Grrrr... what is it with these mo-fo buyers thinking they can just set their own prices?
I've emailed him several times saying... no... no... no. (And, it's not just one game... he wants all 3 games for that price.) I'm not selling games for charity. I'm using the money to pay my bills.
Grrrr.

You mean you WANT me to blow my brains out of my head?

OK in your Auctions you should have hadHello? I do have that disclaimer.

some look with a microscope at every lesser invisible scratch or bend, other look to the S/N & picture because they're searching for a SPECIFIC production range / features combination, other may want to take a look at the dates because only a well-known era of the goods' history matches their interests...Like I said before, that's a good point, but 99% of the stuff I sell is brand-new or like-new condition. My stuff doesn't have scratches or ripped labels or anything like that.
I wish I could afford a digital camera.

The current systems are being given an unusually long life span so we should expect some of the excitement to wear off.PS2=2000-2005 is 5 years... that's standard. Actually, the Cube and Box are only 4 years, which is SHORT for console life.
The crash of 1984 was partly caused by the companies themselves. Yes, people stopped buying stuff, but instead of regrouping, many companies just gave up. The declared gaming to be dead. Even Atari quit.
Smarter companies (Nintendo/Sega) realized that the game recession was merely a blip, and NOT the end of videogames. And they jumped into the vacuum left by the idiot American companies.
Fast-forward to modern times: Videogames may receed in popularity, but I don't think Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft will be as bone-headed as Atari and just "give up"! They'll scale back the number of releases per year, but they won't quit. There won't be a crash.

MacGurl (or whatever her name is) was right. There are a lot of people on this board that should be ignored.
Look, I'm not interested in having a fight. I was asked for an opinion, and then I expressed that opinion.
The End.

think of the DPC chip like a memory indexer for the 2600. The 2600 is freed from having to manually increment indexes to memory. It can simply read from a fixed address and get back different data with each read. The DPC detects the read and exposes a new byte of data, like a stream. That way the program kernel can be highly simplified, which frees up enough time to do more changes to the registers per screen/line.Wow. And David Crane thought of this? Wow. He must be a genius.
What is David Crane doing now?

Well folks,, what do you think of this fine ebay'r??You asked.
I answered.
And then you called me an "asshole", because you didn't like what I said. I think you should take that finger and point it towards yourself. Or else, don't ask for people's thoughts.
-
It would be very easy for me (or the other Homebrewers) to prove the opposite since it is clearly stated in the contract and my name is on the title screen.Well good!

-
The DPC chip does a lot more than just the music. The game would not work at all without it.Just curious... what else does it do?
-
The game is on sale. BUY IT.
What I'd like to know... if I play Metroid Zero, is Original Metroid still worth playing?

Does anyone have a map?

Well isn't the code totally different between the 2600 and the 5200?No. The 2600 version was directly ported to the 5200... and then modified for the different CPU. Because the programmer took the simple "cut and paste" approach, it gave him extra time to create the second game. Anyway, the result is that the 2600/5200 are nearly identical.
re: Making Pitfall 2 carts... would it be possible to make Pitfall 2 without the music co-processor? No music, but still the same game.

Would you want to buy something That you have know Idea what it Realy looks like.
It depends. If it's a brand-new game or brand-new GameCube or grand-new something-else, then I see nothing wrong with taking a picture from amazon.com and using it in my auction. Brand-new is brand-new. It makes no difference.
However, if I'm selling a car with a smashed hood, and I post a picture of a brand-new car, then YES it matters.
.
ASIDE: I don't have a digi-cam. So I just take what pictures I find off the internet. Usually amazon.com.

If you don't read the auction don't bid, I believe I read that somewhere.
Oh, I know where I read it, in your thread about shippng charges.Yeah, but I put it >>>>>in plain sight<<<<< where people can see it (the very first line & the payment terms box). Look at this auction description:
This auction is for a Atari 2600 Sears Tel-Games Pic label version of the game listed in the title and photo'd below, whew;) Game has been tested and works great. The Tele-Game versions of Atari 2600 games were just the same as the regular Atari released version except for maybe a name change or a different label (early versions were just text, no pics) These carts in general are a little rarer than their Atari counterpart, and Fun To Collect:) . To see my collection check out Atarigoods.com or click here!!! Guaranteed to be as described or Your Money Back!! tnks for looking:).. . Please email with any questions, Shipping anywhere in the continental USA for $2.75 for first game, $.80 for each addtional. Win 12 game cart auctions and get free shipping. Feel free to check out my other auctions and thanks for looking. Actual Pic of Cart you are bidding on, this auction is only for the Cart listed in the Title, NOT for all of the carts in the pic, see my other auctions if you wish to bid on the others:) tnks again and good luck!Although I don't have much patience for dumb bidders, the SAME applies to dumb sellers who post incoherent/confusing auctions. You have the information HIDDEN deep within the text. AND you have large photos of multiple games. It's confusing.
AND you did not explain, "Why's it so difficult to edit the picture for just one game?" That's what I do on my auctions... why do you not do it?
Your auction reminds me of those deceptive auctions that say "Get a cheap Gameboy"...and then hidden in fint print: "I will provide *information* on how to get a Gameboy, not an actual Gameboy."
Yeah sure, the info is there, but it's still confusing/deceptive.

The reason I signed up was ebay seems to be the best place to find obscure or hard to get items.P.S. I don't see differing opinions as insulting, but being called an ass, cry baby, or snide remarks are insulting.
Yeah, people on this forum can be extremely rude. We can disagree with one another without resorting to 2-yr-old childish insults. Also, another good source for hard to find stuff (well, game anyway) is amazon.com. You'll pay more money though.

What reasons do you think PoP is not doing so well?Same reason as Beyond Good & Evil:
It's the Second Coming (of the Gaming Crash)! People are abandoning video games! The horror! The horror!
No wait... I get all kind of cool games for only $10. Gaming Crash! Yaaaay!

-
I'd buy it! The 5200 version is okay, but I really prefer the nostalgia of the 2600. If I could get the second half of Pitfall on the 2600, I'd dump the 5200 version.
It shouldn't be too hard... just double the ROM size to allow room for the second half.

FOLLOW-UP:
The guy said he refused to mail cash or check. Weird. So I agreed to take his credit card. End of story right?
Nope. Now he says, "I changed my mind, I don't want the game." Argh!!!

"Anyone ever finish Pitfall II??"
This is kind of a silly question. Pitfall 2 is really NOT that hard. Just collect the the diamond, the niece, and finally the cat. Bam...you're done.
Getting a perfect score is a *little* more challenging, but still not difficult. Just a matter of perfect timing.

Sadly, he did not mention the fact that "Anthology" carries seven homebrew games.
He probably did not know those were homemade games. He probably thought they were Activision-made.
I wonder if, ten years from now, some idiot at Activision will try and claim these homebrew games are owned by Activision.? And as proof he'll point to the Anthology and say, "See? All these games are copyrighted by Activision."
It would not surprise me. -
I can't wait until games improve so much that everything in the game looks real, even the characters.I don't know. I like the "abstract look" of controlling a round yellow pac-man or a stick figure pitfall. Realism is nice for character-driven games like RPGs, but for most games I prefer simplicity over lots of detail.

Look again.
Yeah I agree with bjk7382. I shouldn't have created this subject, because my bitching about it won't change anything.
