    Sorry to resurrect an ancient thread but I'm trying to put together a two player SNES to 3DO adapter based on candle's design and for some reason he's unable to receive PMs.


    Candle - did you get two player functionality to work? Do you have any other images/documents/information about your progress with the project? Perhaps a parts list?

    Yes, it was a VAM1202.

     

    FYI when cleaning the contacts in the CD unit I noticed that it is actually a two sided card that can be removed from the JagCD unit. So, be sure to remove this PCB "joiner" card and clean both sides!

    Hey guys, I've searched for a solution to this but haven't been able to find anything. I bought a Jag CD unit off eBay and when I received it, it was very temperamental - it would almost never read discs. I googled a bit and decided to buy a new laser/transport. It arrived today and I installed it but much to my dismay, it exhibits the same problem.

     

    1.) With audio cds it will recognize them as audio and go to the player. It shows the correct number of tracks, but I cannot play any track. When I try to hit play it says 0:01 and never advances.

    2.) With game cds (I am using originals) it will spin the disc and then the laser will move to the back of the unit and the disc will start to spin more slowly. Then it does nothing, no cd icon with questionmark, just nothing.

     

    Very frustrating! Does anyone have an idea?
