  1. The other day I was trying to entice one of the seniors I have coffee with to get into the TI by showing him an UberGROM board and what he would be able to do with a "starter system". Anyway he noticed the pin labeled 5V... and the question he came up with was totally out of left field, even for me. He asked if it could support a "hyper bright LED". Apparently he would want the cartridge to illuminate the keyboard while his wife sleeps! I guess he has room for a TI in his bedroom. So, if I can set him up with a cartridge that has an LED at the end of some kind of "articulated thingy" coming out of the cartridge case, he's in. W E I R D !
  2. Claustrophobic people are more productive thinking out of the box.

  3. A few years ago I simply had to have the Rasmus 8-N-1 Arcade in a cartridge, even after the FinalGROM 99 came out I transferred it to a blue transparent case. When the Atarisoft Games Collection was released, that to had to have it's own case as well, which has recently been transferred to a beige case. Now S.C.R.A.A. is special (to me at least) so that one was plunked into a cartridge as well. Now the guys here keep coming out with goodies, so first Lunar Mission 2 went into a cartridge, only to be replaced with the "Lunar Collection". I've been waiting to see if Ciro makes a label for it, because quite frankly he does a damn good job with them. If not, come January I'll design my own. Now Airshack's new game Escape North Korea simply had to have it's own cartridge as well. Jetpack and Tutankham have their own cases as well, although I don't really play them. It goes without saying that Dragon's Lair MUST be in cartridge form. Currently I have one empty UberGROM looking to house something, I dunno what it'll be yet, but if the guys here keep making goodies, and I have every reason to believe they will, 2021 is sure to bring something super cool. I have to give a shoutout of thanks to Ksarul, as he's been my dealer feeding my needs for cartridge boards and chips.
  4. Many of us download and try out games in Classic 99 or on our TI's these days using the FinalGROM, but every once in a while a special (to us) program 'tickles our fancy' and is elevated, for any number of reasons, to having it's own cartridge. Which/what program(s) have done it for you in the last few years?
  5. If at first you don't succeed, call it Version 1.0

    1. No One You Know

      No One You Know

Or do it the modern way where you call it version 0.3 or alpha 1 or something.

  6. Okay, I made a quick one. Can you find the new item on this old catalog page?
  7. Anyone have a copy of this manual and the program to go with it? I have a few TI cassette tapes that I would like to label with period software for nostalgia's sake. I figure printing to the TIPI and then printing out the PDF should work. I tried another program a while back, but it never printed out the correct size, maybe this one will.
  8. Wow, looks like this thread is augering in. I guess just for the sake of it, I'll have to throw one together sometime in the coming week.
  9. It's not a good idea to rob from Peter to pay Paul because no one wants a sore Peter!

Keep these up.  I stole one of your jokes and used it on my work's Yammer site.  This one, probably not though.  :D

  10. It's nice and all that they have CHEAP wireless USB gamepad controllers for the PC like << THIS ONE >> at Amazon, but damn, WHY no affordable joystick types for old codgers like myself that cannot so diddly squat with these new fangled game pads?
  11. IIRC it was in 1978. The Model I kiosk was in front of the store. The folks had come to town for shopping and I always headed to Radio Shack for parts, new gadgets... as well as to use my handy dandy "Radio Shack Battery Card(s)". 😄 I stood in front of that thing for a couple of hours the first time. My Dad eventually came and got me as he knew exactly where I would be. When he saw what I was playing with, he let my tardiness slide that time. Years later I would get a Model III... which I bought in Canada for a very specific reason.
  12. Oh, by the way, a manual will be released the same day as the game...
  13. Hmmm, looks like when things slow down in January I'm going to have to update after all!
  14. Hear about the guy that was fired from the keyboard factory?  It turned out he was not putting in enough 'shifts'.

Well, there's got to be a CTRL process, so in the End, the dude needed to go Home.

      On his F1 Fighter jet.

And drink a Tab, before it is pulled off the shelf.

  15. Thank you Spark Drummer. I sent this over to the TIPI, and will check it out tonight. I did a quick verification that it worked in classic 99 and found that the opening selection screen looks more legible smaller instead of bigger. That's a first!
  16. ... I don't think I'd want one at any price.
  17. I tried to my make my work computer password “beefstew”.
But the IT guy said it wasn’t stroganoff.

I've done some stroganoff at my computer in my day...

  18. Why were older computers heavier?  Because they used a FAT file system!

      jaybird3rd

Yo filesystem's so fat ... it needs an allocation table for TWO!

Yo operating system is so large that it uses Doors instead of Windows.

  19. Saw this on eBay today, and it gave me a good laugh, so I thought I'd share it... I dunno but with two modulators and a switcher for one TI, it makes you wonder if the thing has video issues, regardless of the LED 'coming on'.
  20. These unedited images of the TURBO XT were 'unwittingly donated' by an eBay seller. 😜
  21. I love eBay, I'm not always interested in buying what someone has to offer, but many times, while not perfect, they do upload some useful photos!
  22. @blackbox Thanks for the heads up on pages 10 & 11, I fixed the issue and did a test print (with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC) in "Booklet Setting" and it came out perfect. Anyway, here is the PDF of it. Disk of the Old West.pdf
