    Comlynx

I'll have to lookup up the term "Baud" to understand how it works... I also need to get my hands on "Alpine" . Let's say you wanted to the Lynx to upload a file that's maybe "1MB" in size without considering the Lynx RAM; would it be possible for that file size to be up loaded in real-time.
  2. That's definetly one system I'd like to create a better music software for. I forget the location of the link where you can download "PDF" on subjects about the Lynx, but it's here somewhere. I think Carl Forhan had something to do with posting it, but it's definetly whorth reading... You'll find a lot good stuff the Lynx sound system in the PDF's... It's a big file size though.

    Comlynx

I don't have any games that uses the "Comlynx" and I know very little about it... Does anybody know exactly how much data can be transferred via "Comlynx" and how fast in can be transferred? I'm simply curious.
  4. I like to see "SilpHeed" for the Jaggy.
  5. Thanks for your input... This will certainly help in my decision making.
  6. Did you or anyone else every have any complications or problems when using CRY mode?
  7. If you had to choose between using "CRY mode" to do all of your 3D shading versus making your own shading scheme, which would you choose to do and why?
  8. I wonder how far along the project has come?
  9. That's good to know... It'll be facinating to see more new games for the Jaggy.
  10. Hey... What just happened? I posted that. Not Tempest. 961852[/snapback] Sorry about that... I thought my computer was freaking out on me. (Embarrasing ) Please resist the temptation to laugh Anyways... I remember a while back when I was comparing the 32X version "Virtue Racing" to the Jaguar's "Checkard Flag" and before I know what the Jaggy was capable of doing, it often puzzle me why the frame rate to Checkard Flag be as smooth as Virtue Racer. Has anyone ever requested the source to Checkard Flag?
  11. Hey... What just happened? I posted that. Not Tempest.
  12. I'd often thought about hacking "Flip Out" and just converting it into a Flash ROM... I was very disappointed when playing that game after I bought it. I think it would be cool if the "source code" to Checkard Flag were released.
  13. Here's a good question I'd like to know... If you could changes something different to a bad Jaguar game to make it better, what would it be?
  14. I know that all too well... That's "Trevor Mcfurry", but I love the graphics. That's one game that showed the Jaguar's potential. It's too bad it didn't turn out better.
  15. You know what would be really neat? If Matthias used his Ethernet technology to build a better Jaguar CD Unit at a cheaper price. I'd buy it.
  16. If that's the case, I see no reason why there shouldn't be a flood of releases for the Jaggy. I hope to make arcade style games for the system. The thing I have problems with is getting hooked up via BJL especially in WinXP... I know there's some way it can be done using the "DOS Box" emulator and some other Window plug-in, but I just can't seem to get a connection. This is why I'm so glad that Matthias is making that cartridge hardware for the Jaggy, that is if it actually get released. It's much needed and it's certainly long over due.
  17. Has anyone actually do any reverse engineering on the Jaggy?
  18. That fantastic... Item like that calls for a new genration dev tools. It's time to prepare.
  19. I always felt that game could've been better... I'd certainly pay $50 bucks for it.
  20. I'm planning on getting one although I would like to see more cartridge games.
  21. To me, the Jaguar has great potential for newer developments from a software stand point. I think the only regret I have about the Atari Jaguar is that I can't seem to find a C compiler for the GPU and DSP... I really hope I see more developments for the Jaggy and I think it's just amazing that the Jaguar community has lasted this long. If that doesn't merrit for newer games for the Jaguar then I have a bridge in Manhattan for sale. It's good to see that the community is holding strong.
  22. Also... The video game phenomenon as we know it today started in the arcades as we all know. I would like to see that same innovation for the Jaguar. I think the Jaggy deserves it.
  23. I wasn't so much speaking in terms of remaking arcade games for the Jaguar, but here you have a system well more powerful then even the Neo Geo. I used the arcade as a reference in terms of what it would take to make the very best video games for the Atari Jaguar 64. Arcade games are typically made for one purpose and one purpose only and that's to get people to play pump their machine with quarters thus there's always a competitive-ness to the art of making the very best games for a certain system that a company truly beleives in. As a result, some of the most innovative games push the limits what a game hardware can do. In a way I was speaking in terms of innovation for the Atari Jaguar; new games for the Jaguar 64.

    New Jaguar GCC

Has anyone ever used the C compiler for the GPU/DSP from this website? If so, how far has anyone gotten with it:?: http://hem.passagen.se/isvar/jaguar_server/jserver.html Jaguar GPU/DSP C Compiler
  25. It's not so much porting an already existing arcade game to the Jaggy, rather it's an opportunity of tapping in the competitive edge of making games for the Atari Jaguar. Pretend that you're Jaguar is an arcade system and you've been given the opportunity to make a game for this arcade system; what kind of game would it be? What kind of features what you give it attract people to play? It's more or less adopting a new/fresh attitude about the Jaguar as a means of redefining the Jag in this present time. What was it that defined Atari's\ most popular arcade hardwares...? It was the games. I think Trevor McFur was a great looking game and showed a lot of potential in what the Jaguar was/is capable of doing despite the odds. Why not take it to the next level and see just how far the system can be pushed.
