Hi All, Figured I'd try and hack BA-WRITER to run from HDX1.BAW and have been searching for a decent file hex editor. Any simple favorites you can recommend? Cheers, Arthur...

CorComp Triple Tech software recommend and LED mod
aftyde replied to aftyde's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Yep - originally I made an offer that was accepted by the seller. They tested the card on two systems (neither with PCODE card) and it worked perfectly. If I wind up with another one - and it's still showing interrupt style conflicts then I suppose I can swap out the PCODE card. I'd rather have another PGRAM+ However, new developments like the FlashROM and FinalROM sort of make that card obsolete. -
Unloading a TripleTech that seems to not want to co-exist in my PEB with a PCODE card... Is that weird, yes it is... However, the card seems to work OK otherwise. Either way - screw it. Listing the thing (for less than I paid) and hoping to find another clock. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CORCOMP-Texas-Instruments-TRIPLE-TECH-CARD-w-SPEECH-TI-99-4A-TI99-/201850399529

CorComp Triple Tech software recommend and LED mod

I re-seated the chips and it seems OK now - but it still flakes out with the P-CODE card in the PEB. Near as I can tell - the clock card is fine. However, I'll spin the wheel on another clock card vs. replacing the P-CODE card. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CORCOMP-Texas-Instruments-TRIPLE-TECH-CARD-w-SPEECH-TI-99-4A-TI99-/201850399529 -
CorComp Triple Tech software recommend and LED mod

Oddly enough - I may have found a solution. When I pull the P-CODE Ver 4.0 card and run SETCLOCK it works perfectly. However, REMIND will still not display the time (although BOOT does). It looks like the card has an updated ROM of some kind. Still - very annoying! I pulled the P-CODE card, and will fool around with it for a bit. But I might just eBay (the clock) it in "who the hell knows" condition and let someone else try their luck. -

I think the card is shot actually... BOOT reads the time, but nothing will set it... not even the simple basic programs. PRINT #1:D$ (where D$ is formatted according to the docs) always returns an Error 34. I can read from the clock but not write to it. I changed the battery... same results. SETCLOCK fails - the date numbers flash as if participating in a run away interrupt condition - and when you set the clock, instead of sitting at the menu the machine immediately resets. The time is not set. It is absolutely not working the way it should in your video. Many thanks - BTW! Looks like the typical "untested" eBay scenario - crap! -
Just a side note - I have been buying the parts (arcadeshopper for the boards), eBay for the chips - I figure the tribal knowledge on how to make carts should be widespread even though I still consider myself a total n00b...

Definitely appreciate the pics - will take another look at WHT! Seems like a lot of work... too bad I can't just solder one in... Cheers, Arthur -
Hey Gents, Managed to purchase the CC-TT card on eBay - and finally have a clock that Boot likes. Wondering if there is a clock utility that comes / came with the card - or perhaps a 3rd party utility that works. I have tried a few (Clock Master and Setclock) which have not worked... Also - this is the first PEB card I have seen without an LED... anyone solder one in? (there is a place) Did it do anything?!? Cheers, Arthur...

Hi Gents, Apologies if this has been asked before. I have all the parts for the XB27 Suite cart and am looking at four files. I have the Atmega 1284p and the AT49F040 chips and am fairly good with the Minipro if docs are handy... XB27 Suite 128k Flash 060315.bin XB27 Suite 512k Rom 060315.bin XB27 Suite 060315.mpj XB27 Suite EEprom 060315.bin Some quick questions... what is the .mpj file? Is this the latest and greatest? Anyone have a 80 track update diskette (if I need it) Just not sure what files to load into which chip? Is there a step by step somewhere??? Down to my last 1284p and I don't want to mess it up... Apologies for the basic questions - I did scour the forum in advance - lots of bread crumbs but no trail! Cheers, Arthur...

Wondering if someone can comment on how to load boot into the cart? I am about to make a EB 2.7s cart tonight... as I need one for my second system. Would LOVE to have the 80 col boot happening on it. Possible? I have tried to save boot into the 2.7 cart I have, but it always locks up at the Save to DSK1. prompt after answering yes to the SAVE to 2.7 GROM prompt.

Which card are you using?

