An F18A version would probably blow them all out of the water, if the Rasmus' Mario Bros. port/demo is any example.

I'd get lost with all those wires poking out like that... and what a nightmare ever finding a fault! I liked the old Radio Shack P-Box kits as a kid, but they were too small for the really good projects. I used perf board as I got older, but honestly those red boxes and perf boards never looked classy enough to show off my latest pride and joy. Over the years, projects that use discrete components began to disappear, but now many of the new items are combining user assembled components again with pre-existing tech like Raspberry Pi, Arduino's and other stuff. Now even when you find a P-Box on Ebay, the sellers want too damn much for them. Recently one guy had a P-Box with a reserve of over $60.00... he's relisted it several times.
Too small, too expensive and look way too cheap.
The new version is classy... and if I ever make a project for the TI-99/4A... it'll match! 😋 I'm really into this new base & design, but as I look for my first project, I'm wondering, is there anything TI-99/4A related anyone has been sitting on that could use a platform like this?

Since I mention this here a couple of days ago, I figured now that it's available, I should post the link. So, << HERE IT IS >>
So now if you want to design, make/build any project, you can do with a little organization and style.
Man this gets me excited! What R U gonna make?

A dream come for many of us! Who says you cannot relive the fun of your youth, "slightly updated" for 21st century technology!

<< This is an Arduino based MicroComputer Trainer >> based off the old Radio Shack model @Vorticon has...
In a few days there will be a cool new platform to build your projects on too!

Most people who are into the 5200 either have all of these already or have an Atarimax cart and don't care (like you). I'd try for what Shawn said and try to get $50. Maybe $65 shipped and then ship them all in a $15 medium flat rate priority mail box....and walk away with $50
I might do this, it seems like a shame after all the effort I put into obtaining and restoring a couple of them, but I gotta get rid of stuff. (sigh)

I dunno if it's over engineered or not, but the fact that they've held up over the decades is a testament to their quality.

Man, that hardly seems worth the time.

I cannot remember who it was, but a few years back there used to be someone selling TI stuff, that after he sold a couple he would raise the price, making it look like people actually paid the obscene amount, which they didn't. I considered it quite deceptive.

I didn't know people still used checkbooks, but here is the PDF of @blackbox's always awesome scans.

I'm in the process of downsizing and am trying to get rid of stuff that I no room for, but some items are not worth the effort to ship, like the nice backup P-Box, so it simply sits taking up room. (sigh)

No way a cardboard box will ever be worth more than a P-Box from my point of view.

Fresh case, but the price stinks.

I popped in today, same as above. Let us know when you update.

This whole concept has me excited to no end. I'll use myself as an example here... you all know how rabid and devoted I am towards the TI-99/4A, but the truth is, if it were not for the F18A VGA upgrade giving me crisp and clear video, I probably would have dropped it years ago. If I could get a fairly easy to install HDMI output option for my 5200, I'd be more "into it". I believe many of us would jump at the chance to buy this option if it was available.
With new options, comes new or renewed interest and that drives sales of used units, cartridges, multicarts and even leads to new games and/or ports. The 5200 could truly be a resurgent platform.

Anything maybe possible for the 400/800/1200 etc. But for the 5200 I'd be super happy just to have a crisp clear clean video image. It would probably increase my 5200 user time over 1,000%

Thanks for the honest feedback guys. Sadly, it hardly seems worth the effort.

It wouldn't be so bad if they didn't consistently suck at doing their jobs. I mailed an item to a friend in December that never arrived, so I burned a couple more and sent them out as well. He got the second set, but no word about the first. Now Ping-Ponging the mail is nothing new in my neck of the woods, a few years ago an item went back and forth between Portland and Seattle THREE FREAKING TIMES before it was finally delivered. Still, I think I have more respect (which is very little), for the USPS than I do for UPS.
