Look, all games are going to have some imperfections, but when there are bugs that hinder game play, and when a game is clearly in an unfinished state... I think it's wrong to sell it to people. Is this really such a preposterous concept? I'm pretty sure I didn't point any fingers at anyone, nor did I call out any specific game title.
-
Well, I don't think a game should be put into cartridge form and sold to the public unless ALL bugs are sorted out. But that's just my opinion.
-
Just played this on my SD cart... Not impressed. Title screen and music was cool though.

I'd like to see a closer to arcade accurate Pole Position.
-
Looking forward to this!

Oh wow... It's gonna be a while 'til I get mine. ...but worth the wait I suppose.

Create a great AtariAge Desktop Background!

Cool! I wish I still had my Adobe programs... I'd make something killer! -
Nice, That would be cool if one had a personal arcade, like in their basement... and they wanted it to sound like an arcade. Just loop it and pipe it into a receiver connected to various speakers spread throughout the basement.
-
But the game would work, only with no sound? That's kinda cool.

Just a quick ridiculous, stupid question for this evening... What happens if I put an XM cart into a standard 7800... will anything happen?
-
Whatever the most recent emulator is... the point is, use an emulator.
-
Or you can get MacMame and download the arcade rom. In the end, the arcade version is always the best... IMO.

Scammers like this always have more than one ebay account. I'm sure he's bidding on his own items to jack the price up. People do it all the time.

Slightly off topic here, but it would be really cool if we had a home brew of this game. Imagine... a real Cloak & Dagger 5200 game, same label and everything. ...and how cool would it be to play it using the Space Dungeon/Robotron 2084 dual controller thingy?
-
The sad thing is, It is a terrible copy of a movie prop. If the labeling was nicer and he was listing it as a fan made movie prop, and wasn't trying to get a ridiculous amount of money for it... he might actually sell a few. I've never seen someone so desperate to scam someone for so much money... over and over again.

OMG... A lot of nit picking with this game. It's friggin' perfect, even with some minor glitches and bugs. This can't get to my doorstep fast enough. However, I'm glad to see that steps are being taken to make it the best it can be... much appreciated.

The 5200 is a really cool system and was ahead of it's time. It has a nice collection of games, but yes... as you already know the controllers or "finicky". I don't want to say they suck... I used to think they sucked, but they really are great for some games. And there is no point in owning a 5200 without the Trak-Ball... it is a must have. If your going to get into the 5200, be prepared to invest a little time and money into it. It's a high maintenance system, but worth it if you appreciate the system for what it is... a piece of VG history. Also, if your not hell bent on collecting each and every game cartridge... you can get an SD Multicart from Atarimax... then load the roms onto it, then your in business.

That sounds nice! Kinda reminds me of the Sega Master System... Did the SMS use Pokey?

Atariguy1021 just modded a 5200 for me (AV mod). Sent it out and as soon as it arrived he started working on it. Sent it back to me soon after. Great communication and very professional. Now I can use my 5200 on a modern day flat screen! So glad there are people out there like this gentleman who can do this kind of work and are willing to offer their services.

Exact match? Maybe not, but pretty close. The little blue pots are square and fit inside what appears to be an adapter... the adapter shape and diameter is similar to a standard pot. Instead of the Radio Shack analogy, what about pots from a 5200 controller? Except for the lever action shaft, they might fit and work.
-
The Wico stick has two blue plastic pots that are somewhat square in shape. They fit inside of a round adapter and in turn, fit inside a round groove on the inner top shell of the controller. It is reasonable to assume that a pair of standard 500 Kohm pots from Radio Shack would fit inside these grooves. Of course the shaft of the pot would have to be trimmed accordingly.

True, even rebuilt controllers are problematic. They are simply not good controllers for playing games, Period. The best kind of controller IMO, which doesn't seem to exist would be a Playstation 3 type controller with 2 analog thumb pads and a cable that branches out with 2 plugs, for P1 and P2 ports... for games like Robotron and Space Dungeon. It would also need to be switchable between digital and analog. If someone could create this, There would be no need for the original controller, ever again.

I have a Wico stick with shot pots too. I took it apart and noticed the pots are plastic... I'd like to replace them with regular metal ones but don't know the OHM rating. Anyone have this info?
