Force Command ver 1.17 : kinda like command.com from 1985

Ohh, something to look forward to in the new year! I like it! -
Anything is possible. I'll have search the house though, the only SD cards I can find at the moment are all high speed high capacity cards used for photography. If I remember correctly, the FinalGROM works best with smaller and slower cards, or was that just the FlashROM?

Regarding future development of Force Command... Since you've included the time in the BAR and have made it possible to use clock information in the prompt, and you also support multiple clocks, are you planning on supporting time and date information on files saved with/via Force Command? If not, is it because of a lack of space in the file information storage area or because it would screw up existing software? -

Yes, in the past it required a BATCH statement before the D/V 80 filename. Now, apparently, it's just supposed to run when you type the name, but I've dumped too much time into this today with nothing to show for it. So, I'm going to continue using my little proggies. -

Well, here's the thing(s); First, it's a habit, I started it this way back from the beginning of Force Command. Second it always works. Third, the files are already edited so it was quick to copy them over. Fourth, if I need a new one, it only takes about 30 seconds to sector edit the master file and copy it to my TIPI. Fifth, I've wasted an uncounted amount of time trying to get the new version to work, and have thrown up my hands in defeat so I'll just use what I have. What the heck, it works for me. Now with that all said, maybe I'm overlooking something. Here's a video of how it does not work (for me). Maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. -
Yes, as referenced in << Message #385 >> I'm seriously behind, I gotta dash!
-
I'm trying to run it exactly like I used to under version 0.M. From the Force Command prompt, I type: CD TIPI.WEATHER80. XB WEATHER80 I cannot devote anymore time to it right now though. It's a head scratcher. Anyway I'll be back after 4PM.

Hmmm, all I get is a blinking light on my FG99. XMOD=XB28GEMG XBADDR=32325 Well, I'll have to come back to this later in the evening. I have to do stuff (chores) I don't really want to do right now, but such is life.

I'm gonna go plug that in NOW, thanks!

Force Command ver 1.17 : kinda like command.com from 1985

I see I've been using a different method than you. I've taken to keeping my DOS boot screen to the bare minimum for speed. I also found that I really do not like editing menus every time I change something. So what I've been doing is using "loaders", small programs that load others containing all the long drawn out path statements. For example my opening screen looks like this: If I want to load up RemindMe! (The calendar program), I type LOAD CALENDAR and it executes the "loader" program... I've found this method extremely useful, and this little program has loaded things in the FC environment that I could not directly load before, for example Stuart's Internet Browser. I've included a few examples I use below. LOADERS.zip -
Weird, I tried with both TI's over the past couple of days. every time I've tried I couldn't connect. I'll go try again. Thanks. EDIT Yup, got through that time. Thanks!

@wolhess In that AUTOCMD file: ... have you thought of adding the SYSINFO command? It's kinda neat, even if it does not recognize a Triple Tech card. -
Is Heatwave down again, or is it just real busy? I've been unable to connect for the past couple of days.

Yeah, I've noticed that too! Whenever I change the prompt to something else that valuable information vanishes, so I had to type: "PROMPT=" to revert to normal. I guess my OCD is showing over a ">". -

As of yet, I'm unaware of a published entry point for the T80XB XBADDR. -
That's totally understandable. That could actually be included in the Legacy/Modern switch.
-
As a matter of fact, I don't! I have Force Command in the root directory, but I put XB 2.8 GEM in it's own subdirectory as it cluttered up the main screen. I will give that a shot and get back to you! Thanks! THAT WAS IT! YOU DA MAN!
-
Dunno what's going on. Force Command is on the FG99 as is the latest version of XB 2.8 GEM. This is what I get... Wazzup.mp4

Good cartridge! I remember buying it from Greg at Fest West 2016.

Well, now that I've given it a little bit more thought, I'd like to see a new modern joystick conversion interface developed for the TI in 2021. It would solely operate as Joystick #1, but use BOTH BUTTONS to make porting future more complicated games easier. It would output a FORWARD FACING USB connector for use with modern joysticks and to manage cramped spaces. It's 3D printed case would have a lip that went under the TI to make a velcro connection so it will not fall off. I dunno if it would require power or not, but 5V USB power supplies are cheap these days. Of course it would require two settings, LEGACY & MODERN. Hell, practically everything else on the TI has been updated, why not the joystick interface as well?
