  1. <GRIN> Yeah, we do seem to have a disproportionate amount of post! 😄
  2. Cool let me know when you post a picture of your Commodore setup and I'll go over to the Commodore section and take a peek! I also agree with you about AtariAge being the best! 👍
  3. Would you buy a new piece of hardware for your classic computer if in all probability little, if anything in the way of software would ever be made for it?

New hobbyist hardware made today? Nope not a chance unless it was something with extraordinary promise and scope.

I have a number of 40+ year old vintage Apple II peripherals from bitd that are one-hit-wonders. No 3rd party software ever made, only the disks and type-in listings that came with it.

Very vast possibility. I think if it's affordable enough with a killer program to utilize it then it could do well even if for a single use application.

  4. Know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to walk away...
  5. One can always ponder... WHAT IF someone devoted their precious time and money to develop a Super Duper Awesome Upgraded Memory Device? WHAT IF it could magically bank switch on it's own to appear to be one large easy to use memory for users. WHAT IF you could afford to buy one. You have to realize... "Someone" would have to write the huge programs to run on a new device that hardly anyone owns, that's a hard sell. Without software to use it, what's the point of purchasing one? Lots of people already own a SAMS. I don't know about others, but I'm not about to rip out my SAMS just to replace it with something that could take YEARS to be usable. Current alternative... If someone did have a killer application or game idea, the currently popular and available FinalGROM could be utilized to house such a program. My opinion... I looked forward to new toys for my TI like the TIPI and FinalGROM, because they play nice with existing hardware and software and didn't make things I have incompatible. Even if something magically appeared tomorrow, I truly doubt I would buy one as I would have no current use for it. I'm sticking with the SAMS card, as even now things are starting to trickle out and use it.
  6. That sounds logical, but in the past, the size shown has also been associated with the size of the .BIN image. For instance: Example #1: << CLICK HERE >> Example #2: << CLICK HERE >> Since the posted image size was 128K, not 32K, in piqued my interest.
  7. Dunno, considering there do not appear to be any newer or supported products on the hobbyist market, and the fact that they are still being built, one could consider it the modern day solution sans any viable alternatives.
  8. I understand, different strokes for different folks. To me though, that configuration would force me into being tethered to one spot with the power, cord, video cable and everything hanging off the back side. With the Argon One case I'm free to move about with a lightweight keyboard. Of course there are also KODI users that need no keyboard at all!
  9. Yesterday I needed to search & find an old hot spot on AtariAge from 2017. I've decided to make SCRAA it's own individual cartridge, so I located the PDF manual SCRAA Manual.pdf and the 32K image so I could turn it into a 512K image for an UberGROM board It's still an awesome game, if you've not tried it, give it a shot! SCRAA.bin SCRAA512-8.BIN I'm sure there are other really cool things that could be revisited as well, if you know of one, post it here!
  10. The << Argon One case >> with a USB wireless keyboard is another option that can keep you unencumbered from wires.
  11. I hear old cartridges make good substitutes for clay pigeons...
  12. How many different TI-99/4A systems do you currently have setup and operating in your home?
  13. Yes, this could be a major issue. The OEM's of many of the TRS-80 line of printers were not all the same if memory serves. You may have to try many different printer drivers to even find some basic compatibility. Good luck!
  14. ... anyway here is a 512K image for the UberGROM. LM512K-8.BIN
  15. What's up with the image named 32K-8?
  16. Awww Maaaan, now I gotta open up the cart and re-burn! (Actually that's not a problem, just kidding) So, Ciro... is there and updated label for this too? I'll wait for an answer, because I don't want to make a video that's already out-of-date.
  17. Hell No! For "truly inspired writing", you need to listen to music, I've found these four INSTRUMENTAL tunes to be quite soothing and productive... #1 #2 #3 #4
  18. You have to click on the clock to see it...

I clicked my clock but still seen nothing. Thought maybe a bit harder, used the hammer now all I see is a broken clock 😕

I have an PAL RF modulator for a TI-99 or 4A that I got from a car boot sale but I don't actually have the machine. "UHF channel 36 PAL modulator PHA 2035 for home computer" with big TI badge in the middle, a cable with some weird DIN connector on the end coming out, and a coax port on the side.

Emergency escape man in proper use. BTW I have a logitech keyboard jsut like that, it's my only wireless keyboard but I don't like typing on it very much because of the way the keyas are, and the mouse is lost currently.

  19. Doh! I'm glad you mentioned that! Come to think of it, I already have a HomeworX DVR that would probably work that way and give me the ability to RECORD my games as well! NOPE! It picks up DIGITAL signals only. Bummer!
  20. Purchased a couple of extra cartridge boards today (like the one shown below). Even though I have a couple of multi-carts, some of the games & ports lately by AtariAge members deserve their own special cart.
