Please change your name to "Mr. Gullible". By the way, I have the Brooklyn Bridge up for sale. Can I write you down for $100?

I got a neutral feedback because "game sucks"...?!
RCmodeler replied to dinovelvet's topic in Auction Central
When someone leaves me "neutral" feedback that SOUNDS negative, I retaliate and put a *negative* feedback on his review. That will hopefully teach the idiot not to do that again. -
I sold dozens of games and books without any hassle. And yet there's that small 1% of annoying idiots who make the ebay experience a pain in the ass. I sold a VCR on ebay for $90. The guy had very good feedback, so I emailed him and said, "What's you address?" He gave it, and I shipped it. In the meantime, the guy decided to buy a VCR from his local store. Now he claims he's not obligated to pay me, because he doesn't need two VCRs. . What can I do to get my $90 from this idiot?

No but Final Fantasy 2 was released to the U.S. (PS1 CD). So now you'd have two Final Fantasy 2's in your collection: SNES and PS1. How would you discuss these games without getting confused? Answer: Use the Japanese numbering... the *original* numbering. (NOTE: What really pisses me off is not what you call the game. I'm pissed that you called us "lame". Who the hell do you think you are to insult us? If you ever said that to me in person, I'm probably punch you in the nose.)

You know, gamers are weird. They whine and moan, "There's no originality any more," but then when they get their hands on a unique, original game like Masks of Majora they tear it apart and call it trash. It reminds me of Star Trekkies... never satisfied. Anyway, I haven't played MM yet, but it sounds like something I will like. I like movies/games that break the mold and provide a fresh twist on old concepts.

i dont know about your cart, but my cart says Final Fantasy III I don't have the cart... I have the PS1 CDs, and they clearly say Final Fantasy 4, 5, 6 on the cover and in the title screen. Those are Square's official titles for my games. And I thought FF5 was a really, really good game. Not as good as FF4 or FF6, but still good. I like the ability to experiment with having 4 black mages or 4 fighters or any other combination. It makes the game infinitely replayable! Also I'm going to repeat my unanswered question: "If you say Final Fantasy III for Super Nintendo, then what do you call the FF3 from the Original Famicom/NES?" In order to avoid confusion, it just makes sense to use the *original* Japanese naming: NES = FF1-3 SNES=FF4-6 PS1 = FF7-9 PS2 = FF10-12 Otherwise, I might say, "Boy that FF2 really sucked," and you'll think I'm discussing the Super Nintendo version (when in reality I'm talking about the older 8-bit game). How did we get to this point? Oh yeah... having played the 16-bit Final Fantasies (FF4,5,6), I never want to touch FF7 again. I found the 16-bit character sprites FAR more interesting than FF7's polygonal stick figures (and the game/story was better too).

We're not "lame". We call Final Fantasy 6 because it IS the actual 6th game in the series. Nintendo was idiotic to rename it. Just curious: - If you say Final Fantasy III for Super Nintendo, then what do you call the FF3 from the Original Famicom? - And what do you call the unreleased Final Fantasy 5?

Games with anime cutscenes? (like Xenogears)?
RCmodeler replied to RCmodeler's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I had dot hack part 1, and it used CGI (computer-generated images), not animation. And I have the Complete Lunar collection, so I'm set. -
It isn't, it's very different, you're stuck on a maze unlike the free roaming movement in PMW. Well, I just played it on my PS2, and I liked the Ms. Pac-Man game. It looks the same as Pac-Man World, but plays very differently. Pac-Man was action-oriented with lots of running and jumping. Like a 3D Mario Brothers 1. Ms. Pac-Man is puzzle-oriented where you have to collect dots, open gates, jump over holes, and all while dodging the ghosts/monsters. BOTH games are very cool concepts!

No you don't. Worst. Zelda. Concept. EVER! I liked the original Pitfall and it's 20 minute time limit. I'll probably like Zelda: MM too. And yeah, I thought Groundhog Day was great. But mainly because it was funny. Is Majora's Mask funny? Also, wasn't MM produced in hi-res 640x480 graphics? It pobably looks a lot better than Ocarina did.

One thing I liked about Xenogears was the anime videos. It was a refreshing change from all the CGI stuff. Do any other games use anime cutscenes?

I think so. FF7 is not a bad RPG, but it's not a good RPG either. I think this article said it best: "When I compare the components of VII to the other games, I just don't think it stacks up. The music is good, but Uematsu has composed better. Save for Yuffie, the characters weren't as memorable as other FF denizens. Gameplay has been done better in other FF games. The story is uneven and not as "epic" as other FF tales. The one thing I don't get at all is how people rave about the "materia system," which is the game's prevalent method of character customization and combat. It really deemphasizes individual characters and abilities. One of my buddies said, "Materia makes magic and abilities too interchangeable, so the characters fade away and just become materia slots. So the whole point of characters becomes their limit breaks, which is sort of lame." Read more here: http://www.gamespy.com/articles/september0...d/index20.shtml

Gamecube for $99.99... holy crap!

Gamecube for $99.99... holy crap!
RCmodeler replied to The Sage of Sega's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Almost every one of those games is trash. I've played all the so-called "AAA" titles like Mario Sunshine & Wind Waker & Starfox Adventures and hated them. They were boring. Give me the PS2's Greatest Hits like Grand Theft, FF10, Kingdom Hearts, and Gran Turismo 3. Those games rock. And no I'm not a fanboy. I owned the Cube. I just hated the games. -

Oh I forgot: Nintendo is giving away a free "Zelda Collection" this Christmas. I'm waiting for that deal! :-) -

EBgames is giving away a free game with their Cubes. The free game is not very good, but it's free, so you can't complain. -
By your logic, the XBOX is as big a flop as the 7800 as well...... Yes I consider Xbox a flop. And Microsoft stockholders are starting to grumble about it.

25 Most Underrated Games of All Time
RCmodeler replied to Ze_ro's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Why do these people say "of all time" and then ignore everything pre-1990? They're being totally dishonest. Anyway, I nominate MicroProse' Red Storm Rising. This simple yet addictive game still gets played by me 20 years later. Sadly, most people have never even heard of it. :-( -
Xenogears - It's a MOVIE, not a game

P.S. If you have time, go here http://board.rpgamer.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard...t=ST;f=7;t=5996 The people at rpgamer.com absolutely love Xenogears, and they're defending it to the utmost! -
Xenogears - It's a MOVIE, not a game
RCmodeler replied to RCmodeler's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Well I disagree there. I thoroughly enjoyed playing FF10 (and still do), but it had lots of battles too, so for me it was a nice balance. (Ditto all the FFs 4-9). The problem with Xenogears is that there are NOT any battles. It's like Square was so busy telling the story that they forgot to include dungeons. You wander here. You wander there. But you rarely fight anyone. Square probably wanted a cinematic RPG, but with Xenogears it didn't quite work. They did a much better job with Parasite Eve and the FF series. When you reached the point where you thought, "Ugh... I'm tired of fighting," a cutscene would interrupt and grab your attention again.
