  1. Yep! My favorite cartridge of all time WAS my dedicated 4A/DOS cartridge on an UberGROM that bypassed all the startup screens with a little help from @Tursi, then @jedimatt42 came out with his Force Command for the FinalGROM 99 and well, that was all she wrote.
  2. On the subject of cartridges, what WAS (past tense) your most highly prized and favored cartridge you now rarely or never use anymore? Why?
  3. Back in the day many of us used the Terminal Emulator II cartridge to get onto the BBSes and Compuserve, as other programs on disk became available like Telco, fewer people used it to get online due to speed issues, lack of ANSI support or even a buffer. Later, for BASIC programs with speech it still had a purpose, however with the advent of many more capable games easily downloaded, it would be interesting to see how many people still have and use this once popular cartridge.
  4. You know, that's a great idea. Next week when I have more time I'll have to consider that.
  5. I've started a new gallery for TI-99/4A related stuff. If you ever wanted to see some "up close and personal images", please give it a look... and some feedback if you like.
  6. I had a few minutes today to go through this thread today and noticed some of the pictures are no longer available, and many are a few years old now. I also figure quite a few of you have also updated your systems over the years, soooooo how about we get some new, replacement and updated photos? I've always loved seeing your systems, and can't imagine I'm the only one.
  7. In the past, some people without an E/A cartridge or Extended BASIC cartridge were said to use the "utility" option to load E/A5 programs off of disk. Now days with so many other options available and so many different and updated word processors, does anyone still use the TI-Writer cartridge?
  8. I guess at this point in time I guess the question needs to be asked... what programs REQUIRE a SuperCart, that cannot be run with a FinalGROM? (The assumption is due to the additional 4K and the way the program is written.)
  9. Have you fired off a PM to Arcadeshopper? He often has at least one in stock.
  10. Want a little history of computer gaming? << THIS NETFLIX LIMITED SERIES >> seems kind of interesting (so far). You might want to give it a shot too. If you do not belong to Netflix, you can always try the 30 day free trial. 😜
  11. If you have Netflix, << click here >> for a nice looking limited series on video gaming. If you don't have Netflix, you can always try if free for 30 days.
  12. Nice to see, so far, that the cart is still being used! 👍
  13. Yup, images.google.com is a fast way to search, open another window, slide the photo over and instant gratification.
  14. Since the arrival of the FinalGROM 99, the question arises, if you owned one, and you now have a FG99, do you still use the Supercart?
  15. Wow, I don't think I'll be able to get anything near this nice with my low end lens.
  16. Yeah, the sky is looking as bleak tonight as last night. I'm curious to see what my 300mm telephoto lens will do with the 2.2X doubler attached. With that magnification I better hope for no wind even using the tripod. And yeah, I'm not gonna even touch the camera, I'll snap everything with the cellphone app. Hopefully I'll have something decent to show in a few days.
  17. These moon photos inspire me, but last night was standard Pacific Northwest weather, cloudy. I could not see it. 😪 I'll try again in a few days.
  18. I know getting a real working TRS-80 in good condition is not exactly cheap, but << THIS EBAY AUCTION >> is for essentially an emulator in a TRS-80 shell.
  19. I'd kind of like to know overall how the TRS-80's have held up over the years. I've heard a lot of stories like the Model III's always have a problem that is not easy or inexpensive to fix, so in the end many of them get disposed of (garbaged). It would also be interesting to find what the most common breakdown issues are and maybe have a clearinghouse for DYI PDF repair documents/instructional guides with photos for novices... it may keep a few more of these machines operating.
  20. When it comes to nostalgia for the TRS-80 Models 1, III, IV and 4P do you primarily run emulation, or have you taken the dive into the "Real Deal"? If you decided against emulation, what were your main drivers? If you went emulation only, why?
  21. If you make one with TIPI/32K lettering I expect a few people will be quite happy.
  22. Freakin Bloody Awesome!!! It almost makes me want to get a beige TI.
  23. Personally, if size is not an issue, you could get more bang for less bucks by getting << one of these >> and run that Pi for a LOT longer!
  24. Honestly I don't remember, but Greg can tell you.
