  1. The UI supports .bin, .rom, and other formats. In the past, there have been times when, with file extensions hidden, it turns out people were trying to add .zip files rather than the .bin + .cfg files to their system. I'll contact you via PM. We'll figure this out.
  2. Always wondered what was up w/ those. Yet another subcollection! lol
  3. I think there was a discount for orders over $200 USD
  4. Hmm... Got order confirmation on 25 October 2020, but that's it. No other updates. No tracking number on the order history.
  5. I have no idea if mine has shipped or not lol! It's been that cray-cray.
  6. Would be cool if some physical Amico releases had some sort of Evercade-compatible version of the game... E.g. a physical release that had an Evercade cart that had a "classic" version of the game and the <whatever magic thing it is> that gets you the Amico release, too. If you don't have an Evercade, oh well - you still got a "feelie" release and the Amico game. If you DO have an Evercade, then bonus! You got a two-fer! Of course, that would put the onus on someone to make a "classic mode" version of the game I suppose.
  7. Hi... I think I have a few of the Intellivision ones... if only I could remember where now...
  8. I'm certain somewhere on this forum you can find a bunch of them. But, did you know that the manual reader on your cart does a pretty darn good job already, even without that? @intvnut did a stellar job on implementing a decent word-wrapping algorithm in the manual reader on the cart, so in a pinch, even a non-bespoke text version of the manual should display reasonably well.
  9. Yeah, that's unfortunate. Before "real life" threw a spanner in the spokes, I started a project intending to seamlessly integrate support for archive file types into the UI. It's still WIP and not ready for public consumption though. Most importantly: There are upper limits on the total number of folders supported on the cartridge file system. My recommendation is to organize your ROMs in some fashion, rather than every ROM in its own folder, which IIRC is what some ROM sites will ultimately produce when you unpack everything. Probably the most common organization method I've seen is via publisher, with Mattel often broken down into the classic "Game Networks" (Action, Space, etc.).
  10. I'll chime in to say that the BSR sets are absolutely a good purchase, too! At one point, I think they even had a page with the images expressly meant to download and print for yourself - just not for selling of course! That said, those are focused on the Flashback games. If you want other games you'll have to scrounge around to find them.
  11. At the onset of the project, we actually did have specific requests to support Windows xp and macOS 10.7. Since I collect zero "phone home" type info* I have no idea if people actually use these old versions or run them in virtual machines or whatever. If I were less lazy I suppose I could root around in some website stats and try to see how often things get downloaded. I actually had to downgrade a significant chunk of code (the entire ROMs list and feature editing and jzintv integration was something I'd written on a lark a couple years before this effort even got underway)! It's almost no-win. lol a. Drop old OSs: inevitably there will be an outcry! To this I suppose i could simply day: use the last version that worked - no new features for you! b. Support the latest: this can cost lots of money and time and effort just to "stand still" There is an amount of pride in keeping the old stuff working... Hell in a meta-sense, look at what this whole endeavor is! Shiny spiffy modern tech breathing life into a 40+ year old console. Dropping support for old tech indeed! *There is a "check for updates" feature. It sends OS (win or mac or mumblymumble) and the current app version to check. None of it is persisted at the website.
  12. @intvnut : I contacted @rietveld via PM to prepare for adventures in Mono/GTK if so desired... hehe. The source is up on GitHub. Each release at the website also has a link to download the source for that particular build for convenience. I did try to document much of the dev setup for Windows and Mac, but there are always challenges. Plus, I've stuck with what are now very old toolchains. A big one is the attempt to keep supporting old operating systems. Please everyone, can we give up on Windows xp (heck, and Vista and 7 and 8 as well?)... And let's prune off macOS prior to ... say... 10.9? (lol ... this laptop is still running 10.8.5).
  13. No, nothing new. I suspect that what's needed is the information necessary to properly protect ROMs for the new run of carts that are out there. EDIT: There will be ROMs that can be "locked" to a particular cart. Those won't be playable on a different cart.
  14. I'm sure the true experts will chime in with ideas, but from what I recall, the differences are to the EXEC to block out "Mattel Electronics Presents" and then just wiring up the controllers differently. The games you mentioned I think all use IntyBASIC (maybe Space Raid does not). That's the only common thread I see... The games tend to use a common controller input polling loop IIRC, so there's that I suppose. And the controllers are stock Sears controllers? It's almost like there's a shorted pin somewhere. I've observed cases in the past where some games would boot and get to the initial play screen, and others would seem broken, and it had to do w/ bad controllers (or, <ahem> someone hooked the controllers up backward on a 2609....) It's been far too long since I've opened up a Sears unit to see if the controller ports are mounted on the case with a cable running to the mainboard, or if the ports are mounted some other way.
  15. I ordered some from here awhile back: https://www.sellmyretro.com/offer/details/brand-new-mattel-intellivision-1-controller-mylar-set-38583 Now... where did I put them... But it looks like they're still available.
  16. http://ltoflash.leftturnonly.info/ or http://www.gooddealgames.com/inventory/Intellivision.html That said, not sure of the latest up-to-the-minute availability.
  17. Same. Lots of fond memories of that game. I liked the multiple phases and the fact that you _didn't_ slaughter everything in your path in the caribou fields.
  18. Aside from the bug when moving your cards around, I actually played this game quite a lot. Not top-10 for me, but not bottom 10 either.
  19. I actually liked all the Intellivoice games, but with a heavy, heavy, heart was unable to include in top 10. Of just the four (not counting WS MLB), they'd rank (depending on whimsy) Bomb Squad (atmosphere!) B-17 Bomber (flak!) Space Spartans (jaded because had played Star Raiders so much at a friend's house) Tron Solar Sailer (unlike many, I like the game, but it's the weakest of this bunch)
  20. Strange... Do you happen to have a controller test ROM? IIRC FW Diagnostics ROM may be available, which will work awesome on Sears units, and let you see if there's anything glitchy w/ the controllers independent of the games in question.
  21. That's why it took so long for the latest batch, actually. I had promised @intvnut not to talk about it, but the real reason for the delay was that getting the quantum-entanglement-enabled shrink wrapper working was a real hit-or-miss operation.
  22. It's actually chock full of awesome ROMs encoded in Schrödinger's format. When you remove the shrink-wrap, though, they self-delete.
  23. oof…. I stopped at thirty... still need to winnow and it is incredibly difficult. darn nostalgia
