I just really had a blast playing this game today! All the different versions were enjoyable.

So great how you guys managed to assemble the different versions into a single .bin image.

I like the entire "Lunar Collection" being in one image.

Yeah, I'm eventually going to have to get off my azz and learn how to make a multiple game image.

well, nice job! a good label you done anyway. We could use this one now!

Thanks, I posted it in the usual place << HERE >>.

Thanks to @OLD CS1 sending me some beige cartridges, I've been able to re-task them to useful life.

I used an MBX just once, at the italian TI-TREFF, and I was unable to use most of the features.

So I don't know much about it. Thanks fo the description, that I read with much curiosity. I am hit by the following:

What does it mean? What's the purpose of the headset if it does not send audio?

How many of those were made?

I bet they are difficult to find.

According to Ninerpedia 150, but I think I've heard only 50 working ones are known to exist, which may be in error.  Hopefully someone more knowledgeable on the matter like @Ksarul will jump in.

I've seen a couple show up on eBay over the years, but I'm not even in the running at the prices they go for.

  5. On another note, since no official label has been released, @ti99iuc hasn't made one, and I was not artistically inspired, I ripped off the opening screen, juggled a couple of items and ended up with this...  it works for me! 👍   I enjoy the hobby aspects of making my own.

I don't think I'm ever likely to have an MBX system, though.

I know "I'll*" never own one, because out of the box it has too many strikes against it to have any appeal to "me".

Strike one   --  It's big and would take up too much desk area to keep hooked up.  (I simply don't have the room).

Strike two   --  There is very little available for it.  (Which means it would get little to no use at all).

Strike three --  They sell for too damn much.  (The cost to benefit ratio sucks).

    So.... YER OUT! Umpire.png.90332638d2af967c0eedb4d382f83ed9.png

One thing is making a fan tribute and perhaps "getting your costs covered" (Astrosmash), another thing is "making money" (slightly suggested above) off of what appears to be a port (Berzerk).

For me, this instance is really in a different category.  After reading the thread @arcadeshopper linked to, the guy has gone through hell recently leading up to and including the loss of his wife.  Setting the game aside, I had no problem donating a little, the more I thought about it, the more it seemed like the right thing.

  8. Why not have it check for the existence of a configuration file?  If no file exists, load DSK1.LOAD as normal, if it's there, it can have any number of options.

EDIT. Never mind, I replied before I got down to the last message in the thread that said you'll keep it as is.

  9. Has the Borzork cartridge end label been released to the community yet, or has anyone made one?  I'm trying to maintain the...

... but I notice it's lacking ANY label for Borzork, which in my humble opinion deserves it's own cartridge!

This image simply does not cut the mustard as it's so low quality and I don't know if the author would even approve of using the official one in any capacity.

The "original" TI file system can handle a maximum of 127 files and 114 subdirectories (==241 names) per directory. The VDP memory is already used to buffer pathnames while copying directory structures.

Considering the age in which our little computer was designed, the types of storage media available back then, and the fact that it was marketed as a 'relatively' low priced 'Home Computer', it's served quite well.

I read this and all that came to mind was our tinted plastic bundt cake storage container we have in the pantry. Add an LED and way you go.  Boy would someone in the house be surprised to find TI gear in her cake storage unit.  lol

HA!  A miss-conception of the design.. imagine a wheel where the cartridge labels are like tread and the part that fits in the TI is where all the cartridges converge together around a spindle no bigger around than your pinky finger.

Aww you're no fun, Omega. Admit it, Feature Creep good! :-D

Yeah, I admit it, I can be no fun (at times).  Thing is, going full literal at the moment, if this even has the slimmest chance of coming to fruition, the unit cost has to be low enough that people can afford to buy it, the maker needs some incentive (money/profit).  So after all the time invested to design and print, the market would have to support an unknown number of sales to make it all worthwhile.  This is why I'm doubtful, but hey, nothing ventured nothing gained.

If you design it with a dark glass/plastic cover, then add usb power and a white led light to light it up when spun, and timeout when stopped..lol

My thoughts are for a simple cartridge holder, nothing more.  The guys here have made some terrific games and cartridges over the years, stuff I actually play, so hell, I wanna show em off too.  This would do the trick quite nicely.
