  1. Just reposting because I think Fothlyrdrag missed it. :)

simple enough ill add it into the final cut

    thanks

the game itself is short, and therefore i made the difficulty high, ive said it before and ill say it again. when you do get to the final boss and possibly kill it, ITS SOOOO rewarding! ive had 2 people beat it out of the 6 that tried :P

  2. only one person said frogger!

i have that shit in my VCS at all times, with a copy of galaxian right next to it..

    Frogger! ---- numba one

Galaxian! (I have a galaga arcade sitting in my gfs living room and when im at my house i play this!)

Pole Position (i find myself putting this in almost everytime i play 2600 lol)

    Centipede V-V

Milipede -play these two almost everytime too

  3. I got to Level 2, and it definitely gets better on that level. I know you're working on your "contra" style game, but I think this title deserves to have some improvements made to make it a super awesome game. Here are some of the ideas that I would like to see worked on:

The tombstones actually blocking your movement.

Maybe have a difficulty selection, so you can start at a faster/harder level from the outset.

    Perhaps, have a continue feature?

I like the changing of the day (colors)

    I like the character animation.

I'm digging the game, but a larger/bigger game could be a really cool experience. Thanks for making this!

Mike thanks for the feedback, ive really considered many of these possibilities before, and i understand that some things can be better.

But instead of rebuilding this game and adding more levels im compelled to continue with my other project.

Ive said before this is my first game and it is not perfect. I can say that this is like a teaser for what is to come.

I love action shooters and survival horror style games and that is what i plan to create.

I want to leave this game pure, There is story line to this game that is only explained in the manual. And it makes sense of whats going on in the game.

  4. I didn't like the game at all. Already deleted. Plus: that flickering hires logo... I mean why? Why did you spend your time doing that instead of doing something about the gameplay itself? This is certainly not the way to go. Next time, please, desing something like Seaweed Assault... the real gameplay is the key to success, not flickering intros, this is not a C64 (demo) scene, this is Atari 2600...

No this kind of feedback is a good thing, yet it could have been more polite yes :P..

The intro was designed by [email protected], i think he did an amazing job!

I do understand that the first lvl is tough to bare through but it gets better, the second level is really the hardest part of the game. and for good reason.

Im an avid Nes collector and recently got into VCS i wanted this game to have that nes feel to it without loosing the 2600 spirit.. i know its simple and straight forward but yet its challenging in its own way. Have you even fought the final boss?

    Thanks for the true feedback!

  5. Thanks everyone!

I feel that i could have done more and more when i finished, i still had a list of stuff that i wanted to add.

But ive been working on a Contra style game that has proven to be quite amazing. (first hint on this subject to anyone)

I really like the capabilities that bataribasic has for someone with almost no knowledge of programming to make a completely awsome playable game.

I made this game short yet challenging, there are points where i though it could have been refined like waiting and waiting for lvl 1 to end..

The final boss of this game was actually intended for my next game but it fit just right. And the first time people fight it, its jaw dropping.

I hope to hear more feedback about this game because there was a very small group of testers and it seemed rushed at points..

But all in all im totally happy and will be getting the copies i promised made aswell as copies for myself.

To answer the "complete" question. cart, instructions, and box.

Thanks! im really happy and hung over :P

  6. I dont think this post belong here but we can all relate with power supplies for all systems..

Anyway, I have a 10V Dc power supply for a super Nintendo that reads 15V! is this bad?

Also ive noticed when i opened a few other power supplies like atari's and these dont have regulation! so they can read wierd numbers..

I bought a few new ones and there not heavy at all i thought this odd so i opened one up and found that they are regulated and there isnt a big stepdown prosses ( the heavy part )

Anyway im just woundering if 15V is high for a 10v Adaptor?

The 9v adapters stay around 8-10

    Thanks

  7. Aydan, Ive went over those ideas before with various testers and although they sound good in theory they do not fit into the way this game was made. Ive learned alot while making this game and i plan to use what ive learned to make my next project bigger and better.

Bomberpunk, I was looking into a way to make a video for this game but i may just upload a cheesy video with my phone of the gameplay and chaos that is Project Z

  8. Hello, Ive been working on my first 2600 Program called Project Z, Its a fast pased Shoot em up with waves of Zombies and Skeletons alike.

There are three main Levels, Each with its own challenges, Two Large bosses, and a Gigantic Final Boss, ( Ive not yet hinted of this boss untill today.)

Im Curious if people will be interested in this game as Its finished and ready for production.

Ive already promised two of my loyal helpers a free Complete Copy. But im not sure if im going to release it as a complete copy or not.. So there may only be 5-10 of these made..

Im just seeing how interested the community will be in this type of game.. As i said before this is my first 2600 effort, but i have learned alot from this project and continue to learn from all the helpful people on this site.

So without further a due..... Screen Shots!

  9. white stuff? The thermal paste that is supposed to be on it to transfer heat equally? Probably should add more if it is

hahaha it it really thermal paste? i was all worried it was corrosion :P, making sure not to touch any of it and all lol.. i did however let it run for quite awhile already and it does not heat up to much, it and the shield get warm but thats it. should i go get some thermal paste? or is it not a big deal?

  11. Is it simple enough to just switch out chips?

yea id presume i pulled the tia chip and cleaned the contacts and it helped alot but its still flickering! but no more color black outs :S i also found some new tia chips online for 15$ with shipping gonna order one and see if it fixes the problems im having

I wish i had some old busted 2600's to test this theory with first befor i spend the loot lol

  12. yes i just tested two other pitfall carts and still flickering.. also tested power supplies and another cord from the system to the box itself.. and the box too :P i think i seen a site selling these chips for like 8 bucks might be worth it to get one :S Thanks to everyone who didn't post i found help in the chat room :D THANKS

  13. OK fist i wasnt sure if this was the correct forum :S sorry if not

Second i got a Heavy sixer recently it came with 58 cart only games paid 25$

    claimed it worked well..

    Cleaned it....

    Hooked it up...

Poped a game in and fired it up....

    It works.... Kinda...

I noticed the colors where wrong..

Simple fix i thought.. Grabbed Pitfall and adjusted the color pot untill it was right..

Well while playing i noticed it would jump from the green pitfall background to a bright blue, then very little color... almost B&W

I though aha this is fixable.. changed the Color pot, R212? and R213? dont quote me on those resisters i cant remember exaclty what #'s they where..

    Almost fixed!!!

Still getting the green bleeding into bright blue...

IS THIS THE TIA CHIP GOING BAD???

    Any help would rock!

    Thanks!

  14. Hey everyone,

So i bought a Galaga cabinet at an auction for 60$! So i decided to fix it up.

At first when plugged in i got Nothing...

So i swapped all the fuses! bam i got music and fireing sounds but no screen..

so i pulled the CRT and noticed a fuse on the chassis and swapped it!

    Bad part......

When i put it all back together and plugged it in FIRE! shot from the neck board!!!

I quickly unplugged it and began to investigate! Blown fuse and a bad Solder point on the neckboard!

desolder clean resolder + new fuses... plug it in Cross my fingers..... BAM its ALIVE!!

I still had to adjust the colors and scrolling ect..ect..

Ok so now it works perfectly coin mechs work controlls everything! its great! but wait......

A Helicopter? Little guys with swords??? wth i thought..

Apon much research i found out that my cabinet had a rom chip replaced with a so called terrorist chip!

but thats all i could find out.. they where made in 88? maybe... and nothing else about it

Does Anyone have any information on this chip?

    Is it rare?

    Is it valuable?

    How many where made?

    Are they still made today?

Should i get the original rom chip?

    LMK THANKS!!!!!!
