Yea i remember Eletronic's Boutique (now GAME) re-buying stock, but what im talking about is the retail sellers around their launch.

So i need someone to help me with an annoying memory i cant work out, or if theirs any general histroy about how these were sold in the UK. I remember boots and shops like John Mensies (now W.H.SMITHS) selling loads of diffferet games from Spectrum, C64 to Mega Drive, master system and snes games during the early 90s but the only place i remember seeing jaguar's and lynx's being sold were Tandy. Although once i saw a jaguar being sold in a pound shop with 5 free games for £99 and more notably GAME/EB selling off stock a few years later. Was their anywhere else they were sold? or its it just my nievity?

It's a little too plain for my tastes. I like how colorful mine are. White with a little red X just doesnt capture the spirt of the game for me. Fair enough, personally im a bit of an otaku anyway so the cuter the artwork the more likely i'll pay out for it in comparrison to western artwork.

I think you'll find the japanese faceplate alot nicer, considering its made from the concept art of the game...

Never really liked the battlefield games, maybe its due to the spawn camping problems and the fact that i could never figure out how to fly those dam hellicoptors or planes.. However i did try Bad Company and i even got the beta but i found the maps boring (their seems to be no character!) and they STILL havent fixed spawn camping so for now i'll stick with warhawk, at least i can fly the planes on that!

Well i didnt have such fond memories like some here, but i rememeber when i was 11 (yea im not that old..) my parents said they had bought me a handheld after i repetivly moaned at them for weeks and when my birthday came my parents bought me a game gear with sonic! Now at the time (early 90s) the market seemed to be satuated with handheld devices, from LCD games to gimicy things like the 'barcode battler' or the game.com and i honestly had no idea what my parents were buying me! I dont regret getting a game gear because i loved that thing to pieces (and it did brake into pieces at one point!) but it wasnt until a few years later when a UK company called "Tandy" got rights to sell the Lynx and Jaguar, and i was amazed and curious about these consoles that id never heard of before, so they stuck in my mind, until years later where i found a lynx in a second hand shop with blue lightening. Now im a big collector of games, and i did have a lynx and a plethoria of games but due to university fees i had to sell the lot and now i REALLY wish i hadnt. Oh well their's always this years Jagfest uk to buy one again!

just put Plynx on my psp and its pretty good (and the screen flipping is great!) but it seriously needs some sound fixes, has there been any development in the project since 0.9?

I never saw nes' in shops as a kid, although i remember seeing everything else under the sun.. CPC, ST, Amiga, SMS and even Speccy! Although the only place i remember seeing lynx or jaguars was in tandy. My guess is tandy must have bought stock before EB got their hands on them.

I've just won a nice lynx collection with a lynx 1, games, adaptor and comlynx. everything seems fine, only the adaptor is making a strange buzzing sound and when i plug in my other adaptor that i use with my lynx 2 it makes no sound at all. So should i be worried about this?

wow fantastic! id like to find a new sealed lynx at some point, but just a quick question. Is that a bundle like the batman + lynx II console or did every lynx I come with California games and a comlynx?

to be honest it depends what your in for. Whether your a collector and want to own all the games complete or a player who just wants the games to play and doesnt care if their complete or not. Personally I just enjoy playing the games so im in no rush to get a complete boxed collection of games. Plus boxed atari stuff is always pricey > <

Yea its a shame to sell it, but as usual i need the money and space. Plus now that the 7800 is emulated on xbox i no longer have a need to keep all the carts.
