  1. I felt a little "artsy" this morning, so I thought I'd get a THIRD HAND VIEW of the TI Title screen.
  2. Yes, once you flash a new card and expand the card, you'll be able to restore everything. But instead of using the web interface, for a complete restore you may consider mapping your TIPI to your PC over your home network, that way you can highlight the entire contents of the SD card in one swoop and drag it to a folder on the PC and copy it back later as seen below. BACKUP.mp4
  3. When you do get a FinalGROM, you might start loading Stuart's Browser like this, and pressing the reset button on it to go right back to DOS when finished. Load.mp4
  4. The TRS-80 version uses two keys on each side with the space key for fire. It's quite easy to play.
  5. Yup, sadly. The TI has some amazing games, like the goodies Rasmus and others have released over the last few years and we even have a version of Dragon's Lair crying out loud... but seriously, no freakin BattleZone clone? I'm embarrassed for the TI. BattleZone was one of the most fun games to hit the market (IMHO), and yes even the TRS-80 has a simple, but fun to play version. Maybe I need to make a hall of shame video... 🙄
  6. Sadly, when it comes to tank games, even the lowly TRS-80 has the TI beat, even with funky chunky blocky graphics.
  7. Okay... One more question. There's so much stuff there... any recommendations on really cool stuff?
  8. Awesome! I cannot wait for my next day off to play!
  9. Hey, thanks for the heads up. This looks pretty slick!
  10. That sounds kinda cool, but alas I have no dedicated NAS on my network. If I'm using my portable TIPI there is a good chance I'm not even home, so a NAS would not be optimal for that need. About once a month I highlight all the files on my networked P-Box TIPI and drag them to a backup folder on my PC for safe keeping in case anything goes wrong. Simple and effective... for me at least. At this point in time I cannot justify a fancy expensive Synology type RAID box, although a poor mans unit running a Rpi with a single drive might be in my future, who knows. All told I don't have more than 6TB of data, but at least it's backed up. I know many of you guys here have more money, greater computer skills, and are even IT gurus and programmers. For me the equipment I use is mainly to support my video and photography needs with a little gaming here and there. The idea of spending that much money mainly to support a 40 year old TI-99/4A with a miniscule amount of software and data is not in the cards for me. If I had a lot of money to burn/blow, I'd rather get a Canon EF 400 f/4 DO IS II USM lens or the more respectably priced Sigma 150-600 5-6.3 OG OS HSM lens for my camera body.
  11. I gave a wild rabbit some carrot shavings, now it comes back every evening looking for a handout...
  12. It's a good thing most people will never need to remove the SD card from their PEB-TIPI unit, because doing so is kind of a pain in the neck. First you have to pull out that huge P-Box, open the lid, remove the card, get some tweezers or needle nose pliers and remove the card, then reverse the whole procedure to put it all back together again. After I got my portable TIPI unit, I figured it would simpler to swap the same card back and forth so I did not have to maintain two separate configurations... as long as it could be removed as easily as on the portable unit. Well, I've been using the SD card extender for a while now and it does a great job. Another benefit is that I did not have to map two more TIPI locations to my network as the mapping is to the individual RPi, not the SD card, so a quick swap is all it takes. Oh yeah... this lets you use any full size SD cards you may have lying around as well, so you can use your newer, smaller and faster ones on other equipment.
  13. Thanks, I used the online emulator and it's the program I was looking for, but the disk file would not work in my old TRS32 emulator. Is there another preferred emulator people are running on the PC now... one you don't have to go hunting for ROM images?
  14. Does anyone have the Hammurabi game for the TRS-80? It was in BASIC IIRC.
  15. Understand. Yeah, Linux is out of my realm, I only know enough to put NOOBS on an SD card and to choose either KODI or Raspbian, but that's about it. Honestly, I have neither the time nor inclination to dig into learning Linux. I have a cool TRS-80 emulator that I run on a RPi 3, something like that, but for the TI, running on the laptop would be neat too. I'll probably have to let this wish go.
  16. Over the past year I've wanted to task an old out-of-date laptop as a TI only box, so I'll try to peek in from time to time to see how it's going. While I'm not really interested in a Geneve emulation, a distro that only emulates a TI would be the bomb. I'd need something totally idiot proof though, you know something that would install itself, wipe out Windows and goes straight to the TI title screen on boot up. What I have now runs out of XP and seemingly takes forever to get up and running, so of course I rarely use it.
  17. Nice idea... it's really early but... NOTE: This calendar REQUIRES legal sized paper for proper printing. JAN2021 - TRS-80 FreHD.pdf
  18. I found a few sources... #1 << HERE >> #2 Just the inserts << HERE >> The pricing kinda blows though...
  19. That's pretty freaking slick. I wonder where the seller ordered them from? If they can no longer be purchased, a 3D printer might be able to do the trick.
  20. Which model of TRS-80? Model I, III, IV, CoCo? I'm assuming since it's for cartridge games it's the CoCo. Which model of CoCO?
  21. You can order this case << HERE >> There are files at Thingiverse for a case for both the 32K & the TIPI units combined by @jedimatt42 << HERE >> but no public domain single 32K case that I know of. I included a place to purchase a really nice and affordable one above due to the lack of a downloadable STL file.
  22. Graphics? Yeah, sorta... blocky, but the games were still playable as these examples show...
