el destructo, calm down, i'm not gonna step on any toes here. my idea (and it is JUST that at the moment) would be to absolutely do this as non-profit. this is just in "bouncing around my brain" phase but what i would like to do is contact the people who run cge. i know that at 1,000 pieces, the cost will be just about two bucks for the dvd. so, i need to contact the cge folk and see if they are even open to this idea but maybe charge an extra 3-5 bucks per ticket at next years show with all PROFIT of the disc being donated to charity. this isn't a money making thing, just something i'd like to do for the community. and yes, i do realize that i would need to get permission from infogames, blue sky (intellivision), activison and any other companies that we would need to include on the disc... i'm just simply throwing out an idea and if we can make a 1k-4k donation to a charity, all the better... d8thstar

As an aside to this... Having been in the CD/DVD replication business, I've been toying with compiling either a video CD or DVD and having them produced (yes, I still have contacts ). So, would there be interest here? Maybe have these things at next years CGE (which I WILL go to!)? Hell, the cost of getting these done is relatively cheap, perhaps have it as a giveaway even...

ok, thats two "i'd buy"'s maybe someone could address this as my sales friend who i duscussed this with and would put the deal together for me had one concern: copyright. are these commercials considered public domain? but, lets get the ball rolling. i can start a spreadsheet. just start emailing me where to look for highest quality classic commercials on the web and i can begin compiling. i have a friend who will do the cd/dvd mastering and if we decide to go the dvd route, can even do menus with chapter stops... as for costs, barring any licensing issues, it's gonna be cheap (sub 1.00 for the raw dvd, bump it to sub 2.00 with front/backliners). maybe we can offer this as a 'freebie' for next years cge paid admission! thoughts?

hi guys, i am cataloging all my stuff, testing and what not and i seem to have a PAL pitfall II cart. i searched atariage and it makes no mention of a pal version. on top of that, the other two copies i have match the label scan on this site perfectly (part number too) and this cart on the end label doesn't have "lost caverns" along the bottom and the part number says "E AB-035-04". does the "E" signify "europe"? if this is PAL, have i found something else kinda cool? thanks for readung!

Thanks for the advice of waiting until October time frame. With how I plan on doing it (constructing a website to link from the eBay listing), it'll probably take that long since I've never done a site before! Any other ideas? Kinda curious to have some people look at my list and let me know what they think I may get for this stuff (Europe is CALLING me).

the only thing i found was an atari floor lounge chair. let me try and describe it. it looks like an inverted "T". you sit on the padding (that sits on the floor), the back which has the atari logo on it leans back at a cool 70-75 degree angle and then the back part on the floor is for stability... now if this thing only had a drink holder for my beer, i'd never stop playing games....

hi all, i'm getting out of collecting (for the most part, financing a europian trip actually) and am cataloging all my 2600 stuff to sell off. i know that the proto of thwocker i found recently should fetch a nice amount but was curious as to my best approach to sell everything else off. i have the spreadsheet broken out by title, cart, instr, rarity rating (from this most EXCELLENT site btw) and for everything with a rarity of 5 or higher i have a "closed auction" price for what it has fetched on ebay in the past. currently, the cart list is at 190 unique carts (91 of which have instructions, 5 of which are proto's), 63 doubles (8 doubles instructions) with 41 of those doubles being unique to that doubles subset. so my thinking (and here is where i would really appreciate some feedback) is to sell off the 5 or higher rarity carts (18 carts total) leaving an atari 6-switcher package with 172 unique titles, 63 doubles and a buttload of controllers/extras (catalogues and such). any feedback is appreciated.

hi all, thanks to everyone for the kind words so far! i am at work at the moment but i would like to submit a short QT movie of the gameplay tonight so that everyone can see! i only played for about a minute or two last night and didn't really get a feel for the game, more to come tonight (promise!). i'm still realing from this find and don't quite know what to do at this point! i will be selling this cart off and would love to release a dump to the community but i also dont want to degrade the value by doing so. i really dont want to sound greedy with that comment but i am financing a trip to europe and if the potential buyer doesn't want a dump released, i will abide by their wishes (i certainly hope that will not be the case, i would love to be remembered as the guy who released this to the community!). so, ANY feedback is most certainly appreciated as to what i should do next! once agin, thanks all for the feedback so far...

the only reason why i say its thwocker is because of the handwritten label ""C 1983 Activision Inc. Thwocker TM Confidential 1/19/84 PR #001" The label is intact (no screw holes) so i would assume that the chip inside is what was put in it originally.... i am headed to work. tonight, i will take a small movie of it with the digital camera and would be happy to submit to you tempest and to this site. unfortunately, there is NO title screen. again, i am going by what the label says.... if this is truly thwocker, any ideas what this might be worth? please email me at work, [email protected]

hi all, i can understand the hesitation. i have just emailed a screen shot and albeight blurry label pic (i am recharging the digital camera today at work, batteries were weak last night) to tempest.... suffice it to say, the "unknown game #2" under activision listing with the comment "could this be thwocker?". well, it isn't.... if anyone would like to IM me, my screen name is also "d8thstar". i'll be on all day while at work....