In the Crazy Crazy department... I wonder if there would be a way to make the images on the SD card look like photos to this thing... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Eyefi-Mobi-32GB-Class-10-Wi-Fi-SDHC-Card-with-90-day-Eyefi-Cloud-Service/222418897726 or this... https://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-FlashAir-Wireless-Memory-PFW032U-1CCW/dp/B00UOYPZP2 or this... https://www.amazon.com/Transcend-Wi-Fi-Class-Memory-TS32GWSDHC10/dp/B00A659ILQ/ If so, you could serve images up to the FinalGROM on your TI99 wirelessly from your phone, notebook or the cloud... WIFI pass through could potentially support an IP stack.

Would it be possible for the FinalGROM to function like a MiniMemory cart? By the way - sign me up for at least 2!

Weird problem - need advice! Green screen of death!
aftyde replied to aftyde's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Well, nothing left to pull - the DDCC card could be toast I suppose... or the memory, or the firehose, or the console... or maybe the PEB itself. Removing the WHT, Horizon, pgram+ and audio card seemed to make no difference. Guess I'll bolt it all back together and bring a console with me when I am back here in Nov... crap! -

Weird problem - need advice! Green screen of death!

Sadly - I have neither with me. Tried to load a program called DIAGNOSTIC and it went straight to green. Is there a way to return the available memory in Extended Basic? -
Hi All, While waiting for me here in Manila my TI99/4A and PEB seems to be on the blink. When I run anything that appears to want 32K access - the screen goes solid green and all the lights on the PEB go out. So for example, if I have a disk in DSK1, use EA5 to run DSK1.DIAGNOSTIC it starts loading - screen goes solid green and all the lights go out. Power cycling the TI brings it back - then, for example - I might try WDS1.DM2K.DM2K and same thing - loads from hard disk, but then green screen. I can run BOOT (in both 40 and 80) - and catalog disks, however - WDS1 will lock the system up. Guessing 32K card but looking for ideas. I have pulled out the cards that seemed suspicious - so no more pGram+ or Horizon RAM card - just MYARC DDCC1, SCSI, 32K and Firehose. Ideas?!? Cheers, Arthur...

I bought this from what's left of Radio Shack - and it works great. There is also an excellent Shift838 article that discussed how to wire a power plug into a Speech Synth. I keep my NanoPEB off the side of my Speech Unit - makes it easier to add and remove from the console. Here is the link to the Radio Shack power supply. I don't have a direct link for Shift838 but I believe it's about six months back - an enjoyable hunt nevertheless... https://www.radioshack.com/collections/ac-to-dc-power-adapters/products/3-12-volt-2500ma-high-power-ac-adapter

Hey All, Wondering if anyone has contact with Jaime? I recently disassembled a Speech Synth to add a power socket for my NanoPEB. It occurred to me that the latest NanoPEB has a ton of empty board space - and the only reason it needs to be as big as it is would be the CF card. Using an SD card in place of the CF card one could easily create a new board layout that could fit right into the Speech Synth's "upper deck" so to speak. Also - anyone try to stuff a NanoPEB into a PEB via. a Rave99? Would that work??? (don't ask why, just roll with it...) LOL Cheers, Arthur...

I disagree - there is no charm in old floppys going stale - and losing bits of your personal history (literally). Even with Lotharek SD cards emulating floppy disks and the F18A - this old TI has far more personality than my Core i7 monsters will ever have. I actually care about my TI systems and have an emotional connection that goes back to my early teen years. PC's come and go - but I've had my TI in production (running TI-Base) for over 30 years. Adding some new capabilities will just enhance my desire to do more with the TI. That said, my most extreme admiration goes to you and your engineering skills. If you ever decide to put some of your designs into production you have a sold customer waiting right here to send you money!

Cards and other expansions I made for TI-99
aftyde replied to fabrice montupet's topic in TI-99/4A Development
The Apple Pie is an interesting card in the Apple world that interfaces between an Apple ][ and a Raspberry PI. The pie then emulates disks, serial, network, video - the works... it's basically a slave to the Apple ][ (and capable of being it's own machine as well). A PEB or sidecar that could interface with a PI would then benefit from all the hardware advances in the embedded Linux space. One such card in a PEB could replace every other card. -
You are a bad person! hahahahahahahaha!

🖥 FlashROM 99 & FinalGROM 99 - Repository

Any chance of stuffing a Plato cart into a FlashROM 99? (meaning, is it possible and is there someone who has one and can FR it? ) Cheers, Arthur...
