  1. I've been collecting for the VCS for some time now, and during that time my collection has grown quite large.

Yesterday I was looking at my boxes of games and asked myself, 'Is there really any point to collecting?' So I got a few rares from eBay, cool. Did I end world hunger? No. Why buy these games anyways? So they can sit on a shelf forever? 'cause let me tell ya, I won't be playing Eli's Ladder anytime soon.

  2. Can't believe I didn't notice this before.

On the 7800 I got in this find, I just noticed that it has two "POWER" buttons - where the select button is, it says power.

I'm sure it's still a select button, but somehow has a button with the wrong label on it.

Can only wonder if it was made that way, or if someone made that change at some point.

    Odd.

Looks authentic, but it's not an "ULTRA RARE UNRELEASED PROTOTYPE" or anything. Simply a manufacturer's mistake.

  3. I think I had Commando already, but didn't have my list with me. I know I did not have Beamrider.

This was an unexpected find. Dinky store had some books and crap out on tables on the sidewalk for sale - there were a couple original Playstations there. I asked if they had any Atari stuff, expecting to hear "No," but they said yes, and had a ton of stuff - the 400, 7800, a battered 2600 Vader, and a ton of 2600 games and many 7800 games. Games were in a milk crate, a plastic container made for 2600 carts, and a carrier for 8 track tapes.

Did you take any pictures of the battered Vader?

  4. I think the main reason I saw people write their names on the cartridges back in the day was if they had brothers and sisters or they lent their games out to friends.

Too bad I didn't scribble my initials on my Genesis carts.

  5. 58 carts for $25? Nice score.

I haven't worked with any heavy sixers so this might not help much. Make sure you're on the correct channel. Be sure to plug everything in as tightly as possible without breaking it. If the problem isn't resolved, the TIA chip in you're system is on the verge of failing. Sorry.
