice that is really cool. I would love this, but you know COVID19. :(

yup, I have not used this thing in a while, work is tight, baby on the way, looking at my BOM cost I am selling it pretty much for the price of the base material, not including labor, paint, graphics, 3d printing filler plates for the jag shell, and setup ... but yea couple bills would pay a baby bill and its sitting around

  4. For sale is the coleco chameleon that I made while all that fiasco was going on, its essentially a raspberry pi in a box.

    What you get is ...

    • Meanwell Power supply (I forget the exact specs its on the bottom of the board, I think its 5a)
    • Custom board to handle power on and off though the case power switch and LED
    • Raspberry Pi 3B (not 3B +) 1.2Ghz quad core, 1GB ram, wifi + BT
    • 16 GB SD card for OS (like 10 gigs free)
    • Extensions to break out 3 USB ports, HDMI port, Wired network port, and analog AV ports
    • ASUS Bluetooth controller (normal generic xbox 360 style)
    • Custom cart containing a 120GB  Samsung MSATA SSD on a USB 3.0 Converter that is mostly full of "stuff"
    • Coleco Chameleon brochure from the 2016 New York Toy Fair along with an invite to the 2017 Retro Gaming & Collectibles Expo
    • One mostly used roll of electrical tape

Items that are also included but not what one would call features ...

    • DVD containing backup of OS, power control script, custom splash screen, and some basic instructions if you need
    • Half meter long USB 3.0 male female extension cord  so one can actually plug the 120GB jag cart into a computer to manage roms
    • HDMI cable
    • Power Cable

    What I am asking ...

250$ Shipped, USA and Paypal only

    Thanks for looking, stay safe

So now, Atari has moved from "asking for money in exchange for something we might never deliver" to "asking for money in exchange for literally nothing".

seems like natural evolution to me, people were ______ enough to give them 3 million dollars

Here it is guys, Street Of Rage 4 is finally here!! Is it any good? Well, I thought the initial previews were awful but here I am with my honest first time ever impressions of the game as I boot it up for the first time.

dunno, didn't really care for the franchise in the first place and it looks like a soulless flash game, least the originals had something enticing about them ... more than a scrolling jpeg and some cell shading with slow moving animation bobbing up and down cause yea ... people bob up and down at a slow rate when trying to kick your ass

  7. yea the atari 2600 controllers use a, dunno how to really describe it, its usually the female side that would plug into a tab, but they have been bent out and slide onto the board sideways so like fdr4prez said unless you break a connector off its solder free

so when handling the connectors its best to grab them by the body or neck and not the super thin wire, and especially when removing them try not to let them "pop" off the board (which yanks the wire)

I wouldn't be surprised if Ataco's creation is just very low-end raspberry pi.  Something like this in the video:

funny it looks like an apple (bandai) pippen

guess if one is to invoke random retro awesomeness and make it seem fresh retro, make it a clone of a system no one bought, like a jag renamed coleco ... hm excuse me, I need to start on my hyperscan set-top box android clone campaign

... uh... but I was using Mosaic/Netscape in 1994. On the internet. Two years earlier than that.

    I guess he's on a different planet :)

In 95 after getting tired of text only internet from the city library terminal service we got a "shared" dialup account split up between a couple buddies heh
