I didn't gather that. Sorry. AtariAge isn't the best place for Vectrex discussion. There is a fair amount but a lot of people new to the Vectrex. Most of the Vectrex discussion goes on between the Vector Gaming Forums and the Facebook Group Vectrex Fans Unite. If you'd like to start up a competition, I'd recommend posting there as well. Don't expect a huge turnout though. Last year there were 2 tournaments and both had less than a dozen participants. One was a 2 month competition for Shifted by Revival Studios and the other was Vector War IV which included games like Armor Attack, Bedlam, Clean Sweep, Narzod, Starhawk, VFrogger, Protector, Birds of Prey and Zantis.

There are something like over 100 (almost 30 original and a little over 70 homebrew). There are also quite a number of digital only, freely downloadable games. There are quite a few games that are only available through purchase and have no binaries available including Revival's games, Tutstronix's games, Vectorzoa's games, Irrelevant, Cube Quest and a few Fury games. Hate to tell you but there are already 2 dedicated Vectrex Highscore lists. And they don't get a lot of submissions. http://speechmachineband.com/scoreboard-vec http://www.vectrex.co.uk/ -Hit the Hi-scores tab.

I purchased a light pen last year from Chuck. There are a lot of people getting high prices on ebay for items that you can purchase brand new for much less. Chuck may return. He's the only one I know of who offered a SNES controller for the Vectrex and there was never an SNES adapter. If he doesn't return I hope that he makes his board designs available so people can use a service to get their own boards printed.

Lots of people with fast fingers.

At the moment, its only available for download. It will be available next year for purchase but currently can be uploaded to your Mateos Multicart or VecMulti. http://www.luchs-soft.de/down.htm

Universal Game Cases do they have their own website, I can't find it
50TBRD replied to high voltage's topic in Atari 2600
I asked TheCoverProject, net about hosting my Vectrex Designs for universal game cases (or VHS cases) but they didn't care whatsoever. My guess is that other systems would be met with similar apathy. -
There are still very few people who have been able to see a screen-printed overlay to its finish. My suggestion is to take one finished design and see if you can get it printed. I'd recommend getting the permission of computer-classics.de to produce one set of overlays from Minestorm. Minestorm is desirable enough to where plenty of people would purchase a good reproduction as long as the cost is between 15-25 bucks since ebay prices are around double that.

Craigslist is really one of the best places to look. Close and the sell usually isn't looking to get top dollar for it.

There were some folks who experimented with Fresnel Lenses (aka TV magnifier).

Hyperchase is pretty nice with a modified Steering Wheel from a PC.

http://garrysgamingblog.blogspot.com/p/programming-projects.html Vec Wars (Geometry Wars clone) is available for free download. Its a very nice game but Garry has said that he's working on an even better version. I agree that a weighted base is is probably the best solution for a dual stick controller. I've seen driving wheels that had sand-filled bases. There are a few adapters in the works that also give excellent solutions for dual stick and dual analog controls. Clay Cowgil is about to produce a limited run of his PSX adapters again and there is a new developer who is posting on Facebook about his new universal USB adapter for the Vectrex. The PSX adapter would allow you to use the Dual analog shock controllers or even the Dual Analog Stick SCPH-1110 and the USB adapter would allow you to use just about any universal dual stick controller. Here's the link to Chris Tumber's discussion on using 2 joysticks for a dual analog stick as well as discussion of a WIP now entitled "Incursion". http://vectorgaming.proboards.com/thread/1092/likes?page=1

Akator's list is pretty much what I would write.

Black Widow and Major Havoc have never been done but all the others have clones on the Vectrex, in some cases even 2 versions. Garry has made a good Geometry Wars clone which uses the exact same controls and gameplay. Also, another of Chris Tumbers ideas was to rotate both controller 1 and 2 90 degree to use them as dual analog controllers. A lot of the Vectrex' shortcomings have been overcome even using the Imager for color rather than just a 3D effect.

Mark Robson started one. Number of objects that youre able to display on the Vectrex is a limiting factor. However, Chris Tumber has recently come up with new methodology which allows the Vectrex to display as many as 50 objects on screen without flicker. This would be essential to its programming to execute an accurate clone.

