  1. Hmmm, well, I can't mess with this anymore right now, I've been up all night getting nowhere fast and I have to start getting ready for work soon, good thing this is my Friday, because I'm gonna crash when I get home tonight. The plan is to start fresh Tuesday Afternoon (sounds like a song).
  2. Sorry to bother people with very basic questions, but I'm starting all over from scratch with the new versions of Force Command and the TIPI versions, I've also decided to make Extended BASIC 2.8 GEM my BASIC of choice due to the built in T80XB routines. With that in mind, I really need the following two questions answered... XBMOD= (for the cartridge) XBADDR=(for the entry point at T80XB) Thanks!
  3. I recently upgraded to the latest version of Force Command and XB 2.8 GEM. When I do a CALL FC from within T80XB, all I get is a blinking light on my FinalGROM. Am I overlooking something?
  4. Well, in the past, mentioning the mere idea of the game concept rustled a few feathers, so I figured an "advisory label" might be in order... just in case.
  5. Bummer, I have to go to work now, so I'll have to play later. Looks good so far though!
  6. I never, ever thought I would utter the following words... "I'm content with my current hardware situation for my TI's"
  7. This image was focus stacked before it was turned into an anaglyph. You'll need RED/BLUE glasses to view the image properly. ( CLICK ON IMAGE TO ENLARGE )
  8. My personal modem history started off with a TI Acoustic modem. It was 300 baud and required you to manually dial the number before connecting and then when connected, setting the telephone in the rubber cups. It was not so bad at first, because the were very few of us (about 8 people) calling the one and only BBS in town at the time. The program I used was the Texas Instruments "Terminal Emulator II" cartridge. The program really sucked because there was no way to save your session for later use, so I used a magnetic pickup on the phone and recorded the sessions to a cassette recorder for later playback through the modem. I know lame, but back then it's all we had. Later, as local activity picked up, I moved up to a 300 baud direct connect modem that would actually dial the number. I did not keep this modem very long because by then Compu$erve was charging by the minute and their dang menus would not allow direct access to pages, you had to go through others to get to what you wanted. My next modem was a Practical Peripherals 1200SA, that allowed me to download stuff faster from my local BBS, but I only kept this one for a short time as well because when the Practical Peripherals 2400SA came out I jumped on it. I kept the 2400 baud modem until I got out of the TI-99/4A. When I got into the PC I had a stint with an internal 9600 baud modem, but it sucked big time so I moved up to a 14.4 modem then a 28.8 because I was a running a "Point System" on FIDONET and wanted to get my mail packets in a timely fashion. Then the Internet arrived... and finally my last modem was a USR Robotics 56K Sportster. After the BBS's died off I chucked this modem as well and have been running routers ever since.
  9. This might be an interesting game for the contest thread. Anyone who wants it can have it, and since it's new most people are probably about the same skill level not having decades of practice under their belts.
  10. Not exactly sure what that all means but it sounds good.
  11. I recommend everyone BOOKMARK that link.
  12. What I didn't expect was Force Command recognizing the SAMS card.
  13. Had the day off, naturally being Christmas and all, so I decided to play. OMG, what a beautiful screen...
  14. I prefer my TI's, but sometimes I open the door on my Atari 5200 as well...
  15. Of course it counts! I think I'll wait until sometime after the new year to upgrade both my TIPI and Force Command versions on the main system... while keeping the SD cards with my current versions intact and in a safe place. I'm thinking about starting over from scratch because everything I have now resembles an interwoven mess of spaghetti. I've simply forgotten how many things have been altered and tweaked to work together.
  16. I'm going to have to check and see if I have Choplifter! on my 5200. I have so many things on that cartridge it's hard to remember what I have. Here's the Atari 5200 version... .. agreed very "doable" on an unenhanced TI. Now the 7800 version would probably require an F18... Nope, no Choplifter! on my multicart. 🙁
  17. Commander Keen, one of my old favorites... maybe "someday" on my favorite platform.
  18. You have to love eBay for the photographs alone. Many times I've found some great images of "historical value". It's cool you used it as a reference to make your own.
  19. Did anyone get anything for their TI this Christmas?
  20. A nice "Crisp & Clear" Christmas morning in my area.
  21. Yeah, I see that now. Sometimes I enter a forum at work using my cell phone during a break or on lunch, via the "latest activity" and get distracted, but from the timing of that post, I probably was not even totally conscious.
  22. That's not a stupid question at all. The games only controls on real iron are joystick related, so in Classic 99 you could set the Joystick 1 to "keyboard" and then use the arrow keys and tab as the fire button..
  23. Sooooo, did any of you newbies get by the tanks yet... WITHOUT training mode?
