  1. TWO QUESTIONS: - Why is having buttons under the sticks retarded? Please explain. - 6 face and 2 trigger is only 8 buttons: An inferior design to the current 10-button model. So why do you think your 6 face/2 trigger is better?
  2. There is a difference. A *true* cartridge system can be expanded with new games... an infinite amount of game. The Odyssey can only play the ~10 games pre-installed into the console. It can not be expanded. WHAT WAS the theoretical limit of the N64's cartridges? I always thought it was a huge number (like 1024 megabytes), but they were limited by the cost of the ROM chips. RE2 used 25 megabytes for movies. I still can't believe they squeezed all that data (hundreds of megabytes) into only 25 megabytes. Amazing.
  3. Sorry. I only jack-off to naked women. There's no such thing as a nude DOA. (Yet...I'm sure Mickeysoft will make one if their sales drop.)
  4. You mean 32 and 64 megabits You know, this is the THIRD time someone corrected me about carts/bits/bytes. And I'm not even wrong! Why don't you critics go CHECK YOUR FACTS first before jumping all over other posters?!?!? Anyway, no, I meant what I said. Look here: "The hulking 512-megabit [64 megabyte] game pack is the largest to hit the Nintendo 64" from http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00...0068682-8030270
  5. I don't believe you. No offense intended... I just don't see how the Disney DDR could fit onto an N64 cart. Anyway, got a link/citation?
  6. Make sure to go look for a pair of tweezers and a magnifying glass first. This from a man named "Bushie"..... you're pussy-whipped?
  7. So how does the "2D" part work? Are those giant sprites on screen? Or are they just flattened polygons like Paper Mario?
  8. More detail: The demo won't let you go outside a certain area. For example, I tried to sail to Link's Home Island, but the Boat suddenly said, "We must head east" and suddenly turned around. The demo only has 1 island, 1 dungeon, and 1 castle. That's it.
  9. Well since I'm not much to look at (pun intended), I always start with a very, very, very light hand and/or arm massage. That gets my dates tingly and horny and longing for my fingers to massage some other body part. Anyway, if a game ever features a girl as sexy as that Asian woman from the Animatrix, and she's naked, I'll probably put down the joystick and pick up a different one.
  10. I agree. I was playing Star Wars Racer Revenge today, and I noticed that every button is with easy reach: Both analog sticks, all 4 shape buttons, and all 6 L/R shoulder buttons are easily accessible even in the heat of racing. I never thought I'd be able to handle 10 buttons and two joysticks all at the same time, but the PS2 controller makes it effortless!
  11. I've just spent the last 4 hours playing this, and once again, I don't see why SW: RR got all these negative reviews. I think it's a great racing game! Lots of speed, cool graphics, and awesome John Williams' music. I was planning to sell it, but I think this is a keeper. Just curious: How does the N64 version compare? I'm thinking about getting it if it's a better game.
  12. OKAY THANKS! I'll stick to Virtua Fighter 4 and Tekken Tag and Soul Edge. :-)
  13. It's cheap, but I don't want to waste my time on another crap game (like Dark Stone was).
  14. I don't see how DDR could be made for *any* cart system. Not even the Nintendo64. The reason DDR became popular is because it played popular dance music straight off the CD, so gamers were "dancing" to the same stuff in the clubs. Cartridges simply don't have enough room to hold all that pre-recorded music. Sure you could recreate MIDI-style music straight from the console, but who wants to dance to that crap? Not me.
  15. In the same way that Pac-Man World 1 was a 2D platformer. It's a sideways scroller with a fixed camera, not true 3D like Mario or Spyro. As for platformer, that's debateable. But I consider the different floors to be platforms that Luigi moves up and down.... just like Pitfall 2.
  16. (1) 1.5 GB divided by 190 = 8 megabytes. N64 carts were a lot larger than that with Zelda being 32 megabytes and RE2 being 64 megabytes. (2) So what? The DVD consoles hold 8.5 gigabytes... what's so great about 1.5??? Color me un-impressed. I think the PS1 has it beat... 110 million and counting.
  17. Being married is like being a virgin. Thank God for Playboy.com
  18. Halo was sold for $20 during Thanksgiving. Kep your eye on cheapassgamer.com for future sales.
  19. (see subject) . . . Me, I don't see the difference between admiring the beauty of polygons or a painting or a statue. Dead or Alive Volleyball, Mona Lisa, or Venus... they are all beautiful. How that beauty is created is IRRELEVANT.
  20. I'm glad I didn't listen to the reviews. This game was *far* from mediocre. Definitely one of the best 2D platformers I've played (and the best for the Cube). The only reason I bought this game was because of EBgames "2 for $25" deal, and I thought $12.50 was a good deal for Luigi's even if reviewers said it was mediocre. Going around and sucking up ghosts didn't sound like fun, but fortunately Luigi turned out to be a lot like Zelda: - Enter room - Explore - Find out the secret to beat the room's ghosts. The graphics... the sound... the overall atmosphere of the game was perfect for recreating the eerie environment of a haunted mansion (just as Banjo-Kazooie's atmosphere was near-flawless). Cheers for Luigi's Mansion bringing back some classic/retro style goodness. Oh and one more thought: Length. No it was not too short. It was *just right*. I'd rather play a short, solid game like Luigi's than a game that goes on far too long and feels streeeetched like Metroid Prime or Zelda: Wind Waker. Luigi's ended just as I was starting to get bored... making it the perfect length IMHO.
  21. We need a Flicker-Fixer (tm-Amiga). Anyone make an emulator that eliminates sprite flicker?
  22. I've done it, and it's not easy. You need to use spring-loaded probes that encircle the metal pin and grasp it. Also, you have to turn the system on/off whenever you want to move the probe. My solution was to use a Logic Analyzer and put a probe on almost every pin (~150)... and then leave it that way for weeks as I tested the FPGA. It was a mess. A Ball-Grid Array is actually easier to use. Hard to solder on the board, but you can probe from underneath the board.
  23. Since these N64 games are FREE, Nintendo did not want to spend money on a full-fledged port. The emulation route was probably cheaper. Frankly, I'm surprised the emulated games work as good as they do. The Cube is only ~5 times faster than the N64. Typically emulation requires 20 times more speed (~1500 MHz) to get flawless, no-slow-down N64--->PC gaming. Anyway, I'm happy. I get 4 games that I've never played... and all for free. I saved myself ~$150 on used carts/systems.
