  1. Here's something to look into: http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/industry-news/manufacturing/article/53482-ingram-makes-color-print-on-demand-more-economical.html
  2. Video Game Update was a newsletter put out by a store called Video Take-OUT, which was based in North Hollywood, CA. It started as a quarterly newsletter and then expanded into a monthly fanzine-type magazine that usually contained perhaps 12 pages. On the last page of each issue was the release dates of all upcoming games. As you mentioned, it was the only videogame periodical during the mid-eighties.
  3. I got them off of ebay. $24.00 for the set and I think $3 for postage.
  4. Who is DailyDeal USA? They have six "used" copies available on Amazon for $65.00 each.
  5. I had tried to convert Phoenix to the Kindle and had no luck. All of my photos came out as mirror-image of the originals, and the formatting was attrocious. My publisher plans to put Phoenix 4 into an electronic format but I was told that the large number of photos may not make it possible.
  6. I just ordered. I used the $35.96 I had in Amazon Reward points and upgraded to a free trial membership to Amazon Prime. So I'll be getting the book on Wednesday, free shipping, and it will only cost me $4.03!
  7. The Atari Game club itself was revamped during the time between the two newsletters and the magazine. Only two issues of the newsletter were ever sent out. I may have a letter from them somewhere about the relaunch.
  8. And if Obama lost, the same book would have come out with the names changed
  9. I'm still waiting for my copy of Star Castle which was promised in June and cost 4 times what this book cost. But that's another topic.
  10. You do. Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat are two separate applications.
  11. Phoenix and Videogames: In The Beginning have been available through amazon for years.
  12. Dan, where are you in the 'Credits' list of the manual? I believe that's the order of how he is sending them out.
  13. It's about time someone did a history of arcade games. Good luck! I can't wait to read it!
  14. Any update on how the shipping is coming along?
  15. I would say that since it was advertised, it should go under the third-party category. Have there been any homebrews in the last 15 years that have been advertised?
  16. Really? We could do the opposite. I'm in the United States but I've placed orders from Amazon.co.uk many times without a problem.
  17. Bowker sends out the ISBN, List Price, and publisher's contact info every month in their Books In Print listings, which B&N and other stores could just input into their system automatically. Since B&N requires in most case a 60% discount off of the list price, it is they can easily offer a 33% discount. if anyone at B&N is even aware of this, they will see Syzygy Press and have no idea it is from CreateSpace, who will not give them a 60% discount.
  18. They're probably listing the book because you registered the ISBN. Once they have an ISBN and publisher's price they can do what they want with it. If anybody actually orders from them they'll eventually say they cannot get the book and cancel the order.
  19. I just received an email that the carts are finally being shipped. He said to be patient though since there are over 500 orders and he could only do a few a day.
