This is pretty cool, a new open source emulator for the TRS-80 Model III: http://www.sharp80.com/ It seems to work pretty well, of course for Model III only. Comes already built-in with DOS, an assembler/disassembler, some games/utilities. One thing I noticed is that the DOS disks don't already have the date fix applied, but TRSTools can fix that. Well for the LDOS dsk image anyway.

Yeah, that is cool! A simple copy and paste of your code and it works!
-
Pretty cool! I didn't think of trying this on the iPad.

So the 8-bit Workshop combines the Javatari 2600 emulator, DASM assembler and a web-based editor and debugger, all in the browser. It seems the book expands upon the example code he has on the web page and starts off with a 6502 assembly language tutorial. If you are new to 2600 programming, it might be worth picking up a copy of his book. I can't speak for the Kindle version, because I didn't get that version, but the paperback version is good. I never liked how technical books are formatted in the Kindle, but maybe if you view it on a PC or large tablet, the layout will work.

That's a good question, I'm not sure! I received his book today from Amazon. About 234 pages in total. So that answers my question, a CreateSpace book looks just like a normal book!
-
I picked up a copy of his book from Amazon too! It's an on-demand published book through CreateSpace. This is my first experience with one of those, hopefully it turns out as good as a traditionally published book.

http://8bitworkshop.com/?platform=vcs&file=examples%2Fhello Is this old news here? I just found this today! Seems he has a book on 2600 programming as well.

8-bit Generation: The Commodore Wars available now

I enjoyed it! It was cool to hear the words directly from some of the players involved in the story. Whether it's worth the price is something you'll have to decide. -

Hi, yes, I purchased it through that link I listed above and just watched it via my browser, however, there are download options available. -

I'm not sure. I'm watching it in my browser and I don't see an option to activate subtitles. -
For those of us that didn't participate in the Kickstarter, the movie is available now on this website: http://www.commodorewars.com/shop

Wow, that is pretty cool! Thanks for the link. I wish I would have known about this before I purchased an old one from eBay. I had no clue this was in the works.

Oh, this is great! Something else to use with my Big Mess o' Wires Floppy Emu

I'm not sure. While I did purchase a couple of the Kickstarter cases, I just used some original clean 64 keyboards with mine. -

Not sure about keyboards or keys, but it would be nice! -

I agree! I'm interested to see what revisions they are going to make with the 64 Reloaded as well. -
For those who haven't read this news elsewhere: https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/en/33/items/commodore-back-in-germany.html I love the bread bin color of the 64C case plus with an official Commodore 64 label.

Gauging interest in Atari based Eprom Burner

I'll take one as well. -
These are not cheap, but this website has a microSD disk drive emulator for the Apple II (line), Macintosh and Lisa computers: https://www.bigmessowires.com/shop/ I've got the model b for my IIc and IIc plus. It works great! You can find new Apple IIc power adapters on eBay. Here is one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/c-LAPTOP-STYLE-POWER-SUPPLY-BRICK-FOR-APPLE-IIC-75-90-watts-18-00-S-H-/221294478704/ When I first got my Apple IIc I used ADTPro to download software and make real floppies: http://adtpro.sourceforge.net/ If you decide to go the ADTPro route, I'd suggest getting your cables from here: http://retrofloppy.com/products.html as these are sure to work with ADTPro.

My adapter came in today and I must say that I'm impressed. I'm new to the Color Computer world and didn't have any joysticks for it (because I'm picky). I did have several brand new old stock SEGA Genesis controllers though.

Great, thanks for the information flashjazzcat! I'll give it a shot.

I have one of these as well, but haven't played with it until now. Do we update the spartados-pcb with the UFlash application? http://atari8.co.uk/uflash/ Also, do we use the SDXImager for config.sys? It's been a while, but I recall having to build the spartadosx image with this tool for use on the Atarimax cartridge.

Yes, much appreciated. Thanks for your efforts!

Not sure if you have it yet, but the Sams Computerfacts for the Tandy 1000 might have some useful information for you: http://www.colorcomputerarchive.com/coco/Documents/Manuals/Hardware/Sams%20ComputerFacts%20Tandy%20Model%201000EX%20Computer%20%28Howard%20Sams%29.pdf I always like to have one for each of my old computers.