Thrust will be available again new soon enough from Packrat.

Anyone make Vectrex and/or Arcadia 2001-style boxes?
50TBRD replied to Blazing Lazers's topic in Vectrex
I can design boxes for any application and have already designed boxes for a number of Vectrex games for VHS clamshell inserts including Pitchers Duel, Irrelevant, 72 in 1, City Bomber, Mail Plane and a few Fury Games. It was/is my intention to design VHS inserts for all the original games to increase the collectibility of loose games and make them more uniformly displayable. Redesigning the original boxes for cardboard printed reproductions is a task that few people would take on, so if it's something that you wanted done, my suggestion is to do it yourself. -
If you don't buy homebrew games than you are missing out on some very great games. Some better than the original games both GCE and other home ports. Protector, Vector Pilot, Death Chase and Thrust are examples of truely awesome homebrew games. In addition, the homebrew scene has developed new 3D Imager games and possibly new Light Pen games in the future.

Vectrex Shells and PCBs interest check (colors, multi-carts too)
50TBRD replied to 5-11under's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
That's pretty awesome -
That was the predecessor to The Definitive Guide to Vectrex Collecting. I always wonder who might have all 4 (VeCaves, Irrelevant, Hexed and Solar Wars). Or who might have the most of all 4 other than Mayhem who was unable to acquire Irrelevant before they were sold out. I don't have have Solar Wars though Solar Wars would be the deciding factor since there are only 10. 3 copies of VeCaves have come up for sale in the last 2 months and 3 copies of Hexed in the last 6 months. Solar Wars hasn't come up since Pepijn sold his copy and no one has let loose of their copy of Irrelevant that I know of so far. A fair amount of most homebrews come up, including most of the Fury games. Sectis, 3D Sector X, the Vectorzoa games and Chris Tumber's games come up the least frequent. What may be surprising is games like Protector LE, Debris EE/Debris Revisited VIP have come up fairly often. And usually when 1 person lists a rare/uncommon game, others follow almost immediately like when all of the sudden 3 copies of the Mail Plane Prototype showed up within weeks after so much absence.

http://tbone1892001.wix.com/vectrex-elite I have done an article on a similar topic. However, there are a number of releases which are almost identical in gameplay, only the packaging varies. Taking this into account, I'd say that these are the rarest games. Solar Wars 2 Player Preview - only 10 Irrelevant - only 34 Hexed! - only 50 VeCaves/Spikes Spree - only 84 (soon to be re-released) The roms to these games have never been released and never been on any multicart. The only way to play them is you are extremely lucky to own one. Grey area : Joust Evolution is a prototype and auctioned with 2 carts. No rom exists outside of this. Fresssakk only had one cart made for the winner of the high score between 7/6 and 7/25, 2014 but is available for download. Warrior has only had around 5 carts delivered so far. Other exclusive roms : Bombenhagel is only available on Madtronix multicarts. Between the Classic, Modern and Bundle carts, there is probably on about 50 or so so far. Spike Goes down was only available on the 100 Protector LE carts and is not available for download. Sectis and 3D Sector X each had a release of 150 carts and are neither available for download or on a multicart.

Looking for Vaboom/Vectrace, it does seem to have gotten lost in Entries by Alphabetical Order but is there by search or Entries by Developer (Vectrexcarts.com). I will take care of it now.

I've been working on a new resource for Vectrex Collectors and Enthusiasts. I call it the Definitive Guide to Vectrex Collecting. It's a website which includes all Homebrew released games and hardware (eventually original equipment). There is comparisons of all versions and variations of each release as well as pictures and information that is not available anywhere else on the internet. I've tried to offer a good amount of info relating to collecting but for more in depth information of each item, I've provided links to the Vectrex Wikia. Also included is a filterable and searchable checklist which can be used as a rarity list or resource for determining value (how many produced, whether the rom has been released, whether its still available). http://tbone1892001.wix.com/vectrex-guide

I just got my Boxed Bundle Multicarts from Madtronix. Really great Multicart. Menu driven, over 100 games, most of Donzillas (which aren't produced at the moment), Manus games, 2 City Bombers (Martijns is not as polished but easier than Andy's) and this is the only way to play Bombenhagel.
