  1. Were you just watching G4Tech TV? Because this was JUST on, like, 15-20 minutes ago. One example they did is GTA: VC the main load, from cd it was 1 min. and the HD loader it was 25 seconds. I say its worth it. Plus, if you rent a lot of games.... :ponder:

  2. I didnt read any other posts, because we dont want a flame war here :D

I'd say PS2 all the way. The ability to play PS1 games, and DVDs without any extra software makes it a lot better right out of the box. There are a TON more games, and to be honest, there are about 5 XBX games that look intresting to me. I have a little more then 35 games, and all of them are very fun and I still play from time to time, plus there are more that I want. Take what you will.

  3. I think that at the end of the week (from now on, I guess...) that you post, say who the winner is in that topic, and start up a new one. I won last week, and you didn't say it anywhere, and I demand my recognition! :D Also, I think you should have a list of who the people that get to pick the game are, because then we can think about it, and just so there is some organization to it all. I might not play this week, because people get some insane scores on this game.

  4. I have/played/beat it on pc, and had no problems. I didnt buy it, but if I had, I would have gone for a console version (PS2, I dont have anything else) because I think the game would just controll and feel better with something in my hands, not just the keyboard.

  5. With someone as an extensive a collection as that, I'm surprized you dont have something... practical to hold all your carts.

Me, I cant take a good picture, and plus its just a bunch of carts / systems / controllers in a few storage bins with some other random gaming goods thrown in.

  6. Find that display at your local Pilot station? :D

For those of you who dont know, the Pilot gas/truck stations all have CD's DVD's and now they have PS1 and 2 games, 10 and 15 respectivly. I got the Activision Anthology I have been meaning to get there. Pretty much all those games you listed they have, or you can find for cheap elsewhere.

  7. If so few games came out each year, nobody would game anymore. Plain and simple. I hate sports games, and they tend to be popluar. I like FPS, others dont. I hate tactical squad type games, others dont. There wouldnt be enough to make buying a system worth it.

Besides, there would be more then 5 sports games alone. Then you have FPS, adventure, puzzle ect.

  8. Classified ads. If I had the room, I would have like, 3 arcade machines right now. I think I gave a link to someone here on AA that I found in the classifieds, and they ended up buying it. I think there are a few in my local paper right now, actually.

  9. While you are on my block list, this topic is important.

I was a fan of the original JJ back in the day (I'd say '95 ish). I only had the demo, but that was more then enough for me. I remember waiting and waiting for the second one to come out, and I even remember the day I bought it at the Best Buy that has sense, changed location. Also, I had it on PC, I didn't even know it was out for the mac.

One of the best platformers ever, great baddies, weapons, and just the overall design of the thing was great. Also, I don't think it ever made it to the consoles. Although, there is one... marginal game that came out for GBA, but its nothing like the other two.

  10. I have been thinking about this for awhile myself (more then a year) and I have thought of a lot of aspects. First off, I dont think that photorealism would be good. Would it be cool? Yes. But not something I want to see when I'm shooting baddies with a plasma rifle. See what I mean? You really CANT have it in some ways. Who is the person to decide how something would look in real life even though its completely fake?

Now, in the future I think there are going to be two or more different aspects of gaming. The first one being how it is now, with a controller, something that gives you unput in a game by the touch of a button. Uses media that you can go buy at the store, and need things like a HD (or memory card, whatever) to use and all that.

Then the intresting thing comes in, VR. Something that you either put on your head, cliche like, or something you get into. When you move, your charater moves. Whatever you do, people see you do. This is all on the internet, and you have keyboard just for accessing things like servers, and putting in your credit card for games ect. Now, this would really limit the gaming genre, and its also why I hope they go in two completely different directions. Some fat guy who loves fighting games is going to HATE that. You need to be in great shape, plus it gets rid of the possiblity for fireballs and that sort of thing. Fit guys will love the thing. It will end up being at gyms and the such.

VR would be cool, but it wouldnt last long for these and many other reasons. Plus, I didnt even get into handhelds, but I suppose thats for a different topic and another day.
