  1. Bummer that the '04 update you mentioned was before the F18A came into existence. I would pulled the 9918's and replaced them and saved the expense of buying new computers too. I'm sure for the purpose they served, it would have been fine to continue using something older, after all it's a museum right?
  2. ^^^ No ambiguity there, just straight and to the point non-verbal communication!
  3. ... well I'll be... the "Schmitzonian" does have a TI-99/4A! << CLICK HERE >>
  4. Schmitzi (and other Star Trek fans), You'll love this video... I personally cannot wait to get my hands on the computer 3D interactive version in the future. A guy couls spend literally days examining the big "D". Oh yeah, look for the "3 sea shells"! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l28KDuRrPYU

  6. I did not know about this. I signed up and posted a couple of video directing to Atari Age just in case they stumble on it.
  7. If you have an HDX, you can pull the FDC and get all that extra memory back on RI! After you load an old larger program from tape, you can save it to your PC's HD too. << EXPERIMENT >>
  8. Light at the end of the tunnel MAY be a good thing... ... as long as it's NOT a train coming straight at you!
  9. All these pictures are gonna put you over 2K posts today!
  10. Send me a PM when you have a chance and fill me in on what you need.
  11. Hmmm, what yer plannin' Schmitzi? Are ya going to digitize the pictures with Tursi's program and make some kinda fancy Nuevo-TOD Cartridge Version with F18A enhanced graphics?
  12. Seems to work just fine in 80 columns with the F18A on R.I.
  13. Hey, this looks a little like a modified science fiction adaption of Hammurabi in a small way. Oh yeah, and an 80 selection too! I'll try and gingerly make my way to the TI and give it a test.
  14. I'm not qualified to help you out on this, but I did notice something in the photo... Those two chips look like they were soldered rather poorly. If that's not dirt, I'd start by cleaning up and re-doing those joints.
  15. The problem could be anything, however as an experiment you could investigate this... http://atariage.com/forums/topic/242219-hfdc-as-floppy-only-controller/?p=3310989
  16. Oh yeah. 1.44's don't work all that well. << GET 720K's >> Ignore this post, I had a brain fart.
  17. << CLICK HERE >> then page down to page 15 of the PDF also listed as 112. You'll probably need to unsolder the teeny tiny little jumper and move it,
  18. You might also consider reading this thread started by Wyerd.
  19. Yeah it was a curse, HD's were easy, but try running multiple comports and printers BITD with the limited architecture. The IRQ & DMA settings would drive you nuts. If I tried to use my TNC and modem at the same time, I could kiss my mouse goodbye for the duration.
  20. F18A? Could the necessary computations be done in that little piece of 'modern' equipment?
  21. A Nano-PEB is basically a CF7, but with a serial port instead of a parallel port. The new Nano-PEB was modified to work with the F18A, which is about the best thing video-wise you can do for your TI. Now since you 'need them all'... something I completely understand and relate to, you might want to consider the following 'cool things' once you pick up a P-Box: HDX modification, Extended BASIC 2.7 Suite, Lotharek HxC, or you could even make your own cartridges. Then once you do that you could even modify your controller card to get some extra space. I'm sure some of the other can come up with ways for you to spend your money too! Now you can get a LOT of information and books (in electronic for at these sites: ftp://ftp.whtech.com/ and http://www.hexbus.com/tibooks/ ... that should get you started.
