Kid got bad grades, I got a GBA SP....lol
RCmodeler replied to Mock's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Show her ass? Is she a college girl? I bet she has a nice... okay, I won't go there. (ducking and running) -
That's okay. A company re-releasing 15-20-yr-old games at brand-new prices *is* a negative idea.

I wish Atari had used their original stereo effects idea. It would be as simple as having three cables: Video, Left, Right. It would have been the only computer or console of the 70s to have stereo effects... one tank coming from the left speaker and one tank coming from the right speaker. (sigh) Oh well.

Buy a Watchman. (A portable TV.)

Best Idea Ever. It's clear to me that this E-Reader card deal is Nintendo milking the game public for money in exchange for 15-20 year old games. $30 for a "NES Collection" that is durable and will last for years makes more sense to me than ~$100 for an E-reader plus a couple dozen card games. Nintendo is being greedy.

(looks at map) That has to be one of the ugliest games I've ever seen. The colors totally and completely clash with one another. Like pink & green. Who on earth thought that would love good?!?!?

Dungeons & Dragons is an RPG. Adventure/Raiders/ET are not. I'm glad to see HSW here. He, along with Sid Meier, produced my absolute favorite games. Each has shown consistently good gaming sense.

Really? How much damage does a "character throw" cause? Does it kill the character? I always thought Khimari's explode attack was cool. Not too useful, but if you want to quickly finish a battle, his ~5000 point self-sacrifice can be handy.

Let's see... In 1998(?) there were three games released: FF Tactics, Legends, and 8. In 2003, we are getting four: FF10-2, 11, Crystal Chronicles, and Tactics Advance. So really, nothing's changed. Square's milking the franchise just like they always have.

Interesting idea, I'm not sure why I haven't thought of the [email protected] becoming a PStwo. Probably because the mechs inside, as well as all the expansion features, would never work on a smaller form factor. Sony is registered the name "PStwo" as a trademark. So obviously they are planning some sort of re-design. In theory they could use the PSone form factor with the top-loading case.
-
Boy you're cheap. It's only $50...same as a just-released game. Just buy one already. Or better yet, just get a PS2, then you'll have two consoles in one. As for PSone ending production, I think Sony will be converting that factory to PStwo manufacturing.

Do you like how Infogrames has handled Atari?
RCmodeler replied to Gregory DG's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Thank God! Do you really want the old Atari with crapola like Pac-Man, Defender, and Home Run? I think Infogrames is actually doing better than the original Atari did. -
+$50 for the E-reader (or whatever it costs). I'm sure that Nintendo could easily port these games to GBA carts and sell them for $5 a cart.

I uncovered Vincent's story on gamefaqs.com. Not a very interesting character... even less so than Yuffie. He's like that big yeti creature in FF6: two-dimensional, undeveloped character.
-
And they got away with that? They weren't sued?
-
Is that possible? Does 2600 have separate luminance/chrominance signals to tap into? I thought the answer was no.

I saw these E-reader cards at my local EB, and I realized how stupid the whole idea is. The cards I saw are so beat up that you have to swipe them multiple times to make them work (like a worn-out credit card). The single-card games are lame, and the good games would require ~10 cards. Plus, what happens if you lose one? Tough luck! It would make more sense and be more practical to simply release these games as GBA carts. The carts are easier to store, easier to handle, and more durable. Selling games as dot-coded cards is as stupid as trying to store Word documents on 70s-era punchcards.

Why ticked?

I'm curious, but not curious enough to waste several days leveling up and getting his ultimate weapon. I'll just ignore him.

(see subject) For Me: Ms. Pac-Man. I've been playing that game off-and-on for the last 20 years, and it still hasn't lost its addictiveness. I can rent those "story games" like FF10 and Tactics Advance, but they aren't replayable. Once you've seen the story, that's the end of them. Ms. Pac-Man's appeal never dies.
-
Is that on the web somewhere? I'd like to watch it.

I'm almost done with FF7 (second time around), and I've uncovered everyone's back story. Except Vincent. What's the deal with this guy? He was sleeping in a coffin, and he has the ability to turn into strange monsters. But what is his story?

Music? On the 2600? I'd rather listen to my C=64 SIDtunes collection. But anyway, the best music is Pitfall 2. Unfortunately it has the same flaw as the Super Mario Bros... too darn repetitive. I listen to the music for about 30 minutes, and then turn down the volume. Actually, a lot of games, even new ones like Metroid Prime and Final Fantasy have the same flaw (same music over-and-over-and-over-and-over-and...).

Hmmm... maybe this is the GOOD porn (as opposed to bad hentai) game that I've been looking for. The pictures certainly look promising. Lots of curvy ladies in bikinis.
