  1. Hi All,

Looks like the memory card wasn't the only one fried. I have a dead P-GRAM+ board on my hands and this one is way beyond my capabilities to repair. Is there anyone who might be able to fix it - or shall I start shopping for a frame and mounting materials?!? :(

System will not start with the card enabled - turning on the switch prior to loading the DSR corrupts the display and the LED flashes intermittently - makes me wonder if the card is getting enough power. Other cards - MYARC DDSS-1, Firehose, 32K mem and RS-232 w HDX seem OK. However, sometimes I needs to power the console on, off, and back on again to get the PEB going.

Frankly - the FlashROM is way better in many ways - but it was nice to have the clock...

    Cheers, Arthur...

  2. Hi All,

Brought a whole bunch of parts back to my place in Manila - and it seems like my first guess was right. Bad 32K memory card. All is running now - and I am happy. However, I am confused about a few things...

The Corcomp Diagnostics 32K card test reported the original card bad.

The Tursi 32K test passed it... (thinks the old card is good)

With the old card all apps requiring the card lock / never start and work fine with the tested good card I brought.

So what's up with that?!? What would cause a card to fail? (I am guessing crappy 110v converters here... who knows... I should pull out my multi-meter to make sure I'm not feeding the PEB 150 VAC... LOL)

Secondly - anyone out there know how to repair a 32K card? Seems a shame to chuck it away. Or perhaps a guide - and I can give it a shot myself???

    Cheers, Arthur...

  3. Can't wait for the FinalGROM... :) The FR99 has completely changed the way I use the TI... Gone are the days when I burned lots of ROM's and suffered in hex editors trying to make cart dumps load on my P-GRAM+... ;)

In terms of this wifi enabled memory card... I may break out the soldering iron and see if I can create a completely self contained cart. If the wifi card is essentially a SMB style server - then it could participate in my network like any other windows share. That beats the heck out of removing and inserting memory cards.

    Which card are you using?

  4. Has anyone been able to run it successfully / completely off a hard disk or HDX1? For a while I was trying to put together an optimal FW setup but the number of moving parts and the time I had to spend editing device names and such became too much of a hassle.

  5. Well - one that works on the TI is also of strong interest... :)

So, I guess this means you want a PC hex editor. I use HxD, which is freeware available here. I used it constantly for quite awhile for patching together my fbForth 2.0 cartridge binaries until I figured out a way to cut back on the number of labels I was using—Asm994a chokes on more than 2850 or so. HxD is very useful for a free hex editor.

  6. Yep - originally I made an offer that was accepted by the seller. They tested the card on two systems (neither with PCODE card) and it worked perfectly. If I wind up with another one - and it's still showing interrupt style conflicts then I suppose I can swap out the PCODE card. I'd rather have another PGRAM+ ;) However, new developments like the FlashROM and FinalROM sort of make that card obsolete.

Nice price! I think I paid close to double that for mine. Great find for someone who needs this card.

  7. Oddly enough - I may have found a solution. When I pull the P-CODE Ver 4.0 card and run SETCLOCK it works perfectly. However, REMIND will still not display the time (although BOOT does).

It looks like the card has an updated ROM of some kind.

    Still - very annoying!

I pulled the P-CODE card, and will fool around with it for a bit. But I might just eBay (the clock) it in "who the hell knows" condition and let someone else try their luck.

  8. I think the card is shot actually... BOOT reads the time, but nothing will set it... not even the simple basic programs. PRINT #1:D$ (where D$ is formatted according to the docs) always returns an Error 34. I can read from the clock but not write to it.

I changed the battery... same results.

SETCLOCK fails - the date numbers flash as if participating in a run away interrupt condition - and when you set the clock, instead of sitting at the menu the machine immediately resets. The time is not set. It is absolutely not working the way it should in your video. Many thanks - BTW! :)

Looks like the typical "untested" eBay scenario - crap! :(

Is it possible you have a corrupted copy of the program?

If you have a FlashROM 99 you can download a working copy of the program << HERE >>

Below is a really short video of how it's supposed to work.

  9. Hey Gents,

Managed to purchase the CC-TT card on eBay - and finally have a clock that Boot likes. Wondering if there is a clock utility that comes / came with the card - or perhaps a 3rd party utility that works. I have tried a few (Clock Master and Setclock) which have not worked...

Also - this is the first PEB card I have seen without an LED... anyone solder one in? (there is a place) Did it do anything?!?

    Cheers, Arthur...

  10. Hi Gents,

Apologies if this has been asked before. I have all the parts for the XB27 Suite cart and am looking at four files. I have the Atmega 1284p and the AT49F040 chips and am fairly good with the Minipro if docs are handy... :)

    XB27 Suite 128k Flash 060315.bin

    XB27 Suite 512k Rom 060315.bin

    XB27 Suite 060315.mpj

    XB27 Suite EEprom 060315.bin

Some quick questions... what is the .mpj file? Is this the latest and greatest? Anyone have a 80 track update diskette (if I need it)

Just not sure what files to load into which chip? Is there a step by step somewhere???

Down to my last 1284p and I don't want to mess it up... :) Apologies for the basic questions - I did scour the forum in advance - lots of bread crumbs but no trail!

    Cheers, Arthur...

  11. Wondering if someone can comment on how to load boot into the cart? I am about to make a EB 2.7s cart tonight... as I need one for my second system. Would LOVE to have the 80 col boot happening on it. Possible? I have tried to save boot into the 2.7 cart I have, but it always locks up at the Save to DSK1. prompt after answering yes to the SAVE to 2.7 GROM prompt.

  12. Which card are you using?

Those work exactly in that way: As long as they have power (and the company has provided software for the platform you want to send files from), you can send files/photos/whatever.

I have a similar one installed on my Atari Ultimate cart as well as my personal FR99 cart. Makes it very easy to send files from inside the house (main desktop) to the cave (TI/A8).

  13. In the Crazy Crazy department... I wonder if there would be a way to make the images on the SD card look like photos to this thing...

    or this...

    or this...

If so, you could serve images up to the FinalGROM on your TI99 wirelessly from your phone, notebook or the cloud... WIFI pass through could potentially support an IP stack.
