When's a decent version of Mail Plane going to be released? The version that is available to the public isn't even worth posting on the internet. Either that for or make a cartridge release for it like Cube Quest or Pitchers Duel.

Sold him some Vectrex overlays and it was a pleasure doing business with him.

I just got a good deal on a Neo Geo X Joystick and was thinking about get it modded or modding it myself.
-
Original ones cost almost as much as the modded ones.
I'm not a fan of the Sega ones because they are 3 button with Start being the fourth. The SNES one is better but then you have to remember which order the buttons are in. I like the 8 button Arcade joysticks, but that Madcatz Flight Stick is really interesting.
-
I remember seeing a video of someone playing Patriots with a modded trackball. I've done the spinner mod but this looked really involved.

21 games originally sold separately plus the Minestorm overlay. Light pen games and 3D imager games did not use them.
In the homebrew scene, only City Bomber, Vectrexians, Vector Pilot, Protector LE, Spike's Circus LE, Star Sling, Logo LE, Vec Sports Boxing LE, VeCaves/Spike's Spree and both Debris LE and Debris Revisited VIP (not sure if they are the same) came with overlays plus Warrior when its finished. Anything else is a fan made overlay.
Some publishers only check their emails once a week like Kristoff and John but they do get back to you.

When you factor all the costs, he is probably only making about 1-2 bucks an overlay which means that once he factors in his time, he's not even making minimum wage to produce them.
Until you hear from me, do not give vectrexoverlays.com, omeganu (his AA ID) or Edward Smelser any money. I have been patiently waiting and have been trying to contact him through email and private message to check the status of an order I paid for 2 months ago.
Follow-up:
Edward refunded my money and stated that they were returned damaged. In addition, he stated that he would no longer be producing overlays.
-
I would be willing to do designs to get the ball rolling on reproduction overlays again.
-
I am aware. I'm patiently waiting and will give him sufficient time to respond to either my email or private message. Until I hear from him, I only caution anyone else.

The last Minestorm overlay I saw went for 33 bucks. Here is one that is BIN for 20 plus one that has a starting bid of 20.
And another starting at 10 bucks.

I have seen Centipede on the Vectrex.
It is an unfinished demo Easter Egg in one of John Dondzilla's games!
Ok, Vectrepede on Spike Hoppin. I own this game and had no idea that this game was there.
BTW Breakout is on Vecmania plus Micheal Borrman made one called Blocks.

Tempest has already been done a couple of times on the Vectrex. Battle Zone was started and never finished. That's what I don't understand is how people want to remake or do their own versions of games that are already on Vectrex. Now, Centipede would be something that no one has done yet.
I'm not sure that the Vectrex is suited for platformers but I'd like for someone to prove me wrong. Its suited best for shooters. I think a Final Fight or Zelda type game would be more doable and enjoyable.
One concept that I haven't seen used often is how in Herc's Adventures you died and the game wasn't over.

Black Widow did look like an awesome game. We just need more people writing games.

That's kind of what Super Spike World was, a demo on Space Frenzy by John Donzilla.

I sure could use one of those VecMultis to play this game. I refuse to play emulators.

Vectrex owners are lucky to have had so many different items and mods made for controllers but unfortunately almost everyone of those items is either no longer made or made in someones spare time. The instructions for making them are out there, just most are not for the novice. I will say that the 2600 Paddle is about as simple a mod as you can get. That is analog but only good for certain games.

And it's mine. Now I have to decide if I'm going to try and hunt down the games or just get a mutli-cart. For this I'm thinking multi-cart even though for NES and Atari I've avoided that. Then I have to start looking at homebrews, but that's for the winter when money frees up.
Is Andrew Coleman's Mulit-Cart still available? I've been thinking about getting it myself.

Or just wait until Richard Hutchingson offers his VecMulti with the downloadable Flash SD card so you can put any rom available on it.

I've always wanted one, after playing em through the years. If I could find a decent Asteroids clone and a way to reduce that capacitor hum, I'd pay good money for one. Since I'm wishing: two joysticks, mint cabinet, multicart with repro overlays for all the games. That would make me happy!
What about Rockaroids?
And don't get too dependent on the fact that reproduction overlays are OFFERED, as its been almost 2 months and I haven't received anything from vectrexoverlays.com. I thought I'd give the guy a shot but I'm thinking its just easier to make my own especially since I can design the overlays myself.

Both Vector Pilot and Vectrexians are available through Kristof Tuts. I just received copies of both and he still provides them in a quality clam shell with a screen printed overlay. But he may take a while to return your email.

There are so few games for the Light Pen that I think this is essential.
