  1. Better?! The make up and that dude's frighteningly large tongue were the only good things about that band.
  2. Bosconian is available on Namco's Vol. 1 collection for playstation.
  3. Congrats Jason! I gotta say I'm anxious to enter the next competition though. So get going homebrewers!
  4. Ha! I think you must be right 'cause that score is low. I just got up to 322. Time for me to quit and go to bed though.
  5. Man I'm really rockin' this game. I just got a score of 294 which beats the TG record. And I got it on tape.
  6. Ok so I just got Data Age's Bugs at a thrift store and I've seen it slammed many times in these forums. I'm pretty addicted at the moment. Am I the only one who doesn't think that this game is horrible? I mean sure it's frustratingly difficult and you can't play a game for very long but I could say the same for the beloved Kaboom!. Most of Data Age's games really blow but at the moment I'm digging this one. Am I the only one here people?
  7. I've often wondered about some of these folks as well. Like the guy who did Warlords and a few others. I've often tried to discern his signature on the instruction manual. It looks like Steve Henshilm or something. Does anyone have any info on any of these illustrators?
  8. I guess it's already been said several times but DEFENDER. I actually just bought this game yesterday and played it for the first time. I was fairly disappointed. Easily the most flickery game I've ever played. The last time I played I passed right through a flickering enemy. I don't know what you guys who say it doesn't bother you are talking about!
  9. I just sent in my first ever label contest entry and thought I'd post it here too. There are some really great ones already but I had to enter. I tried to give it a style unlike the others by hand painting the image. Didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, but it was fun.
  10. Good story, Rob. It really made me think about the days when my family first got an Atari and everybody played it. It's interesting to me because my parents never played any other system after that initial video game craze. I fondly remember my mom being obsessed with Kaboom while I can't really imagine her playing any video games today.
  11. I agree with the majority here in saying Warlords is the best. However I always thought the two player modes in Worm War I were fun, although a bit frustrating. You can play competitively or cooperatively. I always thought the cooperative mode was pretty unique because two players share the same score and fuel.
  12. There are still a lot of games including some popular ones that I have never played but my favorite is Seaquest. Some other ones I love include Wizard of Wor, Pressure Cooker, Breakout, and Worm War I. I'm also fond of a lot of the Supercharger games. I'm suprised at the number of votes for Kaboom. It is a fun and addictive game but I think it's pretty hard. Maybe I suck but I just can't keep that game going very long!
  13. Something that perhaps should be taken into consideration in this debate is the fact that many families probably purchased multiple gameboys where as this would happen much less frequently than with a console like a 2600 or NES. The fact that it's portable means its more likely to get broken and then replaced, plus you've got the games that involve linking two gameboys together. I know my family has purchased at least three of them over the years. Heck if you want to collect all the pokemon you pretty much gotta have two in order totrade them back and forth from the different versions of the game.
  14. Hey now, don't be so hard on Minya. I love that little bugger.
  15. According to that link, Excalibur was released as Sword of Saros. It looks like they use to offer the cd for sale but the link no longer comes up. I wonder what's up with that.
  16. Ok, I'm new here and I want to get in on making some of these labels for contests and what not but I have a really dumb question. My computer skills are sorely lacking. If I get the atari fonts from the archives onto my computer where do I put them so I can use them in Photoshop. I put them in the common files/adobe/fonts folder but that's not doing it. Sorry I'm so retarded but if someone could reply or send me a personal message or something I would greatly appreciate it. ~Matt
  17. Hey aren't the kids in Vacation playing an Atari at the beginning of the movie? Or was it just supposed to seem like an Atari? I seem to remember them mapping out their trip on the screen or something too.
