Thanks I figured the plugs for the wires could also be done from scratch. With the latest craze in 3D printing and whatnot...

I replaced an RF cable from one of my Ataris and it did the trick. The cable could look absolutely fine, but still be defective. I would try using an RCA cable with a 90 degree bend... or maybe a 90 degree adapter would work.

Also if your interested in an arcade stick instead of a gamepad, making your own using an arcade stick and cherry switch buttons is easy as pie if you use the proline's harness. You don't even need to solder anything, but use crimp connectors.

Anytime a product goes from being made in America by American workers to made overseas by workers who may as well get paid with peanuts... it's an obvious sign of corporate greed. Nothing wrong with trying to maximize profits, but when the quality of the product suffers... then it's just greed. Same thing happened with bicycles. In the early 80's or maybe even earlier, American bike companies closed their factories and moved all production to Taiwan because it was cheaper than paying skilled American welders, platers, painters, etc. to make bicycles. Quality went down, prices stayed the same, profit margins went up. Huge difference between the Heavy Sixer and the Atari 2600 Jr. ... not just in appearance.

Atari's Landfill Adventures, I now have the proof it's true.

Yeah, that was a waste. -
If it was the only game missing from my 7800 collection, I would pay $40 for it... just to finally complete the collection.

The media is not interested in facts. This whole thing is just some kind of publicity stunt. What's sad is people are going to take their MIB games, bury them in the dirt for a week, then try and pass them off as games from the landfill on ebay. -
Complex? ... your right about that. Instead of a controller hack, I would totally contribute to a kickstart of a completely new controller that had the keypad, Pause, Start, Reset, 2 analog thumb sticks, top and front fire buttons, and one wire with two plugs, one for port 1 and one for port 2. It should also have a retro styling that goes with the 5200, black with red buttons and aluminum Atari name plate. Here's an idea...

Fix-it Felix Jr. is a real, playable game *NOT FLASH*

Didn't Ralph in the movie actually say that "Retro" meant old but cool? Nah, but I agree that retro refers to the appearance of something or someone being from another era, "oldschool" A replica is a copy of something that actually exists or existed in physical form. -
I just bought a Sears Video Arcade II and thought the stock combo sticks would be nice. Turns out they are probably the worst sticks I've ever used. I started looking for an alternative and discovered another combo stick, the Gemstick. I bought one off ebay and just got it today. After cleaning it up a bit, I put it back together... played a few games with it and am now thoroughly impressed with it. I think it is one of the best sticks ever made. A plus is the gemstick goes perfect with the SVAII. All I need now is a custom SVAII decal to put where the Gemini decal was and it will look as though it was made for it.

I still think someone should invent a controller using 2 dual axis analog thumb sticks like the ones on Playstation controllers. How awesome would it be to play Robotron and Space Dungeon with something like that?

Did they find any copies of Dig Dug? -

Yeah, I'm having a bit of a hard time believing those games were buried, unless they were still sealed in the boxes and they removed them. -
Just played it on JUM52. Looks and plays great. Music is badass!

Many people think the 7800 wasn't as good as the NES. It was just as good as far as potential goes. If they had 3rd party support, more refined gamepads, manufactured it with POKEY, and had A/V outs... it would have been equal to the NES IMO.

Agreed on the cost cutting. Also, the style of the console evolved over the years to keep up with the latest trends. Wood grain & levers was very late seventies while aluminum trim & LEDs was more sleek and futuristic for the new decade.

New AtGames Joysticks and Paddles are back in stock

Anyone know what the inside of a Flashback 2 Joystick looks like? Is it just like the original with dome switches, or is it better like the Syzygy USB Classic 2? -
Just got a Heavy Sixer and 2 CX-10s with it. I had to open them up and clean the connections on the board and some routine cleaning... No big deal, they clearly weren't used for years. I even went underneath the button domes, well they aren't really domes but... and tried to scrape them a little with a small knife... just to get a little oxidation off for a better contact. After getting them to work, I played a few games with them. I kinda like them. The springy joystick takes some getting used to but... not bad. The fire button is very springy too but I'm ok with that. All in all, I prefer the CX-10s over the CX-40s. My favorite version of this joystick is Syzygy Company's USB Classic 2. If Curt made the same joystick wired for the 2600, It would be my definitive stick.

Didn't Disney make a few from old Donkey Kong cabinets? I would assume those have actual roms that could be dumped. EDIT: Woops, never mind. Just found out the arcade cabinets have Dell computers with J-PACs in them... so yeah, this game is just some PC game.

That video is perfect... exactly what I did with mine. And he's right, if they break... they break. Go buy another set off ebay. These things are plentiful.

How are the AtGames joysticks, anyone buy these too?

Cool, Thanks.
