Airshack, has written an original new game in 100% assembly language for the TI-99/4A! It's being released free to the TI community. I admit it, I'm biased, I love the concept, but it's no lie when I tell you it's a damn good game! It plays well, and even has a few puzzles to go with the game play and will not easily be beat in the first few plays like some games, but that's okay, he's included a practice mode! There are two different .BIN images, the ENK8 image is for the FlashROM or FinalGROM and the ENK512 image is for the UberGROM board. You can use either image in Classic 99. If you want to make your own cartridge a label is also included. A manual in .PDF format is also included. This game took him a few years to make as he amazingly learned assembly language along the way, so don't be shy, if you like it, please leave a message here to let him know. CAPS LOCK UP! See you in the south! Escape North Korea.pdf ENK Label.zip ENK8.bin ENK512.BIN

TIPI - Geneve 9640 to Raspberry PI interface development
Omega-TI replied to 9640News's topic in TI-99/4A Development
Yeah no kidding! I hope he posts the file that genetated it... and here is hoping it's not Geneve specific. -

I bought mine in late 1981 because it had color, sound, speech and I could hook it up to my TV giving me a lower entry level cost, or so I thought at the time. I was also taken in by the misleading 16 bit advertising, being totally ignorant to the throttled nature of it's architecture at the time. Now being that I found out rather early that the bare bones console was next to totally worthless, I went out and splurged for Extended BASIC and started to see some possibilities, so I bought a P-Box. Within a couple of months after that Texas Instruments gave all us users the middle finger and abandoned us. By this time I was financially locked-in to the system. The plus side is that prices for some things came down. With the somewhat lower prices I bought an RS-232 card and modem, followed by TI-Writer, Multiplan and some other stuff. Later, over the years I added a Triple Tech card, CorComp Floppy Controller and more disk drives, built a custom hutch with a 19" monitor and settled in. My SuperCart with 4A/DOS gave me a working environment I was somewhat content with. It seemed though that I always wanted more... a trait I still have with the TI, like I'm sure everyone here has noticed. The end for me came because I was an "isolated user" as the nearest users group was over 35 miles away and all my local friends had moved on to Commodores, Atari's and PC's. Even with PC-Pursuit and Compu$erve the cost to benefit ratio combined with limited expansion capability and not being able to perform some needed tasks sealed the deal. The TI though always remained near and dear to my heart. During my TI time, I bought a TRS-80 Model III and an NEC PC-8201A portable for more important uses, but ended up getting rid of the TRS-80 within a couple of years. I held on to the NEC to about 1995. After coming back to the TI realm around eight years ago, I've had much more fun and enjoyment with it as so many smart people have learned over the decades how to exploit the weaknesses and even bypass them to enable the machine do everything I had ever wanted and more.

When a person takes offense, it only confirms that the truth hurts and also confirms they realize the truth (of their actions). However, when they continue to do it anyway, showing they don't care about how many threads they've trashed over the years... well, who would really be the jerk?

Ooooh, nice post! 😍

Man I hear ya! I'm still using Ulead's PhotoImpact 7 on my Windows 10 machine. Other than a registry notification at startup it still works like a champ.

Ahem, here is a nice little reminder that could be used in 2021...

Hey, Sparky... I'm getting excited about them actually giving Choplifter! some thought, please don't jinx it! 🤞

This auction also has "reprints" from BYTE magazine at $60.00 and the MAKE OFFER button is active. Shipping seems reasonable as well. However, the auction you posted is actually better as they are the original documents. If one only wanted the information (like in these reprints) I'm sure it's free for the downloading somewhere on the Internet.

I need some input/advice on restoring the TI cover
Omega-TI replied to Omega-TI's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Thanks guys! It's not perfect, but it is an improvement! -
I had very little, (as in next to none), knowledge of the Apple II computer, but a long time ago I did see this program that looked rather cool. I ran into today on YouTube, but I don't think I ever saw it for the TI, even though I had heard some talk about it coming out. Still looks like fun.

Not exactly today, but yesterday a couple of cartridge boards I ordered arrived so I put Pengo in one and today I finished up today with TI-Lander in the other...
-
... oh, I forgot, here's the cartridge label if you want to print your own.

When and why did YOU get into the TI-99/4A back in the day? Was it a gift, like a Christmas or birthday present? Did you buy it for a specific reason over the all the other options? How long did you have it before you started plowing money into it? How long did you keep it or did you never get rid of it? What did you primarily use it for back in the day? I'm sure everyone will have a good story to tell.

I need some input/advice on restoring the TI cover
Omega-TI replied to Omega-TI's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
I'll give that a try after the new year. No, it's not real leather, it might be "pleather". -
...I also stuffed @Vorticon's TI-LANDER image into a dedicated cartridge... TI-LANDER 512K.BIN

What are your 2021 goals or plans for the TI?
Omega-TI replied to Omega-TI's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Cool! I've never seen a MaxiMem before.... -
Today, I had a few minutes to play around, so I did a mockup of a manual cover to add to my catalog project.

... it's also extremely gratifying to see a TI hidden in the photo! -
If you ever get tired of listening to the same old Christmas music year after year, decade after decade, you could click on the YouTube link below.

A few years ago I purchased a cover off of ebay for my TI, but it came with some "folds" or "lines" that I hoped would disappear over time, but haven't. I know a few of you out there also have the same cover, so I'll ask you... If you had the same issue and fixed it, how did you do it? As you can see the "folds" ruin the entire appearance. Thanks!

I went looking all over AtariAge for Bleepbit and cannot seem to find him. Does anyone know? It appears he's not been around since August of 2019!
