  1. Okay cool, so they're the original unsold cartridges that Atari was holding onto and Best just sold them. That's fine, I think. Do these sound like suitable prices? I'm just checking. Frog Pond = $190 Dukes Of Hazzard = $190 Jr. Pac-Man = $90 Malagai = $90 Gauntlet = $190
  2. So are these the legitimate cartridges I thought they were? I know people say I have the Best Electronics version of Dukes Of Hazzard but what does that mean? Are they making new games with the ROM? Are they using old chips and new cartridges? Is it all old? What about Frog Pond? Is that a real 197X prototype?
  3. I think I'll do that. Do I need some sort of gripper tool to pull the chip off the PCB? Or one of those solder suckers for the bottom? Is there a new PCB I can buy that it will just push into more easily?
  4. I just played Frog Pond and Dukes Of Hazzard, they play like they should. I don't have a Atari 800 to play Jr. Pac-Man and I'm not sure how to test Malagai / Gauntlet. Can I put them into donor boards?
  5. How dark does it need to be for me to pull the stickers off the chips and look?
  6. I received these today and everything seems fine but I just wanted to post and ask people more knowledgeable than I. Do these look legitimate? I want to make sure I made a good buy here and they're not fake or anything. Bottom left = Frog Pond unreleased prototype Bottom right = Dukes Of Hazzard unreleased semi-prototype Top right = Jr. Pac-Man prototype Top left = Malagai / Gauntlet chips from Answer Software Apparently they were bought from Digipress long ago and now I bought them from that person (may actually be a member here). I spoke with buyatari and he was telling me the Dukes Of Hazzard is actually from Best Electronics but what does that mean? Did they make fakes or is this one of the originally produced ROM chips from the original run? Thanks a lot.
  7. Wow, I don't use the word rare very often but you have some rare games here. Especially Malagai.
  8. I heard somewhere that was Mike Kennedy of Coleco Chameleon fame that was associated with Game Gavel and that's why it's no longer around. I could be corrected, I'm just repeating what my unverified source told me.
  9. Price cut? Why? I would have no problem giving you thousands for the right item here but if you post it on eBay I'll pass. I'd rather not have it than ever have to use eBay ever again. I don't see why you think it would sell for less here.
  10. I looked at the glue side of Vulture Attack and it's an even glue pattern, there isn't anything telling me where it came off. I expected to see parts of the Condor Attack label there but no, it's totally an even pattern of dried glue. I have multiple Ataris, I play regularly. I can test anything if I know what I'm looking for. I'm really curious what I have here because I'm a variant collector so I want to know which other variants I need to get and which I already have.
  11. Interesting.I got this cartridge packaged like this and I also got a Condor Attack from the seller at the same time. Is it possible this second label came off the Condor Attack and not actually the Space Monster? How would I find that out? If I play both, will it determine which games I have here? Do I have Space Monkey and Vulture Attack or do I have Condor Attack and Vulture Attack?
  12. I bought a creased manual for Texas Chainsaw Massacre yesterday and I paid $50 for it. Nice find.
  13. I'm more curious if this is how all Vulture Attacks came. Is there a NTSC version? Are they all relabelled from Space Monster? Did K-Tel release games that weren't rebranded from Funvision?
  14. Thanks but how do you know? I'm really lost here so I'm wondering: Is it Space Monster? Is it Vulture Attack? Is it K-Tel or is it Funvision? Is it PAL or NTSC? Why are there 2 separate game labels? Were each of these their own game at some point? Is it just old stock or old labels? I also have a Condor Attack (Ultravision) and a Spider Maze (K-Tel), how do I find out if those are something other than what's on the label?
  15. What did I buy here? Online sources show me these as being 2 separate games but the shop owner wasn't sure if it was a relabelled PAL version. What exactly did I buy and why is there a second label? Do I need to actually play the game to figure out which one it is?
  16. Are you saying I have this connected incorrectly and they are separate devices? Why would you hook up a printer to a gaming console?
  17. Someone just gave me all of these. It appears they allow using an Atari 2600 controllers on the ZX Spectrum but I'm wondering what the IDE interface is supposed to plug into. Does anyone know?
  18. Is it a problem with the plastic of the generic case? Does he know he can get another case from another game for $1?
  19. Thanks! I didn't know about the Atarimania site, it's very helpful. It doesn't give me values nor rarities but the information is very cool. Here is the Bobby Is Going Home cartridge, it doesn't look like the other German cartridges, any idea where it's from?
  20. Hi, I picked up all of these at a local game store yesterday and I'm looking for some more information on some of them. Some of them I know but most I couldn't even find evidence of online anywhere. Please let me know if you know anything about where they came from and what they're worth. I'm not selling any of them, I'm just curious. H.E.S. Smash Hit Pak - seems to be a collection of Activision games and is just one of the collection packs they sold. Was this licensed by Activision? Glib - I know this one, it cost a lot. Fire Fly - Looks like a Sears Tele-Games release. Sorcerer - Also looks like Sears Tele-Games. Kung-Fu Master - this one doesn't look like the typical Activision label, is this the usual label for this cartridge? Coconuts - this one I already found online easily. Cosmic Creeps - also easy to find online. Crystal Castles - I just bought this to complete my empty box. Name That Game - I bought this strictly for the interesting name. Why did they name it this? Ocean City Defender - Looks like a Zellers Canadian exclusive. I might even have the box already, I need to check when I get home. Super Action Pak - another Activision collection cartridge. Modern Knight - now we're getting into the ones I could not find anywhere. What is this? Bumper Bash - I already know about this one. Home Video Game - ?????? Dice Puzzle - I was able to find this one online. Tecmagic - ?????? Space Eagle - ??????? Imagic Centipede - weird label for this game. Snail Against Squirrel - the owner told me only one of these 2 copies work and wasn't sure which one so I got both. I can see when I look into the bottom of both cartridges, one of them has little transistor things soldered to the pins while the other one does not have anything extra. Was that usually done to repair these or reflash them? Futebol - ?????????? Sky Skipper - I couldn't find any evidence of sold boxed copies online. The only thing I know about this game is the history of Nintendo having the only surviving cabinet of the original arcade game in their storage warehouse. I didn't know it was also on Atari. Bobby Is Going Home - I found a few copies sold online but they were full size cartridges with the game name printed in German. I opened this one up (I can take a photo if needed) and it's just a half size cartridge, it's really short with a full colour label. Sea Hawk - I found this one online. Karate - I knew there was a super rare version of this but apparently I have the common Froggo version. Super Ferrari - PAL? Motocross - PAL? Racquetball - ????????
  21. Sorry guys, it wasn't my intention to offend anyone. I have autism spectrum disorder so I wasn't aware of how my request would be perceived. Thanks for explaining it.
  22. Wow, this didn't go as planned at all. I have a few items outside my target collections and I just wish someone from those markets would knock on my door. I have taken all of your notes except the one incredibly rude comment and have decided to abandon my search here based on your advice. I did post this in the Buy, Sell, Trade forum, how is that the wrong area? I'm buying something.
  23. A lot of people aren't buying anything so I think I'm offering something here others aren't. It may be hard to unload some of this stuff right now but I'd be willing to buy if it's discounted.
  24. Oh, I also collect NES but I figured I would mostly find Atari here.
  25. Is anyone thinking of letting go of some of the rarer stuff to pay bills? I'm looking for things at a discount to help other people out and also help my collection, things like Tooth Protectors, Atlantis II or Pepsi Invaders, preferably complete. I don't resell anything if that helps you decide, everything stays in my collection. Offer me anything that's hard to find.
