Saw a Colecovision yesterday with a Buy It Now price of $14.99! It had just been posted. I checked an hour later and it was sold. Anyone else see this?

Absolutely! Did it all the time back in the day. The only issue would be if a particular game required you to tell the difference between two colors. For example, on certain levels of Qbert, it could be nearly impossible to distinguish between a cube that you had hopped on and one you had not.

If that's the case, what purpose does the black and white/color switch on the VCS serve?

To prevent fires, I wrap up all my cables. I also unplug systems I'm not using. Power strips don't help me much at all, since all my consoles have that huge box thing.

Holy shit, can anybody come up with a good reason for sticking televisions in solid, heavy ass boxes of WOOD?!?!....lol, it's really quite remarkable. Were people into wood that much?...shit, I guess so...the VCS had faux wood, station wagons (like the Griswalds!) had wood panels....but for the love of Mork, WHY?

I used to have a Chevy Blazer with woodgrain. It just looked cool.

Love this game. Never played the original cabinet, but I have it for the IPhone and its awesome! Good to see there are other fans of this game out there. I had no idea people even knew what it was.

Did Mythicon have any plans on creating sequels to these games? If so, are there any prototypes of these games?

Anyone look into Chuck Norris and see if there's an ending of some sort hiding in the code? That one always seemed kind of odd to me.

I didn't look into the code, but even the manual states there is no "ending".

[2-4 player "party" games?]

If you have paddles, Video Olympics has several four player games that are a blast. For larger groups, the Epyx titles are good, i.e. Summer/Winter/California Games, even though you'd be taking turns, not playing at the same time. My personal favorite though is Indy 500. That's also a great drinking game; choose the ice track and take a drink every time you careen off the track or crash into the other player. Then work off the buzz with a round of Decathlon .

While Beany Bopper's 100,000 point surprise isn't really a kill screen, the game does flip out. I haven't made it much farther then that score.
