  1. Just a quick follow up... I found that Ms. Pac-Man worked, if you can imagine playing that on a trackball as did Frogger by using the number pad, which was usually how I played it anyway, so I considered that one to test positive. Contrary to my first post Pac-Man didn't work, and neither did Pole Position, which the FAQ list said did...oh well! Oddly enough the trackball's box shows Defender as one of the games that will work with it, but I couldn't get it to work. Anybody out there know of any 5200 games that work with the trackball that aren't listed in the FAQ? You can include protos if you want, heck you can buy a lot of those nowadays anyway. Tim
  2. Silly me, I didn't even think to check the FAQ. Shame it doesn't work with all the games like the 2600 trackball! Thanks again.
  3. I just got a 5200 Trackball , which I have to admid seemed about as cool as could be. Finally a controller with arcade style/quality fire buttons However, I've noticed that some of the games do not work with the trackball. I tried Centipede and Galaxian which worked wonderfully. Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man worked reasonably well. But several games like Berzerk, Gyruss, and Mario Bros. would not work at all. Is the trackball game-specific? And if so which games work with it? (Or maybe I should ask which games don't work with it?) Or is it supposed to work with all the 5200 games and I'm not using it right? I've got the 4-port model 5200 BTW. I've got a 2600 trackball which I use on my 7800 and it seems to work with all the 7800/2600 games. I figured the 5200 trackball would work with all 5200 games, but maybe not. Any help or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks Tim
  4. Sorry about that, I was just speaking from personal experience, I have found that girls...ahem...women (my wife in particular) don't like excesivly bloody games like Doom, Quake, Mortal Kombat, ect. They tend to like more colorful games like Centipede as someone else already mentioned. And I suppose killing bugs isn't as bad as killing people on the screen.
  5. I can understand you there, except in my case I still have my old Compaq 386 which has tons of great DOS games that won't run on a modern PC, especially if it's running XP. Give me Win3.1 any day! Now I've got lots of PC floppies all over the place to go along with my 2600 and NES carts.
  6. My wife likes to play Dig Dug and Galaga, we often have compitions on the NES (she likes those versions better). And I can't leave out the Centipede arcade machine. Back when we were dating we totally hooked up when she saw I owned the arcade machine. Millipede and Ms. Pac-Man too, usually on MAME or some other arcade emulator. My advice, go for something fairly non-violent, blood and gore is usually bad. Oh and Silpheed on the PC, classic 286 game there.
  7. Sadly I don't have the hi score cart. You said the prongs are to long. I read on the Tigervision page that the cart could be moded. Would you just have to cut the prongs a little bit shorter to make the cart fit in the 7800? Tim
  8. Hi everyone, I went to a yard sale the other day and considered myself very lucky to pick up a copy of Miner 2049er Vol 1 & 2 for the 2600. When I got home and tried to play them on my 7800 I couldn't get the carts to fit into the 7800's cart slot. They didn't want to insert all the way into the system. I didn't want to force them too hard for fear of breaking the entire machine. And I did push pretty hard but to no avail. Is there a problem getting carts to fit into the 7800? I've had a few carts that seemed to fit very tight but not that wouldn't go into the system at all. Any advice would be appreciated. P.S. I do have a 2600 I could try playing them on, but it is in storage and I'd prefer to leave it that way since all my other 2600 games work fine in the 7800. A Frustrated Atari Fan Timballisto
