  1. Ah yep, a Paypal claim is the way to go then. If he shipped it with a game cartridge inserted, then I was going to say that perhaps USPS was rough on the package and the game cartridge acted a lever on the board and broke those traces. Out of curiosity, what is the sellers total feedback score up to?
  2. Did he ship it with the game cartridge inserted into the Jaguar?

  4. I think "Atari the Jedi" is asking what he should offer his friend (who owns a retro game store) for an Atari Jaguar that his friend has recently acquired. For a working Jaguar with the necessary hookups and two controllers I would say about $100. Here's a link to recently ended auctions on ebay for Atari Jaguar consoles to give you a general idea of their values: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2FVideo-Game-Consoles-%2F139971%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3Datari%2520jaguar%26_pppn%3Dr1%26_dcat%3D139971%26LH_Complete%3D1 To do searches like that for specific games just type in the name of the game in the search field. Then on the left-side column specify that you are looking for a game and not an accessory or system. Then scroll down and on the left-side column click on "More Refinements". At the bottom-left of the menu that pops up click on "Show Only". Lastly check the box "Completed Listings". If you want to get a better AC adapter, then here is my source. This guy has hundreds of brand new, OEM Atari Jaguar AC adapters: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F120982505755%3FssPageName%3DSTRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT%26_trksid%3Dp3984.m1439.l2649
  5. Hello, every one! I have found a neat trick to make old plastic pieces shine as though they are new. There's a product for automobiles called "Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer" that is meant to be applied to the car's body after it has been washed. It's supposed to make the surface bead water away and make it easier to later apply car wax. So I have started using this stuff on the plastic pieces of the various game consoles I have worked on and it makes them look great! Some people have suggested using WD-40, but that's rather toxic and seems to evaporate after 4 or so weeks. Does any one know of any better tricks? Here's how my most recent Jaguar turned out: http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1555.l2649 Here's the car detailing product I currently use: http://www.amazon.co...r/dp/B000RXNLK6
  6. hm ... Have you cleaned the PCB pins on the game cartridge you are using? I usually just dip a que-tip (cheap cotton swab) in rubbing alcohol and then move it back and forth across the pins on the game cartridge. If that doesn't work, then maybe this thread will help: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/103198-bloody-red-screen-of-death/
  7. Hello, every one. I picked up a Jaguar recently that needed some repairs, but when I opened it up I discovered that it was modded at some point. While searching across the net I found an image of some one else's Jaguar with the exact same modifications. [ portion of that image attached below ] Has any one seen this mod before? I have no idea what it does, nor if it was completed. haha Are the two orange things tiny capacitors? (on the U23 chip on the right-hand side) Mine have 6 characters inscribed on them. It's too tiny for me to read, but it seems to be some thing like: n2n 101
